Tourists Surfing Waikiki

We flew to Hawaii to celebrate my 30th birthday! In my lifetime I've surfed a couple times. Waikiki Beach was a blast! It wasn't intimidating & the waves were the perfect size. We went around 9AM, but by the time we got out of the water (11:15AM) there were a lot of tourists who had never surfed before. I think a lesson isn't necessary. I'd watch a RUclips video & go for it.
