So, I was re-installing my World of Tanks mods, as I usually do after patching and saw those Clown Skins... I have seen these before, but I kinda reminded me that those were on the borderline being illegal mods in World of Tanks? What do you think? Should those mods be legal or illegal, forbidden mods in WoT?
And what we really need, is official in-game feature to see inside of the tank! :O
What do you think?
Enjoy the video! ;)

We really need this as a system in the game, like in War Thunder - 3D Models, would love it! And of course, skins alone are not going to make you better player, but I want to see it in the game available for everyone! ;)
How was your weekend btw?
I enjoyed mine... Yesterday was my 100% away from PC day, feelsgoodman! 🔥
The problem I can see is wg's refusal to add in human models, even in x-ray. Not to mention the amount of time and effort it would take to make up interior layouts for all the tanks that never existed beyond a small set of design characteristics like drivetrain, armament, and armour thickness (I assume the thing about human models is for the purpose of international ratings..?)
I would like this to be a thing for the garage but not in battle
Considering not all players know of, or install these mods, it basically counts as cheating as far as I'm concerned. Kind of explains why the community is so toxic.
Maybe Wargaming should just remove the resmods folder and balance the playfield for the whole community? I really don't understand how Wargaming thinks that creating unfair advantages in the game is good for the community and player base as a whole.
No let wot be different it's already trash compared to wt

In the garage? Absolutely a great idea for people to learn the weakspots.
But NEVER EVER in an actual match! NEVER!
There was an old mod back in the days that showed every weakspot in-game. Not sure if it got removed but I remember using it quite a lot, but I don't think it helped as much as you might think. Still need to hit in the right angles and be able to pen. Not that often you got the option to aim at specific parts.
@@auturgicflosculator2183 stop supporting something that will never happen? Seriously, are you stupid? If people show no support or voice no feedback, then how is someone supposed to know its something people want? Youre the equivalent of the girlfriend that never tells you whats wrong but expects you to just know. Youre obviously someone who uses the mod and is fucking terrified of it disappearing because without it, youre just another useless world of tanks player.
hear hear
I agree with you, I think it is great to be able to learn more about each tank. And although Dez didnt seem to hit that many critical points, I think that seeing critical points while in game while playing a brawling tank would be horrible. You would see a significant increase in ammorack detonations throughout each game.
I agree 100%
I have a solution. Just play the German TD line to the Grille 15, everything’s a weak spot!!!
Can't forget the English Shit Barn too.
Fair enough. But how do I make everybody else play them. New premium account feature?
Just use the fucking death star or shit barn
Ya Yeet define?
and then you shoot at the front of an Tier 8 VK 45.02A and bounce xD
WOT community:
-We need some simple, but needed adds like 3d module viewer etc
WG:
-We hear you! Here is a new tier 8 premium!!
WOT community:
-Are we a joke to you?
WG:
-NO! Just a cash cow, ahem....did you asked for more premium tanks?
Can we get Tier8 Premium arty?
@@neinniemals8357 dont give them ideas lol
i think this should be a crew skill for the gunner - you aim at certain area on the enemy tank and after a few seconds it would show you which module you're likely to damage (or injure in case of crew members)
and 3,2,1 DEZ got banned for using illigal mods....XD (hope not)
No WG ban randomly ppl, they check if you have a mod and roll a dice if you will be ban or not.
Guys i was just kidding...

We don't need these 'cheats' in game, but we sure as hell need them 'in garage'. How the hell are we supposed to know all this stuff otherwise???
This mod has been available to game since 6.6 lol
@America you do know 6.6 is when wot start supporting skin mods in 6.5 it did not support skin mods.
When i play in 2013 already have korean weakspot mod
@America I was a alpha tester I have the pz4/5 alpha and kv220 alpha, and I still play wot and also do warthunder. point is I wasn't saying you don't know anything I just know when mods like these were supported.
What’s it called the mod?
@@asifhussain9189 hit skin mod

Old Korean weakspot mod has been around for near 6 years I think. Nothing game breaking.
yeaa i remamber :)
This was a legal mode back in 2012-13 when I started to play. That's how I learned where to shot every tank. It's a great additions to the newcomers.
I don't play wot that much now.. But I sure watch all your videos still, and early 😊
Thanks mate, appreciate it!
I quit wot while ago
I'll take the advantage of someone taking an extra 2-3 seconds to try to pick/aim at a module that probably won't break anyways.
The mods that give the biggest advantages are the ones that no one tends to complain about. Team HP bars, HP circle around tanks on the mini-map, and light bulbs next to tanks that have been spotted are the three strongest legal mods you can equip.
wrong
1.: gundirection on minimap
2.: real penetration calculator
3.: wife opening the beer
All mods which effect the game in the battle in a meaningfull way should not be allowed in the first place.
@@wargearinternational7679 I'm right there with you. I've ran 100% vanilla for over a couple years now.
Zoom out mod is a huge advantage too. Not only for seeing more, incl tank orientation and gun direction, but also for auto-aim lock preparatory to a rush.
lol, they removed the mod from the multipack
But people are still using it.
What is the mods name? clown skins?
i also need the mod, if you find it like my comment so i get a notification
Dez it's been 3 years did you ever find out if this mod is legal or not?
Those skins dont influence too much the gameplay. THOSE ARE NOT WEAK SPOTS, like Dez called it. Weak spots are those where armour is thin. Game is played very fast nowadays, dont have time to aim at those spots and to penetrate reliabily!
I dont know why there's not a mod already, basically while you're in the garage, you can chop the tank right down the middle to look into the tank and see where everything is and every crewmember sits, and you can either look at the right side or left side of the tank
As a guy who uses this mod, its incredibly inconsistent. Sometimes you hit the ammo and it does nothing, Fire spots are pretty much useless, and other times you hit a crew slot and it takes out something entirely different. Its not that OP
Completely legal for me because you still need to pray for the RNG to allow you to damage the modules.
We bringing this back up again? Thought wargaming answered this question a long time ago?
Where is th e video on it?
There was a mod that made 3d renderings of the modules in a kind of see through tank, making it illegal because it wasnt just a skin, but you could see where to aim no matter the angle of the tank (not just the outside.)
looking at the Video this mod that shows ammo where the driver isss and so on you can see this up close and if the enemy is not in a hiding position but how most off uss are playng we hide in bushes and the only thing you see iss he shines in red .
We have this as default on console wot. Where it actually shows where everything is in 3D. I never knew PC didn't have this...
16:50 see-through hull mode is available in the console version, the tab is called modules and you can see all modules and where your crews sit. they don't tell who is who,but mostly you can assume by their positions.
I wish wot pc can take good things from wot console and vice versa. console version could use the detailed statistics showing for example how much adding equipment and skills contribute to reducing reload times, camo ratings etc.
Hi Dez, I think that an option to view tanks in this way in the garage would be great. I think it is a distraction in the game itself. If it was an option in the garage you could study tanks and apply it in the game. Great content as always. Cheers.
tops that man
Your are so true. I cant understand, why we have no armor modells and a module display in the garage. Or why they are still hidden stats in the game. I really dont get it. World of Warships shows a lot of basic stuff about the ships in the port, but the developer of WoT cant figure out how important are basic informations about the game. After freaking 8 years....
These aren't weakspots. These are the areas that have modules behind them.
Not the first time Dez messes up with mods. Last time it was the "illegal aim assist" with T49. That video didn't even feature any aim assist mod yet Dez accused the player of using one.
I remember this skins were used back in days, when Gold ammo cost real money and weakspots knowledge was important.
Not like today, when you need gold round to have at least chance to pen weakspot....
This is cheating. Also white destroyed tanks and tracks. Also improved auto aim. Just my opinion
2:19 not really to be honest. I read something that basically said "remember, these mods have been made by the community, and we can not check every one of them, so they might be not legal"
You saw yourself usability - in two games you took a look only at that Conqueror...
Technically, it is not legal. But WG don't care.
Typical..
technically it is legal. it does not change your game play or interact with the server to give you an edge over any other players in any way. it is only a skin. so even using the skin and still hitting those areas does not guarantee you getting an ammo rack or starting a fire. RNG takes care of that. you need to look at the actual list of mods not allowed and this is not on that list from WG.
It is legal, the only skin mods you cannot use are ones which display thickness of armour, the modules are able to be shown as they're not a guaranteed penetration location sometimes.
The colors on the Czech tank are not considered as camo, which is why the mod did not remove it. It is paint, and paint has no camo value.
ilegal for me, garage its ok, battle field no
Really? Why?
who the fuck cares sif its "ilegal" for you. Its "ilegal" for WG or is not, thats what people care about.
it looks like it is more of a educational purpese then game braking and it helps close the distance betwean the exp players and new players
Exactly, which is why I want to see it in the game, as a feature.
"purpose", "than", "breaking", you are welcome.
Agree, besides you need Elf eyes to actually see them from more that 100m
Yeah, as a garage feature like you have in warthunder, it would be better as it is easier to observe the tanks and there would be no concern that it somehow gives certain players an advantage.
Agree with Andreas Dorn, this mod is fine so long as it remains in the garage, but never in battle. It's cheating. Learn the areas - don't get them handed to you by a cheat in battle.
How is learning something cheating? What does it matter if the information comes to your brain from the screen or from your memory? This doesn't alter gameplay in any way. It's like using a second monitor to check out the modules.
Console peasants get the "x-ray" ability that shows where all modules (even the radio for whatever reason) and crew are. Though, when it comes to the crew, it is not specific.
Only in the garage and tech tree, though.
I would love it over here as well...
when I'm watching a video, and move my mouse as if it's going to change the view...
Nice. These Mods exist since 2011. Good work showing them after 8 years.
Had these skins. Doesn't help against the guy who already knows where the weakspots are and therefore reacts faster. So it's great for training but mostly gives no real advantage ingame. I could care less if anyone has the mod.
I think this, as a mod, should not be allowed, because it gives the players, who use this mod a definitive advantage in the game. But I like your idea of adding something like this into the game. A system in the garage where you can study weak spots and placements of modules would be neat. Just not during the battle please
Some guns are really accurate. Sabot rounds - y'know, the tungsten spike -- APCR for the unimaginative - travel really fast. Regardless, at ranges over 250m it's wisest to aim for center of mass. Keep the vids coming, Mr. TheNutz.
Hi! Not sure if someone haven’t already commented this but in WOT console there is actually a possibility to see all the modules of every tank.
If you can't figure out the basics, like ammo lives in the turret rear, engines live in the back of the hull, it's better to shoot the side than front, rear than sides, and knowing the value of permatracking an enemy if you can't hurt him yourself, and remembering that law enforcement and military are taught to aim for center of mass, then maybe Peggle is your game.
"Hey lets advertise a mod which gives players a clear advantage, therefore ruining the game for more players". GG Dez, 10/10 for style but -7,000,000 for good thinking.
Once, I one-shotted a full Hp IS-2 on my KV-1 the guy messaged me and called me a cheater, and I answered him "I honestly don't know how the fuck I did that..."
Who needs to have the clown mod when you can just pay to spam premium ammo for an entire battle? No weak spots then!
2D skins like this are and have been legal forever. 3D modelled weak spot models that show you the exact location of the modules and crew members inside the tank are completely illegal.
First. I view this as a nonissue, but I use them myself so some bias here. If others have the ability to memorize these locations and others don't, why put others at an instant disadvantage? It may help goldspam if the pen indicator was more dynamic. And sometimes you learn something you never realized. The spot above the O-Is tracks, for example. I had no idea it was a weakspot.
I understand the learning, it is awesome, the idea is awesome, but we need it in the game, official feature would be sick!
That is kinda the point, if you memorize something you should have advantage because you put some effort in it. And still it is something different to know where it is roughly and seeing it in battle. Seeing it makes you aim for it instead of shooting in its general direction
And I will occasionally get jokes from my clan mates about warpack, but I do not. I use Aslains. I understand this is a very controversial, complex and complicated issue. I use no mods expressly forbidden by Wargaming. I used the climbing path mod before Wargaming said no, and it was removed from Aslains and I never went hunting for it.
the wot console version has this feature. You can see all the vehicle modules/armor in the garage
That's not the same thing.
in the garage, maybe, yes, but in the game, DEFINETLY NOT. it would just bring down the skill ceiling even more.
I dont think this camo matters much in the battle because u have to take enemy out by doing every damage u possible can. Maybe distracting for me
Personally I think WOT should allow the customisation of ones own tank but not others
Considering you only have like, a 10% chance of damaging the ammo rack even when you do hit it, getting a critical on them is a bit of a crapshoot.
the places the skins are showing to shoot would be the places you would normally shoot it anyway
I just got into this game. I played warships for about a year back in 2016.
This was actually the first mod i got. I am not going to send 40 hours / week for 3 months to learn locations on each tank. So had this mod on for a few weeks, learned how and where different weaks spots are on tanks.
After a while, mod went out of date, and never reinstalled. Was a great way to learn the game without studying stupid 3d models.
edit: and as shown in this gameplay, you really can't even use it during a fight. You see the info on your teammates and learn the game passively at the start of every match. Although the mod version i had was weird, if i was too close to the tanks, the skin was fade off? but not bad
If you play on Wot on console. You can make the hull invisible and you can go to every module on the tank ( ammo-rack, crew, engine, etc.) And it highlights it on every tank in the game.
Hitzone skins are nearly as old as WoT itself. I actually learned the game by using them in my early days in WoT. Also they are pretty useful for all the incinerating missions.
In theory it's legal in the garage but not in a battle, because with eagle-eye this mod is actually extremely brutal. With autoloaders the damage you can deal is really filthy, focusing on fuel tanks or ammo racks.
Same dirtiness goes for derps and double barrels
Module skins might help new players or just bad ones but it really doesn't make much of a difference since the vast majority of modules are in the same relative place on every tank and any differences are easily memorized.
Hi Dez. There is an app for Android called Knowledge Base for WoT by Evgenii Bryl' that shows the same info as what you have shown. Very comprehensive app on all the tanks in WoT.
Yes but it hasn't been updated in a year, last patch update was 9.17 I think or 9.21 not really useful anymore
Might not be a big help for general gameplay, but I'd strongly consider installing those skins whenever a mission requires me to set a fire or whatever.
You can see it not exactly like that but you can see an model of a tank on world of tanks console and it will show the inside where the modules are and where the crew members are
I am with you on needing somthing like this in game. But maybe only up to t4 to help newer players get an idea on general weak point layout. Not sure about the white dead tank track thing though. Keep it up DEZ, you are the man.
I must say...looks pretty nice on tvp, black paint with that white wheel
I knew, know that the hit skin is a ban-able offense on NA, but not euor ru servers. Same as the white dead tanks. Why this is I have no clue. Must have opened up a hack of somekind?? Way back in like 14-15 i used these to learn location of ammo racks. Since then i have an idea of where they are located. I really wonder sometimes here lately if some arent using this skin on na. I get ammo racked on a regular basis on tanks i never had problems with before. Good job Man. Thanks and keep it coming.!!
I installed the mod when we had that ridiculous mission to set a tank on fire twice. I did it with my Comet shooting from close range at the designated marker. It helps in these situations, but honestly, I would have killed the poor guy sooner if I didn't take time to aim at the gas tank marker. It helps absolutely nothing otherwise.
Czech dubbing😍💪 on that first tank😁 lovelyy
dubbing.. děláš ostudu..
Should be available in garage of course but not in battle even though I doubt it will make a massive difference.
Great video dez! I like mods but I stopped using them long ago. Like 2014 sometime. But still super cool
more use of that mod is in garage, to get to know your tank and maybe for missions when you have make fire...
tnx4share ;)
To be Fair, there was a time where ANY KIND OF MOD wasnt any part of discussion... everybody was free to use it back in the days and it helped a lot... nowadays, its just fair to allow it once again to gave everybody a fair opportunity to learn... the veterans, who allready learned from it in the past... and the youngsters, to keep up with them... it is still kind of unfair for those who play vanilla... but in the end it is their own desiccion, if they use it to learn from it if if they dont...
how are you NOT getting ammo racked? if it were me as soon as im spotted not even 2 seconds BOOM im ammo racked
They've had skins like this since the the game began, shit loads of people probably still using them
It sucks how they made this mod illegal unless its paid through their warpack system
To be honest, the garage is garbage in many aspects. I still can't believe we have to click a million times just to move 1 crew member at a time and not all of them at the same time like Aslain does. This weak spot mod should be legal, at least on the garage.
Hello Dez!!!
do you feel it? the tanks are full of markers so the chance to get a hit at ore close by it is high. But in your mind you feel now hunted,sniped....every shoot is now an personal vendetta
and the big red hitmarkes will boost this feeling.
In my mind,if you install that option and sabotage your own good game....
The thing is this mod really doesn't do much in a game and him shooting that Conq in the side proves it. 4 shots into it's side at minimum 2/4 hit dead on where it is and the other 2 were pretty close yet no ammo rack damage, I'd rather not even use this mod as it just seems more like a hindrance at times, It would probably make someone hold their shot just trying to have a chance at hitting a Module and possibly miss out on damage meanwhile no matter where you shoot there's always a chance you're going to damage something anyways. Seems op on paper but has little to no effect in-game.
4 years later, the clown skins are still legal. I tried using them once but they ruined the game for me. I like looking at camo on tanks, not this mess. All of the areas are essentially the same on all tanks so just aim where you are sure a crew member or module is and fire.
I use the clown skins years ago. Gave up because they are impossible to see in many situations and I generally don’t have time to worry about hitting them; I shoot what I can see. And they make the game look like shit. I do use the colored hit markers. Makes it much easier to see where I am getting penned.
for me it seems to ruin the visual aspect....and by the look of it it doesn't make a difference for experienced players like you...but it might help the lesser players become more effective. At some time there were hitzones with colour so u know where armor is weaker but you had a lot of diferent color squares on the whole tank... even more clownier
If you have pride, it's illegal, if you are type of person that have no pride at all, sure just use it.
These skins where the first mods for the game! You can install these skin packs even before mod support! When i started the game and found out that this is possible (after beta) iinstalles this and used to learn weakspots on tanks.
Happy Easter Dez!
Thanks Dez
I've been using those skins some tome at the beginning, then you realise they are not 100% accurate. Then, when you became experienced player you know more or less where are the fuel tanks, ammo, drivers and radio....
That aiming mod, that shows where to shoot for best effect has been in the game and available for more than 5+ years and has not b een flagged or banned by WG. Some will use it and some will not, depending on their own ethical inclination.
I agree we do! (Also finally had a replay worth sending you Dez!)
👓 Yes, it is a legal hit skin, transparent hit skins are banned though.
This is great but with the current RNG bs shenanigans I can barely hit a tank at all (fully aimed in or not) let alone pick and choose where to surgically aim
The reason that they arent against the rules is because they only give a rough idea, because of the way the game handles the models
This game doesn't need any MODs.
I played vanilla for 3 yrs. Then I discovered Svatekl2's mod pack, and later, Aslain's. Aslain has around 300 mods in 1 pack. He's listed on WoT's Modhub. Can't play the vanilla game anymore.
Console actually has an in-game module viewer. It is extremely useful. It should be sth that WG should also bring to PC. But before that happens, if u want to see where the ammo racks, fuel tanks... on specific tanks are, the only way to do it is to have either a PS4 or and Xbox
you should have played a multi-shot heavy tank.
I think it would have been a better demonstration..
closer to the enemy,,
I remember WG saying it is allowed if it's just decals but if it's see trough it's banned.
I kinda want this in the game but only in garage and you should be able to look at every tank and their modules without first buying it. It would be a system that rewards interest in the game and willingness to learn.
those hit decals have no place in the live battles though.
War thunder also has a penetration thing (forgot what it was called), so what it does is that it shows the shell enter the tank and shows what the shell damages/destroys
Hello DEZ you sound great , your graphics razor sharp and crisp, I love the video quality noice work ; P
The way I see it is someone can remember all those weak spots , is it cheating for them to be able to remember all that? No it's not. All this does is help those who can't. All this does is help even the playing field between super pros and noobs / the people who just play for fun.
I kind of get your point , but using aids, tech or enhancements to allow someone to increase their abilities, is pretty much the broad definition of “cheating” in any form of competitive activity.
