God I love Seasick so much. I love a cigar box guitar. Made a few myself. Does anyone know about the pickup placement on his guitars? The 6 string CBG he played first and his 3 string red guitar he played last both had one pickup right in the middle. I've heard that no one would ever do that. When you have a 3 pickup guitar, the middle is only ever used with the others because one in the middle supposedly sounds like shit. He can make anything with a string sound good but does anyone know if he does that on purpose or if it's true that it supposedly sounds like shit?
It's really strange, looks like an old soapbar mini-humbucker sort of thing, but you could probably get a similar sort or sound out of a hot filtertron pickup.
