4:03 That's actually the Caspian Sea, Aral Sea used to be the 4th largest lake in the world until it started shrinking while the Caspian Sea is considered to be the largest lake in the world.
Exactly, the aral sea lost 90% of water due to Russian irrigation in 1960 onward
It loterally is so large they call it sea even tho it is a lake

Territories and the periodic table is what I plan to memorize next so I’m very pleased that Jack plans to learn territories. His mnemonics makes it so much easier, I’m trying to make my own for the periodic table
I don’t know if you already knew about this, but I recommend the periodic table song by asap science for learning the periodic table! It helped me learn what I know now! :))

How to remember Armenia Georgia and Azerbaijan. Georgia is looks like backwards Cyprus. And Azerbaijan has a exclave on the other side of Armenia.

They are so fun to learn, i learne them with the rest of the countries because it was strange for me how some islands were countries and other dont so it made it easier to know all of them

Look I’m also trying to learn all of the capital as well. My experience with learning so far has been good and fun most of the way through except when I forget one random capital but then remember it the next day. All I have left is Africa and I actually do know a bit of Africa already. I personally am having fun learning the capitals but I don’t know if Jack will. Cheers - Elite on 8/7/22 at 8:07 AM

For these quizzes you could have just named the country and the territories would have filled themselves, so on the Oceania one, you could have just written "France", and on the Caribbean one, you could have just written "France", "Netherlands", and "UK".
But I guess learning the territories could be nice too.

Yeah uh, never say that to the Cypriots...that'll start a conflict. So you might be wondering why Britain is there. When Cypriots wanted independence, Britain didn't want to give it up because of its strategic importance so as an independence agreement, Cyprus got independence while the UK got to keep its military base and installations. But that's just the British part, so why would this start a conflict? Simply put, the Greeks and the Turks hate each other. The Greeks wanted Enosis while the Turks wanted partition, and this led to riots. Makarios III was elected and was meant to be the neutral leader that would unite the communities peacefully. But that didn't happen because the Greek junta-backed EOKA-B overthrew him so Cyprus could join Greece. Now the agreement for independence was signed by Turkey and Greece and it stated that if the country tried to unite with Turkey or Greece, the other has the right to intervene. And that's what Turkey did. Resulting in the division we have today, and both EOKA-B in Cyprus and the Greek military junta in Greece to collapse.

Hey jack! Just wanted to say your content is great, but the quizzes aren’t harder with the higher numbers
The numbers are just there to show when they were released
For example, finish the map snippet xii isn’t like 5 times harder than finish the map snippet vi
For the territories you can just type the country they belong to; if you are missing territories it's always a good bet to do France and the UK, and the Netherlands is good in the Caribbean

So Tokelau is a bit of an interesting one history wise. Peruvian slave traders stole all the able-bodied men to work as laborers (majority died of dysentery and smallpox with only a few returning), because of this the atolls were repopulated with new Polynesian immigrants as well American, Portuguese, and German beachcombers who married the local women. The US claimed Tokelau between 1856 and 1979 because of privately owned Swains Island owned by an American family. This was settled in the Treaty of Tokehega where the US agreed Tokelau was NZ while NZ agreed Swains Island was American Samoa. They had two referendums in 2006 and 2007 for self-governance, both narrowly failed because while the Tokelauans DID vote for self-governance, it didn't meet the two-thirds majority requirement.
