This is one of the best MIAB pedals out there, it even feedbacks and does the "ghost notes" like an actual Plexi. A lot of pedals nail the sound, but a few actually get the ghosting and feel of a Plexi, this one does both. I can imagine that this probably sounds amazing with a treble booster in front.
Cracking me up with the cork sniffer sarcasm. So many good amps in a box these days. The Sixty8 does seem to have that Plexi tone “feel” down that’s missing in others. The “It Don’t Come Easy” riff was a cool unexpected treat. The GNR riff made my ears bleed 😂 The crunchy tone about 2/3rds through was what I was waiting to hear. Was it through Fender SS amp or what speaker emulation was used? 👍
My 68 Deluxe is the best plexi pedal I’ve ever played. Its what made me a fan of LPD, and now I own like 15 or something crazy lol. Great video and playing. Word is there may be another new one dropping sometime soon. Maybe I’ll see you on the other side of that one too! 😉
Hi Lee, an amplifier stage is always limited by it’s supply voltage (unless it’s limited by a signal clamping device that has a threshold less than the supply voltage). By increasing the supply voltage you give the amplifier stage more room to amplify the signal. This is the engineering definition of headroom. For musicians headroom is generally perceived as dynamic range or clipping level. Hope that helps.
I bought one of these because of Edge of Breakups demo a while back and absolutely love it. It is so good. I have found that it loves a boost in front of it.
