Just got mine installed on my Svartpilen 401. I love the fact i was able to install them without buying an aftermarket bracket or support. They look pretty good. I just wish it had a hard bottom to get rid of some of the sag.
I've just received a pair of the XL (2 × 24lt - 48lt) panniers. I was worried that they would be too big, after seeing several smaller bikes with the L (2 × 14lt - 28lt). However, the dimensions aren't wildly different and the bulk of the XL pannier can be reduced with the supplied straps. The bags are extremely well made and appear to be more than fit for purpose. I'm looking forward to slinging them over my Royal Enfield Himalayan, and heading off for some adventures ❤
Did you mount them successfully? Tried to install this on my Scram 411 but seems like it needs a supporting frame/rack. Have you successfully installed them without a supporting rack?
@StoofP yes, they were fine without a rack. However, I have since added the RE pannier racks to provide a more substantial mounting system. Hitchcocks also sell a pillion seat delete, which allows better security for soft luggage and baggage. The other thing to consider is the position of the muffler, as the bags need to be clear.

Just two large rackless sidebags. Of course I understand the challenge, and perhaps it isn't possible without some kind of support, and perhaps it's possible to come up with some kind of metallic or even strong plastic contraption that would consist of only one rod and spacers that could be made to fit many bikes by having a simple telescopic construction and spacers to make it portrude from the bike in the right distance.
