    The moment Jay started solo shredding the entire bowl you realize he was always the most talented one out of the three. TA and Stacy were skilled too just way more competitive, but this scene depicts how creative and passionate Jay Adams was to Skatebording. Riding over the steps, something TA or Stacy never thought of. His constant search for new structures to skate, while they’re in tournaments. Jay should have been destined to he bigger than both but chose to follow his own path, fuck money. He had it all to himself

    The first time I saw this scene I just felt this terrible sadness thinking about a father who can do nothing more for his son than to drain the pool to let him and his friends spend his last days of life having fun together. Still terribly sad scene.

      This scene is incredibly beautiful. This movie inspired me to get a long board. I would drive to the new neighborhoods being built with the freshly paved streets and have the smoothest ride. I had a hill that was perfect, I felt like I was snowboarding. It inspired me to be able to enjoy being by myself and finding ways to enjoy life. Hiking around the lake, to the mountians.

    • @RmfDiz
      @RmfDiz 6 месяцев назад

      @vincenthammons-kd9du There have been a lot falling outs in the skate community since before cellphones. My parents who were born in the 50s, were telling me long before my first Nokia brick phone that I wouldnt have the same friends from high school that I have now, and that's true for like 90% of the planet. Ive got ONE friend from high school still. Everyone else either moved out of state, moved hours away, or we just stopped being friends for various reason. I've also had several friends die before I was in my 20s. My experience isn't unique, it's just life....but this scene really makes one reflect on it, and why that is, and how it can be prevented.

    Real pools are not deathtraps you can't get out of at the edge, set built from ply perfect for skating because wrecking a Marbelite pool was out of budget, but the story is true, mostly.

      You're not wrong, but at least they got the actors to learn how to skate. I always appreciated that about this movie.
      Better than pretty much every skating movie I watched as a teenager.

    Just now realizing Jay is a complete POS. Telling his friends that they shouldn't see him like that, yet he goes alone. Then tells Sid complete lies about Tony n Stacy while Alva is already there in the pool is Stacy shows up.

      You missed the point of Jay’s entire development. He wanted to he a team, he never wanted to leave Zephyr. The reason he’s pissed with TA and Stacey is because they used to he close friends and they grew apart after time. He’s not a POS he’s just an angry kid. And the most talented skater out of the three. He simply chose a pth thats not of glory or fame. He turned into a better skater than both TA and Stacy put of sheer experience with different structures in his time away from the both of them.

    I loved this movie then I watched the documentary and made me hate all of them lmfao bunch of self ego inflating clowns. Everyone in that documentray were the poster boys for people who "peaked in highschoo" vibes. Acted like they were hardest teens cuz what? they surfed and skated in the ghetto lol... my grandpa at their age was fighting in Nam lol. Movie was amazing z boys documentary was hard to finish too much ego stroking.
