I thoroughly enjoyed your video. The last time I visited your railway the line from Norchard to Parkend had not been opened so it was a real pleasure to see that. All your hard work is bearing fruit. Well done. Also David Kear was my optician in Lydney! Good to see his shop too.

This is a really wonderful video of a beautiful preserved railway line and if I was 73001 I would feel really contented to be passing through such wonderfully idyllic scenery in my semi-retirement. However, some of the rotting wagons and abandoned sidings really do need attention as do some of the weeds encroaching on the track in places.

Track is improving, we've done a lot of lineside clearance since then. Still got wagons knocking around, bu its the same old story of too few volunteers, too much to do. Getting there though!

Great ride. I had forgotten that the 'JA's had an 80mph limit (not that you were getting anywhere near that!) rather than the 90mph of the 'JB's.

How many times do we need to look at the throttle handle?

swearingkevo The chance to look in detail at the operation of any loco is a great opportunity. I didn't realise until late in the vid that the duplicate controls on the 73 are mimic, rather than alternate. Watching the controls on your side move in response to the driver's actions on his, was fascinating, and I can totally understand why you were so interested to capture in-cab activity as well as your birthday present cab ride. Thanks for a very nice and unique intro to Dean Forest. Haven't they done well.

这是哪个国家?风景优美,宁静。但,美中不足,如果我是搭乘这辆编号的火车去某地?我肯定睡着!驾驶速度慢的离谱!This is what country? Scenic, quiet. However, fly in the ointment, if I take the train to car number somewhere? I am sure asleep! Driving slow outrageous!

For heaven's sake, keep the camera still. Repeated pointing at the controls ruined the ride for me.
