Mr. Pride would come in every year during the New Mexico State Fair and play a set with the house band. A real honest person and a great human being.
Charley showed everyone respect and I grew listening to him. So glad that I have those memories. He didn't get caught up in racist comments. He was a true gentleman.

I was 5 years old my father introduced me to this amazing music of Charlie I was lucky enough to see him in Glasgow 5 times I broke my heart the night I read Charlie passed sadly 6 weeks later I lost my father I would like to thank the 2 men in my life that gave me my love of music

First time I heard Charlie Prides voice was 40 years ago on the high seas working on bord a Norwegian ship and crew, I was smitten by his voice it was different, how I don't know how to describe it, but I loved the zing in it. I managed to get tickets to see Charlie do a show at the London Palladium early 90s it was a great show Thanks for the music.
Lucky you. I saw Charley 7 or 8 times at Twin Towns Coolangatta. Never knew Merle performed in Australia but he visited in 98 but because he couldn't smoke on a train to Adelaide he returned home. Where fid you see this great man

I met Charley Pride in the 90's and he was so nice and humble.
In person this man was breathtaking. I met him in the late 70s and couldn't believe how gorgeous he was. A lifelong crush was started!!
