Not meant to discourage anyone but make sure you remember, this will be hard, it will not happen overnight. Stay the course and don't get discouraged. Don't ever let the man get you down!
Your mention about the Dodge video, that is what I find super interesting. You never know what cool things will come about until you start trying! Thanks for the info!
One of the eventual challenges is maintaining integrity while earning money on RUclips. Promoting and endorsing products which are high value, accepting sponsorships from reputable brands only, and collaborating with companies which can deliver a great product to the customer. A good reputation takes a long time to earn, but a short time to lose.
mate your doing great growing consistently and having fun with money in the bank i struggle with consistency jobs and family take priority but being away from creating gives me time to plan the next adventure vid build the bikes to do it and set it up to flow smoothly, fun times bro hope your well cheers
The most amazing thing is that it's "only" been 5 years - the Norway Roadtrip videos, part 2 and 3 was the first ones I saw since they popped up in my feed for some reason, and then some other ones popped up here and there before I subscribed, and at the same time started thinking about making videos myself, which I've now finally started doing - so I subscribed to *every channel I could find* with this specific account to have all the "video making channels" in one place ... and looking back, that 800 subs video, just look at that youngster holding that balloon with 800 on it on the kitchen table, awesome moments :)
Hey Peter after years of saying someday, that someday for me is 1/1/24. Seeing your journey, along with a few others I decided that I needed to make the change. Thank you for sharing your experiences and your journey!
It’s hard and long road but I think at some point you can look at what you achieved and be really proud. Most important is to be consistent and patient. Hope we all can achieve our goals! Keep posting videos and thank you for this one! Real inspiration.
Thx a lot for your tips!👍🏻I also think consistancy is the most important point. Its really hard to be beneath main job, family etc. But almost the same message: If you will reach your goals or dreams, you have to work hard for it. I think you are a perfect example for that!💪🏻
I wanna open a YT channel and start making videos. There are some things that hold me back. One of which is if my ex friends and my family watch my videos. I would be so embarassed! I love creating, in fact I think that editing is the fun part. I also think that creating your channel let you develope lots of skills, but tbf I wouldn't treat it as an full time job in the long run because I love working with people, going outside; sure, you defintely can work with other youtubers or go to events when you grow, but I need human interaction. Love your videos Peter, you're very inspiring!
Five years. That’s awesome. Been going 7 and broke 50k subs and far far away from going full time. Running my tattoo studio comes first. Luckily I love my day job. 😊
Great video! Even as a small channel, random vendors of various products have already started approaching me to do reviews, quite often actually. As a small channel, they want to send me a product free of charge, in return they want a review video published and they offer affiliate links. Many I turn down because they just don't feel right, but I've done a few when the product looks like something I think I could get excited about. I always tell them I'm going to be honest with my viewers and if your product is terrible they will know it so don't send it to me if that is not ok. My question is, how selective should I be on these offers and second, at what point, or channel size, should I expect a payment above just free product for these reviews and collaborations? Excellent advice making videos if for no other reason to practice editing. That has been my philosophy as well. I have a long way to go but have to laugh at my old videos compared to the newer ones. So much better now.
Great video! Thanks for the information! I am going to take your advice on "review everything" as I start out. 🙂 Hey, I don't see a teleprompter in your gear list. Do you script everything or outline? Do you run off bulletpoints? Do you run start to finish, or do you remember potions at a time, then edit the segments together?
Easy answer - go to Iceland, take epic photos and make unforgettable videos, get a thumbnail like this one, done!! I'm kidding man - this is just great inspiration!!
Hey great video Don Peter!, wish you could bring back some of the editing tips for us again, I started learning DR cause of you, too bad FC it's kinda expensive for when you are on a budget, I want to ask you, how do you start the YT video from scratch? I mean what comes first? the script or the clips? how do you time your script to the clips? or do you take the clips according to the script? and, when you write the script, do you do it by thought? or you do it by clip? and final questions! how are you so buffed? I hit the gym 3 times a week and can't get big for the life or me man!😮💨
Hey Peter! Thank you for the insights. I have a question though. How do you start to get affiliate links? Just write to the companies you're interested in? And at what follower amount can you expect to actually get a deal with them? Cause surely they won't agree if you're a very small channel, right?
I have been building my channel for years and lemme break it for you peeps: most of us will fail. Why? Well, making consistent content is soul-sucking. Also, it depends on what content you make, tutorials are hard and the most watched content. These "cinematic" sequences were a trend in past years but it's dying and people watch such content less and less. Photography and videography space is over-saturated at this point. On top of all, you need to have something special that people will get hooked on. Let's face it, most of us are ugly and have poor storytelling skills. Peter is cool, he has biceps, which is "his thing". What do you have? If you don't know, first figure it out because no editing skill or gear will make people stay.
Thanks Peter. I often save product boxes for future content. Maybe I should just commit to making more quick product vids for more content. Also, can you touch on how to do affiliate links in a future video? I literally had a guy message me today and say he dropped $100 after watching my last video. Missed out on that commission
love your videos and the vlogs, you said it all here, the short answer to be a youtuber is to talk about brands, and this is really bad, youtube should give a chance to all those creators that just want to make videos, I think it became just a product review platform, an extension for the amazon site and the live section is no different, people streaming the camera review lmao, very bad
Have you ever thought about start workshops? For example, how to become a good RUclipsr? or learn how to film like a pro. Or how to manage the financial part as a RUclipsr. Or how to get over the fear of the camera and people watching you. If you start a workshop, I will be the first to visit you👍😊
I wanted to make my channel bigger but RUclips hates guns, I got a strike for putting a gun together, they removed some of my videos and half of my videos are demonitized
I have to say. I agree completely, however James Jani doesn’t have many videos, but has a huge following. So is it the amount of videos you have out there, or, the amount and decent content or.., just decent content? I’d imagine for the masses it’s quality x quantity but it can be done without the quantity. However I’d imagine, the fewer videos but very high views and subscribers, would mean really homing in on SEO etc
_I believe you learnt a lot because making 365 videos is not a joke, I'm sure you improved on everything, be it editing, story telling, hooks and so many others_
Not meant to discourage anyone but make sure you remember, this will be hard, it will not happen overnight. Stay the course and don't get discouraged. Don't ever let the man get you down!
Super inspired by you Peter, hoping to make it to that level some day aswell. Thanks for all you do!
Cool vid. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. It is really helpful.

Such a hard thing to balance. I’ve reduced the number of sponsorship partners to the brands I know provide value to my audience.
Love your Channel Carl

Right on man! Gotta practice before you preach and practice what you preach! Spot on!
Videos like this are so inspirational! Consistency is key, but is also the hardest part of RUclips 😱
Darnit! I knew I was doing something wrong, consistency! That's the key!
I would like a new cinematic video from you Peter…you’re super inspiring. 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻

That’s some great advice. I have really been thinking about buying that Samsung flip phone so I can make videos about it and with it.
Great video Pete! Thank You
Thanks for bringing this episode up it it not easy to be a youtuber as like you said in your video, do it and treat it as a business.

Final Cut 🫡

The more videos you do, the better the editor you’ll become.
I'm rubbish at the business side of RUclipsring!! Seriously.
But the most important thing is... luck! 😄
Luck usually comes to those who work hard 🤙🏼
Consistence is by far NOT everything.. i made 365 videos in 365 days. SO have in mind that you need key topics, etc.
