Like others that commented here, I think you did an excellent job for an OOB Stuka and the weathering is just right, so many of us take weathering too far and learn our lessons along the way. You have some great skills young man, thanks for the great video.
very nice kit, the weathering effect is very nice and not overdone. I'm probably going to get one for myself, and slap a motor in the engine compartment
Thanks for sharing! The performance penalty of the a/c was severe enough; it never carried canons AND bombs. In fact bomb racks were removed, as well as in-wing armament. However, it still needed, and used a pitot tube. Besides screwing up the 37mm canons, Trumpeter screwed up the canopy framing of EVERY one of its Ju-87 kits. Many of the Ju-87's canopy frames were on the INSIDE surface of the plexiglass. Also, Trumpeter got the rivets wrong; a big portion on the Ju-87 were of the raised variety. Ironically, Airfix, 50 years ago, got the rivetting & the canopy framing correct on their 1/24 Ju-87B, released in 1975; it's still by far the best Ju-87B model on the market. Although the Ju-87 pilot had both lap & shoulder harness, the gunner only had a lapbelt, and his parachute was the gunner's seat cushion.
Glad I could help! If you want to know how i did any part just shoot me a message...I’m easy to reach on my model group in Facebook....same name, Model Makers Union....thanks so much for the interest and the kind words
Beautiful....Seems like you have the skills to be able to work out how to have that engine cover removable and displayed for either...Small magnets might work...Just be nice to see it about to take off...Great job...Nice work...Thanks for the vid....From the UK
Fantastic build. I’m building the same kit, I have got both versions in 1/24 the G2 and D5 both kits have the 37mm gun set in them. So I have corrected the G2 kit to the correct gun layout. You were right’ no bombs could be carried because of the weight of the guns.. But it does look good with them bomb in place. keep safe
Thank you! I had drilled the holes before doing the research lol...I wish trumpeter would give you some of the info considering they’ve provided all the parts
Model Makers Union, I know how you feel lol, it happen quit a lot, iI filled the holes that were not needed with plastic round rod sanded nearly to a blunt point. Then glued them in and when dry sniped them off and sanded. anyway no need to reply mate.
3:25 This circular thingy is the German equivalent of the so called flux valve. It gives signals to the radio compass for heading reference. It’s not range finding, it’s rather finding headings. If I recall correctly, in German it’s called „Kompasstochter“ which literally translates to „compass daughter“, meaning slave compass. The workmanship is very nice. Since each of the 37mm guns with attachments, ammo and pods weighed in at around 600-700 kg, I think the G version didn’t have any option to carry any additional bomb load together with those guns. The G was basically a D, but they increased the wingspan by about a meter to give the wing more lift to carry the gunnery. It probably could carry the bombs (the attachment points to mount the ETC 50 carriers were in the wing anyway), but not with the guns simultaneously.
Thanks for the info! Much appreciated....I did know about no payload with those guns but I had already painted the wings and had forgotten to fill the holes...that’s why I put the smallest ones I had in there lol
@@mrzzgo0ro0na I see...well, I guess the racks alone would have been sufficient to cover the holes...but, it’s your model and you can do as you are pleased. Sometimes I deliberately make such „mistakes“ on my models just for the fun of it. The sole reason being „because I can“...😊
@@mrzzgo0ro0na If it happens to you again to forget to fill some holes, this can be rectified too after painting. Take some plastic rod and shape it a bit comically to fit into the hole. Glue it in carefully, cut away the major portion, then scalpel away the remainder until satisfied. Finally, paint the plugs with a small brush.
I think it’s a great kit - if you were an unarmed bandit you could use a pen torch for the cockpit. Very tempting to leave that engine open but I think the kit would look better with it covered up - the ‘lines’ of the bird are broken up by that engine. Or else the engine looks too bland. I really like the paint job and that weathering on the pilots seat is awesome! - it really is a salient part of the cockpit and catches the eyes but what about the harness straps? At that scale… What references did you use?
Thank you for your comments…I agree with everything you’ve said but this was actually my 3rd aircraft ever and wanted to do it OOB…wasn’t willing to spend money on aftermarket at the time and had no scratchbuilding experience…I’ve done another since then and did it the way it should be…1/32 in winter whitewash
That is one of the kits I want to get to go with my airfix stuka there B you did a really great job on this you could enter it at the IMPS nationals and win a gold in the box stock category the thing I like about these larger scale kits you can add a lot of extra detail especially around the engine beautiful great job
Try the 1/24 Airfix F5 Hellcat...I bought it and its packed with details.....and 1000`s of parts lol few minor niggles but its basically a nice step forwards for airfix....outer detailing is excellent.
@@russouk +your right about the hellcat I bought it a week after it came out it gose nicely with my 1/24 scale Japanese zero from trumpeter's kit tho it doesn't have as much detail I also have there 1/24 scale seaplane version of the zero fighter
What a wonderful piece of work you have made from that kit. The video could be almost as good if you bought a small tripod to get rid of the wobblyvision..
If you take a look at the dimensions of the aircraft and compare them to the dimensions of the model, you will see that this kit is much nearer 1:20 than 1:24.
Most ww2 planes were dirty as hell...especially later on...they usually washed em with same water lol....germans usually just slapped some paint over the dirt when able...dirt me109 for example was regarded as extra camo
shame though...could've done so much more weathering and painting wise...especially since this kit is huge. I have it myself, but I have spend a bit more time on painting, weathering it and getting 3rd party stuff. Like the machinegun and the canons. But I guess you wanted just an OOB build...?

Awesome job mate, the crosses on the underside of the wings really did come out great!
Fabulous build, the detail in the cockpit even OOB is brilliant, well done.
Thank you very much...the only thing missing is the harness
Another fantastic build !! .. that paint is wicked 😉
Thanks! Many more to come!

Absolutely stunning work...so many modelers tend to overweather by a lot on the larger scale planes...you got it just right...
Thank you!
Awesome video. One thing: ¿Hasn´t got that trumpeter stuka more lenght that it should have?
Looks very good...that is a big model plane!
Nice job, looks amazing! Love the cannon Stukas. I have 1/32 scale Trumpeter, Rudel plane to build. Thanks you gave me a few ideas

Beautiful came out perfect I love it 👍
Thank you very much…it’s a really fun kit to build
Nice job sir. That's is a great Stuka love that it's in 24th scale.
Thank you very much
Thinking of getting this kit , looks nice , good work dude 👍🏻
Thanks man…it’s a great kit so have no fear
Espetacular seu kit amigo, parabéns, belissimo Stuka.
Beautiful build 😍
Thank you very much!
Man, that was a bare-bones the gunner had to sit in.
Totally! Definitely weren’t built for comfort lol

Very nice build.
I am doing a 1/48 P51D, bit too small of scale for level of detail attempted by Eduard.

How did you handle the instrument panel? Decals that came with the kit or aftermarket?
This kit was built OOB…no extra goodies for this one
In some pictures the engine supports are painted RLM 02
And sometimes they are natural aluminium? So are both accurate ?
Most likely...as the war neared the end, paint was scarce
