This is the first and only video I have seen about iPhone 7 motherboard replacement. I can say without a doubt that this video is extremely detailed and precise! EVERYTHING is covered and explained in a very easy to understand way. You are guided step by step with each screw and what to do, things to watch out for and helpful hints. Got the motherboard, waited for the kit from China, and followed each step while pause/play along the course of repair. Thanks for this video and I will most definitely like it and follow!
+Brian Alexander Thank you so much for the feedback and encouragement! The goal was to make it easy step-by-step to follow so thank you I'm glad it was helpful to you good luck on your repair!
HerbalSun This was the hardest part actually. Not really hard, but took some time. I did find it on eBay and I did find that they are not so readily available. They do pop up, but very sporadically. I think I had to wait like three to four weeks for one to show up. When it did, I snatched it up at a buy it now price of $350. You may find one cheaper, but for less than half the price of a new phone, it was worth it to me.
Yes it would if you can find a good board to replace it with. You also need the Touch ID home button that originally came with that board you put in if you want Touch ID to work.
Yes if you can find a good board to swap it out with. A clean one can be hard to find unless someone breaks their screen and parts out their phone etc. cuz you also need the original home button Touch ID with it.
Hello, I would like to thank you for making such a detailed video and providing links on where to find the necessary materials. I just wish I could find a decently priced logic board. I do have one question though. The iPhone I wish to repair is carrier locked to T-Mobile, so if I find a logic board that is carrier locked to any other carrier that isn't T-Mobile will that cause any issues once I replace it? Thanks so much!
I have a iPhone white 7 with ic chip problem and I have a iPhone 7 black my plan is to use the motherboard of the black one in the whit iPhone 7 do I need to use the home button of the black or can I still use the white one for Touch ID?
+Brian Alexander The screws are samein the iPhone 7 except the tripoint screws. Those are different and yes I believe those bits are not included in the basic set.
I wanted to get some information, I have a Icloud locked iphone 7. Touch ID works fully functional the logic board is locked. So, I wanted to know that do I want to buy a new board with touch id or without touch id?
I am planning on doing this. Only thing I’m not sure about is water proof adhesive, will the one listed on the description work well enough? Also, does the home button need adhesive?
Alvaro Cruz well 2 months... ifix phones and the adhesive that little strip is enough water resistance, again since its not an oring or extreme glue its not ip68 but it will be ip67 which is the regular on the iphone... the seal is perfect, unless you open up the apple logo then i suggest waterprood tape... other then that its waterproof with the seal if its just a screen repair. Some people can actually save the seal but... im not that good, plus their inexpensive running at $5 for 5
I have an iPhone 7plus but I don’t have the passcode to it and no way to figure it out unfortunately. Will changing the motherboard remove the passcode
I have a link in the video description below the video of the only place I know where you can find some. You have to keep checking back because it varies a lot of what’s available though. You could also check for a parts phone that has a broken screen etc but works otherwise.
Hi... I would like to ask.. Can I change the motherboard only?? or I must change and the home button also???? And if I will not. will it work??? at least as home button without the fingerprint????? Thank you for everything.....
+Aaron Ramdial The only place I know to check where people part out their phone sometimes etc. I have a link in the video description below the video where you can check. It varies a lot of what's available so just check back. If you see one that's interesting you can always message the seller and ask them about it.
Heads up to anyone, I purchased the premium tool kit and yes it does have everything in there except for one thing! Maybe I'm over looking it maybe? But I don't seem to see a Phillips 000 so if i'm correct you'll need to buy that too unless the 1.5 works I haven't gotten through it yet Other than that it comes with everything you need even a "guitar pick" looking thing so you don't need to find one of those either and idk if its where I'm from but the premium kit only costed me like 15.
I’m not 100% sure I’ve never tried it, I think it will work but it might give you pop-ups saying that it doesn’t work. Maybe someone else can comment that has tried it.
Hey Brian, love your channel! I was in Shenzhen so I bought an iPhone 7 plus (fake), with the intention of buying the motherboard. But I can't find a mother board supplier for the 7 plus anywhere! Please help!
+Tyler Williams They are hard to come by. I have a link in the video description below the video where you can find some sometimes you can just change the search to iPhone 7 Plus once you get there.
+eoin fitzpatrick yes the motherboards should swap out just fine. I don't know about the find my iPhone status. If iCloud is clean I think it's ok. I'm not 100% sure though. You may wanna double check on that.
Hi, will a iphone6 motherboard/logicboard fit a iphone7. Son has a smashed iphone6 and I have a iphone7 with damaged motherboard and thought I could put the to together and give it to son. Thanks
+Wesley abbaa As far as I know the Touch ID won't work unless it's the original one that's paired with the board. You can try it if you want though and see any it does.
I've just replaced the motherboard, I've tried the home button paired to the motherboard results; home button did not work. I've tried the other home button aswell, ain't working.. What should you suggest?
It’s a little different on a 5S. I should have a video on that one specifically if you check my channel. I put a link in the video description of that video where I usually try to find them.
+Eric Thomas Ideally you would get a home button that originally came with the board that you are buying. That is if you want touch ID to work properly. Otherwise everything else should work fine from what I understand.
So if I were to buy a replacement logic board that had never been with an iphone, would I then buy a never used home button as well? or do you need to get a parts phone and grab them both at the same time
+Alex Wegner From what I understand it's best to grab both from a Parts phone that way they are original Apple parts and they're both paired together from the factory.
+Iraqi for ever I have a link in the video description below the video where you can find some sometimes. Just make sure they are clean to activate. It varies a lot of what's available. That's the only place I've found any.
Ok got you, I’m only asking because I took my phone to get repaired, I told them I think it’s the charger port but they say it’s the motherboard, I’m trying not to get dicked around
So if i find a lost iphone and i have not the chance to find the owner or to unlock it, i can change the motherboard and it becomes like new without codes or old apple account ???
Brother , we have to change 'logic board' or full 'motherboard' ????? Many people claim that changing loguc board doesn't unlock iCloud lock , by changing full motherboard we can only remove iCloud lock ? Is that true ??? Plz help me out Thanx in advance :)

hi so i have a iPhone 7 but i dont know how many gb it is can i just buy any motherboard to replace it and this new motherboard will clear the locked icloud.
+Jorge Campos If the board to replace it with is free of iCloud lock. And also make sure the board you and replace it with is clean to activate with your wireless carrier.
Great video. Been looking for a video like this! I want to purchase 2 iPhones 6 from eBay. 1 is in good condition but iCloud locked and the other is badly damaged but the logic board is iCloud and network unlocked. If I remove the logic board from a badly damaged phone and install it into an ICloud locked phone. The new phone should turn on ICloud unlock ? So in theory.... 'a logic board' is like a brain and a 'phone' like a body of a robot? Hehehe
Hi, I bought a 7 plus on craiglist and has been left with a icloud locked phone, I paid 400 for the phone and is there any way you could help me. Meaning, Do you provide repair service.
+Sriram Bommareddy I don't personally I just do repair tutorials so you can hopefully fix it yourself. That sounds like quite a bit for an iCloud locked iPhone. I have a link in the video description below the video where you can find some good clean motherboard sometimes it varies a lot of what's available so keep checking back.
Can I swap a logic board of a T-Mobile iPhone 7 model number A1778 jet black 128 gb into a iPhone 7 matte black unknown carrier unknown GB model number A1660 (iCloud locked)?
+shevun smith I have a link in the video description below the video where you can find some sometimes. It varies a lot of what’s available though so keep checking back
here's my situation, I have 2 iPhone 7 but one is iCloud locked. The iCloud locked iPhone is not on the hello/activation screen, it's on the passcode screen. The iCloud locked phone is in like new condition it's flawless, and the other iPhone 7 that isn't iCloud locked it's got some dents and scratches on the body so I just want to swap the mother boards so I can use the iPhone 7 that's practically new. My question is once I swap the mother boards on the iPhone's , when they turn on will they boot up to the lock screen like normal or will they go into the hello/activation screen ?
+Lil Vro Yes that should work to swap them out like that. If the board that's in your beat up phone is past the activation screen then that's how it'll be on your new phone once you swap it over. Also you will want to swap over the touch ID button as well
Smart Easy Repair The iCloud locked iPhone also isn't on the activation screen, it's on the screen when you turn it on and asks for your passcode , so once I swap them it should turn on like normal and go to the passcode screen right ? Also what I'm going to do is swap screens because the one on the iCloud locked iPhone has a small crack , since I'm transferring the whole screen with the home button , my Touch ID should work fine right ? Thank you so much for replying you're the best man!
+Smart Easy Repair thanks a lot for the help , I did the swap and everything was fine , the phones booted back up to the regular screen , thanks again you're the best bro ! 👌🏽
Smart Easy DIY 10 hours ago I have a link in the video description below the video where you can find some sometimes. It varies a lot of what’s available though so keep checking. .. Its the only place I know of.
+Isaiah Robinson Well you can get buyer protection through eBay and PayPal if you open a case with them, if he sold it as a good phone and it's iCloud locked cuz it's definitely not as described. The only other fix is to find a clean motherboard that you can replace it with that comes with a home button as well.
I have a link in the video description below the video where you can find some usually. That’s the only place I know to get some if you can’t find any keep checking back.
One of the best video's I've watched, great detail makes it easy to follow thanks
Thanks I’m glad it helped.

Brian Alexander did your home Touch ID home button work well?
Probably one of the best videos for iPhone repair i have seen. Been fixing iPhones starting with the iPhone 4.
Thank you.
Awesome thanks I appreciate that! Best of luck with your repairs. 👍👊
Finally someone who precisely explains iCloud fix. Thumbs up!
thanks!
Do you mean that u make a new i cloud?
hello it is posible to remove id lock/icloud and imei blacklist when we replace another clean motherboard for iphone 7?
Hi I have a activation locked iPhone 7 if I change the motherboard or logic board whatever you call it will it remove activation lock
Yes it would if you can find a good board to replace it with. You also need the Touch ID home button that originally came with that board you put in if you want Touch ID to work.
Hi my iPhone 8 Plus has a iCloud activation lock on it so if I change the mother board will it be fixed
Yes if you can find a good board to swap it out with. A clean one can be hard to find unless someone breaks their screen and parts out their phone etc. cuz you also need the original home button Touch ID with it.
Thank you for showing the putting it back together part. Does the home button come with the motherboard or can it be bought separately?
It needs to come with whatever board you are putting in. They are paired together from the factory.
see bro your the best like honestly these other videos are horribly explained fr
Thank you
nice video! what happen if i leave the original home button? can i use it normally but i won't have touch id? or it wont work at all?
Hello, I would like to thank you for making such a detailed video and providing links on where to find the necessary materials. I just wish I could find a decently priced logic board. Yes you’ll need to swap the home button from the black one over as well.
Smart Easy DIY
Is there anything I can do to make the home button white? Becouse a white screen and a black button...
Thanks for such a nice video. Hats off. I can't find link in video description. Could you please help? Cheers
Thanks. The link for the board? bit.ly/iPhone7LogicBoard
The link for the basic tool kit you provided is listed for iPhones 4-6. Does the iPhone 7 have the same size phillips/triangle screws as those models?
+Brian Alexander The screws are samein the iPhone 7 except the tripoint screws. Those are different and yes I believe those bits are not included in the basic set.
I wanted to get some information, I have a Icloud locked iphone 7. Touch ID works fully functional the logic board is locked. So, I wanted to know that do I want to buy a new board with touch id or without touch id?
Yeah you would need Touch id that’s paired with your new board. The old touch id won’t work with the other board.
Bro this was the most informative and descriptive video I've seen for phone repairs man thanks a million times I'm Raw Falcone by the way
Thank you!
if i change new full motherboard and remove old one from iphone 6s. than can work everything withoud icloud locked?
iPhone 6s board won’t fit into this.
OverKnight 52 Thank you! Well, I️ did the job. I️ placed the waterproof adhesive but I’m not sure if it works or not
I have an iPhone 7plus but I don’t have the passcode to it and no way to figure it out unfortunately. Will changing the motherboard remove the passcode
Yes it will if you can get a good clean board to put in it. Make sure to get the home button that comes with your new board too.
Hello! where it is possible a plant complete system board will buy for iPhone 7 on-line
I’m not sure if you can use the home button just as a button or if you get an error. I haven’t tried it myself to see what all it can do.
Thank you very much... Can you try it please??
I don’t actually have one anymore to test it out.
Can u advise me where I can get a clean mother board and home button to purchase? One that's unlocked etc. great video btw very detailed
+Aaron Ramdial The only place I know to check where people part out their phone sometimes etc. I have a link in the video description below the video where you can check. Smart Easy Repair can I use a lower GB mother board also? Instead of a 128GB one?
+Aaron Ramdial Yes
Hi, so does this video apply to activation locked iphones or just icloud locked? Or are they the same thing.
Yeah it should work for either one cuz it changes the IMEI when you change the board.
I wanna change the motherboard on a 7 plus, so it the exact same process in this video?
+Nomair Chaudhary I think screw placement etc. will be a little different but most of the steps will be quite similar.
If i dont change home button will button still work ,, i dont need touch Id i just need it to exit to home screen ??? Thanks
I’m not 100% sure I’ve never tried it, I think it will work but it might give you pop-ups saying that it doesn’t work. Maybe someone else can comment that has tried it.
If you take to a place where they repair screens and all that stuff will they change it
+Jesus Torres They should be able to for a fee.
hello,if i buy a motherboard from aliexpress, does i have to order both homebotton and board ?
I think so yes. Those might just be bare boards though I’m not sure how they work

Really good video easy to follow thanks.

If I change the motherboard will it remove the passcode lock and the iCloud as well??
Yes if the board you put in is free of iCloud lock.
So does it become a new iPhone without icloud activation? Did not watch the vid
Hey i was wondering if this would unblock my blacklisted tmobile iphone7+.Thanks.
+Samuel Moura Yeah if you can find a clean motherboard to replace it with it should.
Do i need to replace the home button for an icloud locked iphone 6 plus?
Men your information was very helpful thanks
Awesome I’m glad. Thanks
how do you know which motherboards will be able to work with the home button?
You have to make sure if you buy one that the home button comes with it already. The one that came with it originally from the factory.
Hey Brian, love your channel! I was in Shenzhen so I bought an iPhone 7 plus (fake), with the intention of buying the motherboard. But I can't find a mother board supplier for the 7 plus anywhere! Please help!

Can I use a us motherboard on the same uk model. Does it matter if find my iphone is on, as long as the iCloud status is clean
+eoin fitzpatrick yes the motherboards should swap out just fine. I don't know about the find my iPhone status. If iCloud is clean I think it's ok. I'm not 100% sure though. You may wanna double check on that.

+eoin fitzpatrick You're welcome
Thank you finally someone english speaking

Smart Easy DIY hi where did you buy your logic board btw I wanted to buy from china but it was so expensive
I have a link in the video description below the video where I usually find some. Just make sure that they don’t have iCloud lock or blacklisted etc.
If I change the logic board the button "home" works?
+Cesar Sosa If you want touch ID to work you need to get the original button that came with the new motherboard.
are logic board motherboards specific to the i iphone 7 model/carrier
They can be if you get a factory unlocked one it should work with most any carrier.
Will this method still work to remove the icloud activation lock ?
Yes if that’s your only option and you can find a board that is free of iCloud lock.
Can an iphone 7 mother board fit on an iphone 7 plus ?
No they are different
Hi, will a iphone6 motherboard/logicboard fit a iphone7.
Son has a smashed iphone6 and I have a iphone7 with damaged motherboard and thought I could put the to together and give it to son.
Thanks
No sorry they won’t interchange
Is it possible to swap motherboards from T-Mobile to Verizon? It is an iPhone 7
Yeah sure if you can find a Verizon board to put into it.
Would the touch id be affected with a new logic board?
Yes you would need to have the new touch ID that comes with your new board as well.
is it necessary to replace the home button aswell? I found a cheap logic board (iPhone 7) but it's another colour, so it ain't matching..
Hey I changed my phone’s logic board and its vibration is not working now?
And also flashlight is not working proper?
What issue could be?
Thanks so much for all of the effort and precision, it is very helpful to me :)
+Sage Warren thank you I'm glad it helped!
Is it possible to use a larger say 128 GB otherboard instead of 16gb one
Yeah they should fit the same just fine.
Does this work on iPhone 5s and where can I find a motherboard
It’s a little different on a 5S. I should have a video on that one specifically if you check my channel. I put a link in the video description of that video where I usually try to find them.
Hi sir i bought a logic board without the home button...
Will my old home button work
On my new logic board?
I don’t believe it will. Touch ID anyways. You could see if everything else des ok. I’m not entirely sure.
If I was to buy a clean logic board i would have to get a brand new iphone 7 home button? #Help plz
+Eric Thomas Ideally you would get a home button that originally came with the board that you are buying. That is if you want touch ID to work properly. Otherwise everything else should work fine from what I understand.
do u have to change the home button with the motherboard?
Yes for touch ID to work
If need to be The same gb of storage of The New and old motherboard?
No it doesn’t need to be the same size memory
If i put the motherboard of my broken iphone and put it in an icloud locked iphone will it work?
Yes it should if there’s no damage to your old board. Swap over your Touch ID too.
What if my iPhone is not iCloud locked and I deactivated search my iPhone before? Can I use a new motherboard and my old touch id?
The problem is new motherboards and old touch ID won’t pair together
So if I were to buy a replacement logic board that had never been with an iphone, would I then buy a never used home button as well? or do you need to get a parts phone and grab them both at the same time
+Alex Wegner From what I understand it's best to grab both from a Parts phone that way they are original Apple parts and they're both paired together from the factory.
Smart Easy Repair could you do a test to see if it will work with two replacement parts?
I'm not sure how to do that
,from what website can I get a new unlocked logic board motherboard replacement for I phone 7 plus
+Iraqi for ever I have a link in the video description below the video where you can find some sometimes. Just make sure they are clean to activate. It varies a lot of what's available. That's the only place I've found any.
Hey can the motherboard be a cause for the iPhone 7 Plus to not charge or is it just the charging port has malfunction and needs to be replaced?
I would start with the charging port as that is the cheapest thing to replace first.
So if I replace the motherboard all my information will be gone right?
Yes. So you would want to do a backup and wipe your board first. It’s hard to find a good clean board so hopefully it’s just your change ing port.
Ok got you, I’m only asking because I took my phone to get repaired, I told them I think it’s the charger port but they say it’s the motherboard, I’m trying not to get dicked around
Yeah I would definitely try changing the charging port first.
So if i find a lost iphone and i have not the chance to find the owner or to unlock it, i can change the motherboard and it becomes like new without codes or old apple account ???
+Ludovico Palladino Yes if you can find a good clean motherboard
Why change the logicboard. The home button also changes?
Brother , we have to change 'logic board' or full 'motherboard' ?????
Many people claim that changing loguc board doesn't unlock iCloud lock , by changing full motherboard we can only remove iCloud lock ?
Is that true ???
Plz help me out
Thanx in advance :)
Hi. The logic board and motherboard are the same.
Man,your information was really helpfull!!
+GreekCrackerGamer Thank you I'm glad it helped!
Do i need to replace the touch even though it's only the motherboard whoch does not work?
Yes they are paired together from the factory.
@@SmartEasyDIYer oh okay thanks
Where can I buy a motherboard for iPhone 7 without iCloud lock
+brandon porter They are hard to find. I have A link in the video description below the video where you can find some sometimes. Ignore the "bare boards" that show up sometimes.
I have icloud locked i phone and i am about to change the mother board
will the touch id fit perfectly in my iphone? and will it work or nit?
The Deuce Nepal did it work? Any problems?
Touch screen doesnt work after logic board replacement. What to do? Thank you
I would check some of the different screen connectors. Usually what it is they aren’t together quite right.
hi so i have a iPhone 7 but i dont know how many gb it is can i just buy any motherboard to replace it and this new motherboard will clear the locked icloud.
+Jorge Campos If the board to replace it with is free of iCloud lock. And also make sure the board you and replace it with is clean to activate with your wireless carrier.
I have an unlocked iphone 6 that was damaged. If the logic board is ok, Can I use this logic board to unlock an iphone 7 that is password locked?
They won’t interchange between the 6 and 7. It would for another 6.
Nice 👍
Thank you
Is that matters if i changed 64gb mobo with 128gb mobo of same iPhone?
+Rukmangadhar Reddy no that won’t matter. I would swap home buttons too.
can I take an iCloud locked iPhone and replace it's motherboard with a clean one and will it work?
+Manuel Almanza Yes it will. Touch ID won't work properly unless you can get the home button that came with that motherboard as well.
Smart Easy Repair I do have the home button so it will work
+Manuel Almanza Yes if the board you're putting in is OK then it should work great.
thanks man for the reply I'll try and do the repair today fyi I subbed keep it up and thanks
+Manuel Almanza Thanks man I appreciate that! Best of luck.
My iPhone 7 is 128gb, do I have to find a logic board with the same 128gb or, the 32gb logic board is going to work just fine?
Yeah it’s ok to use a lower gb board in there.
Hehehe
+Mark Tran Yes that should work. You will also want to swap over the home button Touch ID.
Will this remove the iPhone from the network blacklist?
+Jo Santi Yes if the board you put in it is clean.
thanks mate

+Lil Vro Yes it should go to the normal screen. Ok great idea to just swap screen yes!
+Smart Easy Repair thanks a lot for the help , I did the swap and everything was fine , the phones booted back up to the regular screen , thanks again you're the best bro ! 👌🏽

Can I use a bare logic board and replace it like this
+Isaiah Robinson No the bare ones are just the basic board to have no parts on them
What is the best way for me to get iCloud off an iPhone 7 256gb I bought it off of eBay and it has iCloud
+Isaiah Robinson I would try contacting the seller first and see if they can help. Did you buy it knowing it was iCloud locked?
No I try to contact him and he not helping me out so now I'm stuck with an iPhone 7 that I can't get into and I really want to keep and use it
+Isaiah Robinson Well you can get buyer protection through eBay and PayPal if you open a case with them, if he sold it as a good phone and it's iCloud locked cuz it's definitely not as described. The only other fix is to find a clean motherboard that you can replace it with that comes with a home button as well.
Where can i buy the motherboard?
I have a link in the video description below the video where you can find some usually. That’s the only place I know to get some if you can’t find any keep checking back.
