this guy is a total inspiration for me and i hope alot of people, i mean he is in his 70s , left home when he was 13 , had some hard times in his life, but never gave up what he loved and is gifted with ,music, the last few yrs he has become very big in the UK , but he doesn't let the fame go to his head.
+Seth Heaster My friend I and I were there, and we had no Idea who he was. So we asked a lady next to us and she looked at us like we were from another planet ! JPJ that is
What a tune and look what he's playing what a legend! He's only been in the spotlight not that long but he's brilliant!! Also he looks alot like my uncle buck.
I'm here because Les Stroud (Survivorman) said "Seasick Steve is a badass" on the Joe Rogan Experience. Holy shit was he right! Seasick Steve is as honest as it gets. To keep traditional slide blues alive in such a vibrant and dynamic way... what an invaluable asset he is to modern music.
haha, i'm a tone freak on guitar and feel i have trouble getting my fender strat to sound as sweet as it can for blues....Steve has a fucking gift to make literal shit sound good :D love it
Okay, to answer a few questions - the 'guitar' is made out of two Morris Minor hubcaps and a boomstick (and a few other bits too). Not really garbage, but certainly junk. It is, I promise you, a terrible creation, but Steve can make pretty much anything sound good! The hubcaps came from a 1970 (K-reg) Trafalgar Blue Morris Minor 1000, 2 door saloon named Cynthia. The broomstick came from my wife's broom. She'd like it back but Steve won't let her have it!
"He was once homeless and now he's playing with the bassist of Zeppelin" - moony2082 didn't the first guitar he found have only 3 strings? I need to look it up again.
Can't get much better than Seasick Steve on the broom stick, John Paul Jones on the bass and Sauron rocking the kit!
1 bottle of Jack, One broomstick, 2 hubcaps, a single string, and a crazy badass named Seasick Steve...one hell of a show....

Best sound to ever come from a Morris Minor.
John Paul Jones must enjoy being part of a band where he's the youngest.
