Great Video Andrew, I agree completely shaft options are my only issue with them in general. Irons are the same thing. I like the club heads a lot but being limited to the one particular shaft makes it hard for me to want to purchase.
Thankfully, “one size fits most” is okay for sooo many golfers with irons and a steep shaft. But you have less forgiveness with graphite and woods, a bit of a square peg in a round hole Personally, the Takomo irons are one of the best irons I’ve played, but thankfully I’ve been a KBS Tour guy for years so it was an easy fit into the bag
I love the TaylorMade P790s I got fitted for but wouldn't consider myself team X when it comes to clubs. Heck, at my fitting, the Callaway Rogue driver which I went with had the best numbers so I have a mixed bag. I'm in the market for a new 3 wood and wouldn't mind taking a flyer on Takomo vs. spending $350+ for a custom shaft not to mention the price of the head.
Takomo woods are very high quality and performance for their cost. I personally play the Sub70 949x fairway woods and enjoy them and they perform for me, and are even less expensive than the Takomo.
You could turn the loft down, which would lower the spin, give you more ball speed and may still be easy to launch. I'm surprised you did not test the adjustments.
I did turn the loft down to 14°. Turning down down to 13° would open the face too much and not create the ball flight I won’t… and wouldn’t cut 800rpm of spin or add 5mph of ball speed
intersting about the spin, I had the same problem, when I tested the 5 and 3 wood. launched high . but a bit too much spin, compared with my Sim2 max woods. My friend who plays Callaway said the same when compared to AI smoke woods. Both of lost betweem 6-8 yards in carry.
@@andrewjensengolf yeah the G430 if they were around 200 they would be perfect I’m sure they’re still going to sell Out. Like I said I got the 2i and it’s 20+ yards shorter than my 3i I just think it’s the shaft they use it feels way too lite but quality is top notch..

I’ve tested and reviewed the Pro V2 from Sub70… found it sooo good!
