I installed a factory fan kit on my '21 te300i. My bike came wired for it which made for a fast and simple install. Only cost about $100 at my local shop. Im a slow old fat guy so a fan deff helps keep the engine from overheating lol

HI Morgan on my 300xc I wiried the Tusk adjustable thermo ($39 rmatv) on to a stock KTM Spal fan that came off of a '15 exc dual sport. Thermo uses the radiator fin probe... same as the trail tech. It works great and you can mount it up on the frame near the tank vent and steering down tube were you can see the temp. Put a tiny zip tie through the rad fins to and around back of the temp probe to keep it from ever coming out. Cheers

Use the trailtec Style Switch! I used the billet Aluminium flange Style and it clogged Up after 100h and the bike used to Overheat. Plus cutting the Hose gives you another weak Point. I therefore Just fitted a regular Manual Switch and Turn the Fan on If necessary. Greets from Germany. Keep IT Up.

Another thermostat option is wiring the fan to the factor harness, and let the ECU control the fan like the factory fan.

Morgan, I'm using this kit on a '24 XC and debating the inline sensor same as you were. Did you ever install the inline sensor? Did you install it in on the hose that connects the two radiators at the bottom? Does this bottom hose effect flow, as it seem the smaller inline fitting is more restrictive? Am I overthinking this? 🤣

@@highlandcycles I’ve had the fan but didn’t install it. Your most recent situation has changed my mind. What fan will you putting on Loretta? Inline sensor or the fin in the radiator? Back to the inline, is the coolant temp in the bottom hoses reasonably close enough to the temp in the hoses at the top where the coolant is returning from the head, or has it cooled down too much by that point. There isn’t enough real estate to install the sensor in the return from the head

No. The Trail tech sensor requires a gauge to plug into that would then turn the fan on. You could get the TT gauge and make that work.
