When I was a young teenager in the days of steam I used to go train spotting at Preston we used to hop on a train and ride up to Leyland, hang about and then go back to Preston all without a ticket. Those were the days!!!
Just watched this … yes I know … tardy to the party. Absolutely loved it!! So refreshing to see someone talk normally in a rail video! By that I mean … no frills or airs or graces …. This is the way I talk / get over it!! I love it. Anyone who uses the phrase ‘frig me what a filthy bugger of a train’ is going to win my heart! Also love the rawness of it … you’ve just gone with it. Your enthusiasm is infectious - as was your cold I’m sure! Love it, and sorry I’m late x
Happy two-year anniversary of this video being uploaded! Right from this very first day, the whole "Exploring the North West by Train" series is fantastic (as are all of G's other videos too). Be warned though: if you sit down to watch just one video from this series, it's highly likely that you'll end up watching loads of them in a row
It was great to see your very 1st Vlog and compare to your 2024 Vlogs. This first was a great attempt by you, but over time your Vlogs improved as you leaned those Vloging skills. Now the vlogs are great. As it is Christmas I am binging your 1st series
This is brilliant well done , Preston brings back memories for me traveling back and forth from Merseyside Kirkdale, to Kilwinning North Ayrshire Scotland, Via, Ormskirk , then Preston, Glasgow, Kilwinning, 4 hours tops if no delays, living in Kilwinning at the time 2014, now in Merseyside but i Love traveling on trains, with or without Delays..😎😎😍😍
Yep, this vlog series is gonna get watched to the hilt. "bye bye filthy bugger" might just be a slogan in the making for one particular train operater. Informative and bursting with enthusiasm.... and a healthy disade of double entendres to boot! Great stuff!
Ahh! Just discovered your channel and you're amazing! I'm based in the North West too and love trains and visiting all the platforms. Keep up the content, I'd love to do what you do 💕
Oh my! I told you I was going to follow this series! I watched the first and last installments now, 44 more episodes to go. I might be a while. We are not fond of round-a-bouts over here either. Most guys have big four-wheel drive trucks with big tires and huge crash bumpers on the front. At least they feel a bit safer. Stay healthy over there! Cheers, Danny 😃🚄🚉
Thanks for the video, you are such a funny person I don’t even think you try to be. Love the way you make yourself laugh whilst entertaining yourself. Myself and I’m sure many others are laughing too. Keep the content coming you are getting me through my lunch breaks only found your page a few days ago 👍
An old mucker/colleague of mine from Stratford Depot was a loco fireman at Preston Shed before he put in for a driver promotion transfer and moved to 'that London'. I wouldn't say he's got big ears, but some of the blokes nicknamed him, Wingnut.
Thank you for sharing your journey. I am a recent subscriber & have just started watching this series. So far, I am really enjoying it. I'm looking forward to seeing the rest.
Loving these. Can’t wait for her to visit my station. I REALLY want her to sing “Knickers on yer head” at my local station - Irlam. I’ll have to watch them all, see if she does 😀😀
Am in catch-up mode 🤣 Just want to recapture the fun and trains. (I started watching half way through your VLog so missed quite a few days) take care G 👍
So when you wear your knickers on yer head (squishy babies!) i assume that's an alternative pair you brought specially and not the pair you began the day with. 😁😆👌
TPE formerly used to operate the route from Blackpool to Manchester Airport before the new NT and TPE franchises were renewed in 2016 on april fools day because arriva northern was a joke
GLovesTrains yes they do weird how they reinstated them if there was overcrowding but they said they were getting transpenine express direct to Scotland from Liverpool one goes via Leeds and one via Preston I suppose that was the only possible route, haven't yet seen one at Wigan because when I was there the other day they were all cancelled due to storm Ciara lol.
GLovesTrains they do there's 1 at Quarter two 5 from Liverpool to Glasgow and to Liverpool 3pm, it did indeed let's see what storm Dennis had to offer.
we can be thankful the station was not demolished in the 60's when they electrified the west coast main line. Birmingham New Street and Euston were not so lucky.
I think I've found the next Dr. Who. Strange sense of humour check, accent that you can't quite get the local on. (Grimsby) and some unconventional dance moves check.
@@GLovesTrains you will love it. The staff on the train are dead friendly. Once I was talking to a guard and he let me make a PA and let me open and close the doors and dispatch the train from Hunts Cross and I also received a carriage key and a key that dates back to BR days
Given your methods for pronouncing town names, there's a town near me I'd love to hear you try to figure out. I love hearing out-of-towners try and wrap their heads around Puyallup.
Loving your videos and it's great to see the North West from your perspective. I have two questions though. 1) I'm trying to pick your accent. I'm not from the UK, so not very good with local accents yet, but trying to learn them so I can identify them more. Can I ask what your accent is? 2) This is a bit of a weird one, but I'm an information architect which is why I love to think about these questions... I'm interested to know what area you refer to as the North West. Unlike states or counties, there is no single definition. (this could also be a quiz question if you ever do those things). By North West, do you mean... a) The government's version of the NW (which includes Cumbria all the way up to the Scottish border) - but hardly anyone uses this b) The BBC's definition of the NW (which excludes Cumbria, but instead adds the Isle of Mann) c) ITV's definition of the NW (also known as Granada) (which still includes the Isle of Mann, but only the bottom bit of Cumbria and a small bit of Northern Wales) d) a corporate version of the NW - crazy as it sounds, many companies and government organisations have their own borders which are different to the above (from Ticketmaster to the Crown Prosecution Service) Yeah... it's a weird question, but does raise an eyebrow...
You really make me laugh I am getting to a pint where I would live to meet you at Wigan one day for a day out you’ll make me laugh so much the nickers on your head I just had to laugh and you crack me up when you say sexy train baby love it most entertaining train videos Iv ever seen love your videos and your editing is perfect tooxx

Not long discovered your channel, so probably best way to watch is from the start.
Haha some of the later vlogs are better 😂
The 319's went to Brighton when I lived there as a very young child and I remember them being alright haha.

Don’t mind me saying it great that many more females that doing train videos and vlogs. I did not know that so many that doing it and it great to see
Yeah it's great to see the railway community becoming more diverse!
TP express I think stopped because of the fact the new trains are delivered.
if you think Chorley is roundabout central, then just wait until you experience Milton Keynes
There was no guard on the train to blow the whistle ?

Why would anyone call it Exton anyway? Exton's on the Tarka line in Devon.
Exton is on the Avocet line (Exeter to Exmouth). The Tarka line runs to Barnstaple in North Devon.
