My sapphire cosworth that I sold in 1997 , that was then completely wrote off turned up back on the road in 2021 . I can’t wait to see it at a show and ask some questions lol 😂
That's so weird, I had a Ford Focus that was a total loss after someone jettisoned a trailer into it and within 6 months it was back on the road. I suspect the insurance company sold it for more than the tight arse pay out I received !
Well done Andy it's usually a nightmare having to sort this with the DVLA but at least you have a clean logbook, usually they want so many original parts on the car before they will give you the log book standard engine axels and suspension, did they tell you the original colour and wether it was a lux 👍
Cheers, handling the DVLA was always going to be the hardest part of this ! I think it is a 909 because the slam panel isn't drilled for a VIN plate and it is indeed a white, non-descript generic "Escort Cosworth"
@@grizzlywears just be careful what picture's you send as if they see it stripped down they will ask you to put original shocks axle brakes etc of the same or similar year ,they will want you to put it back to stock before they will issue you a v5 if you ask on the cosworth forums there will be people who have been through this and can help you before you send the photos off 👍
Yeah, I heard someone ended up with a Q plate after an engine swap ! I have original axles, brakes, suspension, steering rack, engine, gearboxes, diffs, enough to hopefully show there are all original ford parts going back on it (to anybody with common sense and no agenda !)
Cheers, it's 3 recorded owners but I know the person who had it before me isn't on there and I don't know how many people had it while it was off the radar 👍
Take a look at the floor and see if there are any bolt holes that have been filled in. If it has been race or rallied it would have had a roll cage fitted and a harness that would have been bolted and welded to the body shell.

It still has the roll cage and harness mounts 👍
So why did DVLA say “Contact the Police” if the Police have no record of anything being illegal??
They wouldn't tell me due to data protection. I guess this means the next video will go along the lines of "The DVLA gave me a Q plate"
Good luck with the DVLA they only have 2 speeds slow and stop.
Cheers, they definitely have an out of date A to Z with a few choice pages omitted too !
Look forward to seeing the shell after blasting 😌 do you have all the parts and drive train ready ? @grizzlywears
Mostly yes... *SPOILER ALERT* I think a couple new floor pans wouldn't go a miss 🤣
Are you going to turn the car back to its standard original look or keep it as a track car ?
This car is originally a rally car. It would never have had road trim
Not an 909 if it has a chassis number
thinking it must be a motorsport 🤔
@@grizzlywears does the chassis begin WFOBXXGKAB
@@marcodeci3951 It does indeed 👍
@@grizzlywears Does it have a panel on the boot floor that’s riveted on to access the fuel pump
@@marcodeci3951 the original boot floor has been cut out
"You were only supposed to blow the bl"....never mind.
I recorded that somewhere in it but it got cut 🤣
