I haven't heard this CLASSIC since over 20 YEARS AGO and whomever doesn't think that Prince had a GREAT voice is truly TONE DEAF. That Man had an ASTOUNDING voice especially singing in all those different octaves and changes.

This song leaves me speechless, breathless and knocks me over. Nothing touches me to my core like Prince's music and this song in particular. Just WOW. Otherworldly, heavenly, angelic. This is so silky, smooth, sultry, smoky...the perfect jazz for any mood. OMG, couldn't love this man more. 💜💜💜

“An Honest Man” is an honorable mention. Recorded during the Parade era along with Sexual Suicide. Even though very short with almost nothing but Prince’s voice throughout most of the track, I find “An Honest Man” very lonely, dark and poetically desperate. A man that will do just about anything in the world just to hear the words...”yes, I will love and trust you” from his so close, but out of reach close friend. Great vid💙☮️.
A much longer version of an honest man exists. I had a bootleg many years ago with different takes of the song, including the instrumental in the movie, and a faster tempo version with just piano. It was stolen and I've yet to come across it again. I had a friend who was a friend of Prince's brother Dewayne (how i got a copy).
My heart's been through it a thousand times. Yes the cost of being a genuine, caring, loving soul. We feel deeply, are affected deeply. It's unavoidable, it's who we are. Prince experienced pain, he was after all human. He shared so much with the world, through his music. Prince's voice is sheer heavenly perfection. Off the charts amazing!!! Love to all. B
