Tell me your favorite Ducky moment :)
The scene where Mr. Palmer and Ducky arrived at a crime scene late, because they apprehended three kids who had egged their van. "Mr. Pamler, release the prisoners!"
Gibbs was asked once what Ducky looked like when he was younger and his reply was "Ilya Kuryakin". I grew up watching The Man From UNCLE and had a huge crush on him. I was talking about that reference with my friends from work for I don't know how long after that.
My favorite ducky moment is when he Dr. Palmer has graduated and he is hiding the fact that he has graduated and is now capable of doing ducky’s job, and he’s telling this to a kid who is extremely suicidal they’re sitting on a ledge, and ducky hears this. He’s shocked by the fact that Mr. Palmer hasn’t bothered to tell him I mean there’s another moment closer to my heart it’s ducky and his mother are making Thanksgiving dinner. I think it is and Dr. Palmer. You really get the sense that Palmer is ducky son in every sense of the word name daughter I believe one of her names is for ducky’s mother I think he was always proud of his adopted son and that showed.
the one where abby and his mom meet
Any of the times ducky gave advice and anytime he told a story
We all mourned with this one. We not only lost a great character but a phenomenal actor
May he rest in peace.
His way of telling a story. We’ll miss you,Ducky.😢
Brian Dietzen did an absolutely beautiful job with this moment. I'm crying all over again.
Brian Dietzen also co-wrote the episode with one the executive producers of the show, Scott Williams
Scotland mourns her loss. Rest in peace, Doctor Mallard.
His???
@@ashliestevenson6823No, they are describing Scotland as her, not Dr. Mallard.
I like the little nod to one of David McCallum's other big roles, as his dog's name (Solo) was the last name of Robert Vaughn's character in The Man from U.N.C.L.E.
Rest In Peace, Mr McCallum sir, you were awesome in NCIS as well as The Man from U.N.C.L.E. which was the first programme I ever saw you act in 🙂
and after that the invisible man
Don't forget The Great Escape as well.
don't forget in season 1 Caitlin asked Gibbs what Ducky looked like when he was younger and Gibb's reply was he looked like Illya Kuryakin
@@neil999ishAnd Steel in "Sapphire & Steel"
I had a moment of, "I recognize that reference!" myself. Illya Kuryakin was my own fave in that show and I resented that Solo was the dominant character! 😄
Tragic scene for me. May David McCallum rest in peace. 😢
Tragic, yes, but done in a respectful way. RIP David/Ducky.
He did beautifully in this scene. Slowly realizing he was dead. This must have hurt…
@@cpmow831 I think this is how all the cast felt, yet 10 times worse.
David, NCIS, shows, and movies won't be the same without you. You will be greatly missed.
That tremor in his voice when he says, "Ducky," gets me bawling every time. RIP David McCallum :(
My mother loved this show, and Ducky. She told David McCallum was one of her crushes from back in his Illya Kuryakin. She passed several years ago. I like to think she'll get to meet him and let him know how much she liked his work.
Brian is a wonderful actor. RIP David.
That's a really nice way to give farewell to a character, instead of "he travelled to Asia", "he took a year off and died in Africa". Very personal!
Yes indeed, most poignant episode in NCIS 😭
David McCallum will always be Illya Kuryakin to me.
It's a while since I've watched NCIS but nice touch having the dog's name Solo as in Naplon Solo his old partner from The Man From Uncle days RIP David Mallum great actor.
I am a distant cousin of David's sadly I never got the chance to meet him as I could have asked him questions for hours about the history of Clan McCallum and our family's connection to Clan Malcom. My great great grandfather was the Nephew of David's great grandfather who arrived in America as a child his name was Archibold McCallum.
Did he know the history of the clan? Or are you assuming that just because of his name?
I’m his cousin also
@@aionnacasey1346 So does that make me your Cousin too?
I enjoyed watching NCIS and DR. Mallard. I also enjoyed watching him as a secret agent I'm the Man from Uncle . RIP My thoughts and prayers are with the family and the cast of NCIS
Brings back memories I found my 24 year old roommate. He had aspirated in his sleep and passed away. Hits way to close to home. 911 started to give me instruction and I had to tell her he was already cold and stiff. You never forget that feeling.
My deepest sympathy. Loss of a friend or family never goes away you just learn to deal.my daughter died at 5 months old 41 years ago .i still cry
A lovely actor walked away to the heavenly playing of those bagpipes. Thank you David for gracing us with your presses.
Ducky, you were the heart of NCIS without David as the centre of this series it would be an empty note of wisdom or wit and his smile and humour gave it the charm of Scott's limerick when spoke to the team about old cases. David and Robert were the men from uncle then and now but David became someone special in NCIS a fine ME and a wise advisor to the young agents and his assistant. David is gone but he's still in our hearts as Ducky, thinking of saying goodbye is not right it should say be at peace and your fans will never forget you for everything you have done a legacy of some great films and television series. Thank You, David. R.I.P
It’s an irony when you think about it, autopsy gremlin there as he was nicknamed for quite some time was his adopted son, and you can see that he was his adopted son as he came to see how he was doing, and found him dead.
He named his dog Solo, Love it ❤
God bless you David, you and Robert Vaughan are saving the world again in heaven ❤❤
David McCollum was a great actor. His portrayal of "Ducky" was spot on perfection. I always thought that Ducky and David were similar in that they were incredibly caring people. Especially for their family and friends. Gibbs always seemed to be Ducky's best friend. Even like a father/son relationship. Abby Schuito was another person who Ducky really adored. It made the NCIS show have a closeness that made it extremely fun to watch. Whenever a show loses someone of the caliber of David McCollum it isn't an easy person to replace. Actually you can't replace a actor who was that important to the show, the fans, and the characters themselves. NCIS is a extremely rare show in that it's lasted as long as it has. David McCollum was one of the reasons for the shows success. Thank you David McCollum for your dedication and incredible talents. You will be missed by millions but forgotten by nobody. Your exceptional work will live on forever. God Bless him and his family and friends.
🙏🕊RIP🕊🙏 David McCollum.
He was like a father to Jimmy and a best friend
Rest in peace Dr Donald mallard
DUCK MAN FOREVER IN OUR HEARTS
This was fine acting. He started crying immediately upon realizing Ducky was gone even thought as a coroner he should have known when he laid his hand on his body. Denial. Then, it clicked when he laid his hand on his head.
Apparently, he wasn't gone long enough for there to be a smell of decay.
I wasn't ready and had just turned to NCIS to catch the opening scene, cruising through channels. It caught me, and I stayed. It had not been announced as far as I knew, and as far as I knew, there wasn't a trailer showing the coming show for Ducky's death. Glad I caught it.
Good job NCIS for doing this tastefully.
Update. March 18, 2024
They are replaying this this evening and I will admit, I was wrong on when Jimmy knew Ducky was dead.
That was when he knew. He knew as soon as he felt duckys temperature when he touched his hand.
@@troyjackson3832 We have different takes on that.
Script and directors.
He DID know when he touched his hand. You can tell even before he touches his hand that he suspects Ducky is dead. You need to rewatch the video. It's very obvious.

Bye-bye Ducky, you will be missed😢
Beautiful ending for a much loved character and actor. I know I'm not the only one who shed some tears.
Sad episode
Yes - very :)
Loved David McCallum.

RIP David McCallum (Ducky Mallard, Ilya Kiryakin) your talents will sorely missed. 😢
Thank you for your kind words
I didnt expect to start crying, but i did.
It’s an emotional time
Done tastefully with respect. Rest in Peace, Ducky/David.
The death of ducky was among the few episode of ncis i didnt saw
My brother named his Orange Tabby Fugue from Bach's music. She lived 20 years.
My favourite episode was the one with his mum. So bloody hilarious.
His corgi laying behind like, "I can't go back in there" 🥺😭
I'm not crying , you're crying.
Like that he named the dog after Napoleon Solo from the Man from UNCLE. Lol!
I honestly don't know how Brian did this scene. To put on that false cheeriness and then to have to discover the body.
Its called "acting". And he is a professional in that domain. That's why we love them so much.
what did Ducky look like when he was younger? He looked like Ilya Kuriacken :)
I cried like a baby. Had to pause the show because this ripped my heart out just as much when I read the actor himself died. 💔😭
You were a good doctor, a great man, and an even greater storyteller. Rest in peace, Ducky.
So amazing that they dug David up for this final cameo appearance! 🤣🤣🤣
I'm very sad 😢 RIP Ducky
Just seeing him laying there is just unreal. Ducky was more than just a character and David was more than a Actor he was a Legendary Icon in the crime tv era
Such a shame a great fellow scot safe in arms of Jesus David ducky macullum.sadly missed was wonderful as ducky in ncis .
"David says he's not at all religious in a formal sense--he finds it difficult to equate ministers preaching with certain aspects of the Christian religion--but he is deeply religious in a personal sense."
I like the detail of Palmer hesitating to check Ducky’s pulse, as if he knows he won’t get one but wants to check anyway to be sure.
RIP DUCKY ( DAVID Mc Callan) gonna miss you in NCIS ❤😢
I cried!!😢😢😢
Did I hear the dog's name - Solo? An homage to Man from Uncle?
Pleased they have written him out of the show. A mark of respect to a great actor who will be sadly missed. ❤
that's a bit of a weird comment.... why wouldn't they do that? The actor died, how else would they have fixed that? Putting another actor in his place would have been weird
I outright sobbed in this scene, even though I knew it was coming.
RIP David Mcallum 🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️
A truly felt heart moment. A great sadness of a loss in the show and in reality!
A touching tribute R.I.P. Ducky ❤
Beautifully done. ❤❤
Rest in peace Ducky.🙏😓🙏. 😭😭
We knew it was coming... but it didn't make it any less crushing...
His Jammie’s were monogrammed 😢💔
Rip luv him on this show
At least there was no pain, and he went peacefully. Gone but always remembered
0:27 :( The dog knows Ducky has died. Ducky died in his sleep. RIP David McCallum.
Oh Ducky…
My heart has officially been ripped out of my chest……

I love Ducky.

Miss you David McCallum. Rest in peace up in heaven 🙏
Man....that scene had to be tough for Brian Dietzen...
One of Scotland's best exports. May God rest his soul.
RIP Dr Mallard/ David McCallum😢
I don't think I could have made that phone call...
He was an extremely talented man. We will miss him
R.i.p. ducky...
That man was like a father to Jimmy.
Liked both of em sad ❤❤❤😢😢
He was the Beitish actor , that played the role of the Russian spy in the 60s - 70 tv series: Man from U.N.C.L.E.
That was ballzy to do since that was during th Cold War Era between the US and Russia.
Salute 🎉 to this great axtor .and his wonderful career ..
Musick was on point in the end
At least he wasn’t murdered like the other main characters we have seen died in the past
