    My Tae Kwon Do instructor was the Head Instructor for the South Korean Army.
    When asked what the best defence to use against a gun?
    His reply was, “There is very little that you can do against a gun. The best defence is not to be there.”
    A wise man indeed.
    Cheers. 🇨🇦

It is same with this. You can Google about this and find scientific explanation for this. Human brain need to get information about what is happening and then send impulse to your hand to pull trigger, so if you put your gun on someones with good skill head or body he will half move to the side and half move gun to other side before you pull trigger. There is also some things that expert can do to prevent pistol to fire even if you pull trigger. Because of that experienced criminals and police officers or anyone other when trying to control you with gun will keep distance from you. I know one police officer who got shoot with his own gun because he was to close to criminal he was about to arrest and criminal was able to seize his gun.

    Would be interesting for one of those paintball handguns to be used in these demonstrations - the moment the 'shooter' feels threatened they fire (preferably in a public demonstation so he can get random volunteers to shoot). Would give you a better idea of how effective the techniques are while also forcing teachers to not promote things that won't work in a real context. Legit though, it seems disarms like this would only work on people who can't (e.g. forgot the safety catch) or don't want to shoot, taking advantage of that split second hesitation to turn the tables.

    what you have is chances of survival,... if you're lucky.
    if the other person has a weapon and you need to fight them, you need a weapon or shielding to even up the odds.

    He said he wasn't ready yet, so I said; "okay are you ready now?" He said yes, so I said "bang". We did this a few more times until he realised that disarming someone with a gun who is intent on shooting you, is impossible. Ah good times, so many laughs 😂😂

  • @calvinmurry1096
    @calvinmurry1096 3 года назад +3

    Man gun and knife disarms are nothing like the stuff they display. First thing is that you are going to get stuck before you even see the knife. And usually from the back. And they are going to bum rush you while stabbing like a jackhamner with one hand and grabbing and pushing you back with the other. They will never stand face to face with you fiddling with their knife. In the world of knife fighting the rule is that knives are to be felt and not seen. So get used to the idea of fighting while bleeding like a stuck pig. A lot of the fakesters like to display a certain knife. In the real world you may have to go up against an ice pick. A box cutter. A screw driver. You better know how to deal with each one on its own terms. And when they tell women to block and shout no. Well they forget that the weapon adds length. An attacker will drive right through that flimsy one arm block. So throw your arm up and shout no and see how easily yoyr attacker can reach you. And stab you. I used 2 hand blocks and i made sure to forcefully slam my blocks to overcome his moment. And at the same time I am moving my vital body parts in the opposite direction in order to compensate for knife length. I have been in a few knife duels. I don't care how good you think you are you are going to bleed. And god forbid you meet an experience knife fighter. You don't want to kick and all that. An experience knife fighter knows about the crotch. The alcock canal. And that fat artery in your thigh. I am 70 years old and in bad health. And i still can look in mirrors because the scars still bring nighmares.

    The tai chi being demonstrated in 2:48 is the push hands exercise, its purpose is not self defense exactly but it is a foundational exercise that has some core tai chi principles as follows: the movement originates from the bottom up, from the waist, and then goes on to demonstrate the extra range of motion added if the movement is done correctly. The principle of moving the base first and then the hands is developed independently in many different striking sports. In the case of tai chi it is only to "shove" the opponent away and makes no further claims to its application. The tai chi forms are first for health and exercise and second for their applications which can be picked and taken out from a particular sequence and then developed to the degree of strength, speed, and power if so desired. The first thing about gun defense is to get out of the line of fire, simultaneously reaching to the handgun with boths hands to take a step back effectively disarming and ending with the gun pointed at the oponent. So yes the one shown in the video here is crap.

    I've watched a couple of your videos now and just now i realised that almost all of these bullshido artists remind me of myself back when i was a kid (maybe 7 or 8) in elementary school and what my perception was of martial arts, self defense and all of this stuff at that time. I was a huge fan of karate- and especially ninja movies back then and i believed a lot of what i saw in these movies to be real or at least to be possible to some extend.
    When i now imagine, that i never would have developed further mentally, than elementary school kid level, maybe i would be practicing such bullshit techniques myself today. I'm so glad, i didn't stay a dumb kid who watched way too many movies. I'd rather let myself be entertained by the dumbfuckery of others anyways.
