Dayle, sorry There were minis and micro Baguettes in the original run, the minis were slimmer than the current one with smaller square buckles and strap, and the micro was called Croisant instead of Baguette. Carrie owned both sizes: in season 6a episode 3 "The Perfect Present" she carries a blue satin mini with Swear-off-skis* in the buckle for her first night at Bergers (it looks squarer but it's basically the same size save the depth); and in season 2 episode 11 "Evolution" she carries a green sequin Croisant bag for the first time after she finally left some essentials at Big's (it's pretty much the same size es the original "micro" Baguettes from 2015 before they were resized in 2016 to what now it's called the Phone Pouch which may or may not have been discontinued when they realized it was now too close to the "Mini" so they might as well bring it back because I don't remember it being in production for like a decade at that point when most of the original baguette family was revamped in Spring 2019 with the sizing and construction we currently have) :) * 👀don't know who needs to hear this but this is how Swarovski is pronounced, pass it on
Dayle, every time I see your purple Peekaboo, my heart skips a beat. The tortoiseshell hardware is TO.DIE.FOR! But…then I see your MTO baguette with the gorgeous sequins and I think it is the clear winner. I have zero idea how I would choose! You have converted me from boring earth tones to vibrant colors! The purple is so flattering with your skin tone! 💜
My favourite is Peekaboo, I have a mini in bright pink and it’s the softest bag I’ve ever felt and always brings a smile to my face. Your mirror baguette though captures my heart. ❤️
Dayle, you are the one who inspired me to dip into the waters of FENDI. I not only dipped in those beautiful waters , but also regularly swim with my Mini Peekaboo. The color is a neutral as the Mini Peekaboo you display in today’s video is. I just loved yours and was hooked on the Fendi brand. I had to purchase a strap from Fendi that is of a webbing type soft material and the sweet SA helped me with that too. Thank you for another fantastic and informative video ~ Stephanie
Loved this story version of a comparison!!! I totally get what you’re saying about how the peekaboo is more of a bag that reflects your own style, whilst the baguette does its own thing. Loved it!!!
Maybe I'll look into buying a baguette this year. The peekaboo is my true love because I do feel like it's an expression of me as a person. I have one that is a skunk lol it's a quirky, practical, unique, surprisingly soft and bold. It's totally the type of bag that Fendi has lots of fun with. If people are open to the preloved market you can get the wildest designs and fabrics and styles.
I wish we had better access to the preloved market here in Australia. Especially exotics as they can’t be shipped to us without a CITIES certificate which makes it hard. Your peekaboo sounds amazing!
Love your colour collection, my fave is probably that sellier peekaboo because of the pebbled leather! I’ve just ordered the last bag on my LV wishlist so maybe I need to look at fendi next time ! I think they’ll definitely work with my style ❤
No contest - Peakaboo. Seriously, great video. For me I think the Baguette would be a much wiser choice because it would make a better every day bag. However, I wouldn’t be wise and I’d get the Peakaboo because it’s fabulous.
@@DaylesAddiction Yeah, the strap that comes with Baguettes is stupid. It's the only reason I returned mine. $900 more for a guitar strap that looked stupid because it was so super think. One day I'll get one.
It’s so interesting that everyone uses their bags dept on lifestyle. My baguettes are becoming my daily rides, with my peekaboo mini being my city break / holiday bag, and petite being my dinner date.
Hey Dayle, just caught your latest video and wow, your breakdown of the Fendi Baguette vs Peekaboo is spot on! I love how you delve into the nitty-gritty of each bag’s character. It’s like the Peekaboo is all about personal expression while the Baguette screams fashion statement. Your videos always make me feel like I’m chatting about bags with a good friend. Can’t wait to see what you have in store for us next. Keep up the fantastic work!
Absolutely love this video!! ❤️ And although I agree with your take, for me personally I love that I am the opposite here and maybe an exception! My first baguette was a regular and I desperately wanted a regular before I got my minis. And I love wearing it crossbody! I think my baguettes are completely about me - obviously I have less statements ones than you, but I do feel the ones I have reflect me in a more subtle way 😀. Also, although I’m starting to love the peekaboos I’m yet to find one that is all about me and feel at the moment it would be inconsistent with who I am 🤔. Such an interesting topic! By the way I adore your vintage baguette and a vintage one is next on my hit list if possible! 💕
That extra matching strap definitely changes the baguette totally - without that strap I do wonder if you’d say the same thing 😉 It’s a winning combination that’s for sure - you did so well to pick it up as it suits you so well.
@@DaylesAddictionThanks! ☺️ You’re probably right about the strap though - that’s the reason it works! Specially with the nappa leather baguette rather than the more statement pieces 🤔😊
I’m loving both my baguettes and now thinking about a peekaboo. I had one years ago and didn’t love it but I def bought the wrong one for me. The iseeu didn’t exist then - so I’m now more and more interested in that - would def be the small size for me. Fab video as always Dayle x
Fabulous as always! You’ve inspired me to finally pull the trigger and purchase the mini baguette I’ve had my eye on for quite a while now. It’s in a lovely bubble gum pink color and I absolutely love it! It makes me so happy every time I wear it or even look at it. Now I’m looking at a few mini peekaboos 😊
I love the peekaboo. For me it’s a simple, ladylike and sophisticated bag. When I wear it, I just know that it looks good and only those with good tastes are attracted to it haha. I have 2, a mini and small iseeu both in selleria. As for the baguette, I’m not yet convinced. For some reason I prefer the casual vibe of the Loewe puzzle bag and it looks better on me overall ☺️. I’m like Connor on this who loves a peekaboo and a puzzle.
Great video I have a Fendi Baguette on my wish list for 2024 and could not decide between the mini and the regular. I do know what you mean by the regular has it on personality and the Peekaboos are a reflection of you. It’s a great take on the difference between the two so I am most def leaning toward the mini. Love your practice takes on designer bags so keep up the content.
I’ve just bought my first Fendi baguette in fuchsia and I love it to bits - it makes me feel so happy! 💖💖💖 I love the look of a the Peekaboo but I think it’s a bit too formal for me.
Totally agree the peekaboo wears very well casually especially with runners and jeans. It has a formality about it that begs to be challenged! On the few occasions I swap bags, I am often torn between the Chanel classic and the peekaboo not my (one) baguette and the Chanel even though the latter two are a similar format and you would think them comparable. It’s because the first two are formal bags and I don’t dress formally and would never wear them formally - I like them dressed down, bit like dressing down with pearls you know. On the (boring) practical side though I resent the peekaboo for having two compartments as I constantly rummage between the two to find my things. That does deter me and wouldn’t buy another. Expensive lessons learned.
I love both the styles and they are so different. Your video spurred me to count my collection - 2 baguette, 1 mini baguette, 2 mini peekaboo and an MTO small isseu is on the way. I would definitely love to add more to my collection!! Thank you for sharing your thoughts on them. (Oh I have 3 nano baguette and you didn't cover them!)
The baguette is very practical to use daily. But, in leather, i find it uninspiring. In an interesting color with the Ff monogram, its more interesting but i get so many stares that i get self conscious. I was uninterested in the Peekaboo in the beginning. I thought its a bit plain. But i finally bought one last year and it really grows on you that it does becomes you more and more and with that, i love it more and more. I am looking at the multi pocket baguette but in the Romano leather. This one might interest me more than just the regular baguette. The multi pocket has attitude and I think it reflects my personality on a daily basis. As a side note, i brought the mini fendigraphy 20cm last year and i wore it during Nye fireworks and it was a standout.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts and an overview of your collection. It’s so interesting how our experience with the pieces changes how we feel about them.
I don’t own any Fendi bags. Yet! I love the look of the small peekaboo but it looks like it might weigh a lot with all the hardware and the divider. Is it heavy?
I am shocked you picked the peekaboo. And no sorry, i dont understand the whole the baguette is a bag in itself and the peekaboo is more the person😅 but that’s totally ok. Probably reflects my shallower sense in fashion😂😂❤
Ha ha, look I love them both but I think the baguette is easier to wear 💁🏻♀️ I think the peekaboo requires thought and can be super prim and proper or very relaxed and slouchy… it depends on who’s wearing it and their personality.
