    I'm from Zagreb🇭🇷. In Zagreb I really like numerous, fancy caffe places, Zagreb offers just everything that you need from parties, cultural events, universities, Zagreb has Medvednica mountain which is a nature park and so close to city where many people find their peace, Zagreb has really good food and beer, for example Zagorski štrukli and Zlatni medo, Zagreb dialect ( purgerski sleng ) is really original and consists of many german words ( taubek= taube, ferije= ferien ), slang and archaism ( buraz= brother, šprehanje= courting, čagica= dance ) and today more of english ( šuze= shoes, tenks= thanks ). By the way, really like Poland and Polish people! One year ago talked to Polish old guy who was in Zagreb as a tourist and he was really friendly and nice, even could understand some of the languange when he speaked slowly. Our culture and history are quite similar ( especially Bijela Hrvatska ) and have been in Poland for 7 days couple years ago ( fall in love ). Velika podrška tebi, sestro! 🇵🇱🇭🇷❤

    I loved the video! I visited Wroclaw about a decade ago and loved it. We were only there for a day, but it was beautiful and oh-so-nice. I bought a little wooden, carved fox from a artist vendor. It was a pretty little fox that I named Wroclaw (Roe-claw like how an American would think it's pronounced XD). He sits on the top of my bookshelf with some other figures.

    I am from Scotland and have been in Wroclaw over 9 times. Nice clean city. Welcoming. Architecture to really enjoy (Opera House yes) great food for everyone. But the best bit, is you can travel around the city on the excellent tram network. You lucky people. Hope to get back this year after the enforced break with Covid, and stupid Brexit. Thanks for a great video. Concur with your thoughts of the city wholeheartedly.

    Hey Laura! Loved to learn a bit about Wroclaw through your impressions. I wasn't expecting at all, but I just received a letter of admission from the University of Wrocław and now I'm seriously considering to enroll and just go on this adventure! Btw, I'd definitely like to hear what your least favorite things about the city are.
    I'm from Salvador, Brazil, and my top 5 favorite things about living here probably are: 1) its vibrant Afro-Brazilian culture; 2) the local cuisine; 3) street parties in general, like Carnival; 4) there are stunning beaches all over the place; and 5) the Old Town baroque architecture.

What convinced me were the gnomes especially after discovering what they stand for :) I'm Estonian and right now I live in Sofia, Bulgaria, what I love eabout here is the chillness of the people. Before that I lived in Genoa, Italy and what I loved was the climate :P

The cities may not be as beautiful as Tallinn ;D .But the views are really beautiful. The cliffs, ocean beaches, lakes and mountains are great .I'm Polish ,so I cannot disagree that Wrocław is also a great choice ;D A mixture of Polish, German and Czech cultures. Really beautiful city. And yes these famous gnomes. I believe you will love it :D

    I'm so curious about actually living in Wroclaw be like. I told my Polish friend in the US that I have a plan to go to Warsaw to watch Chopin Competition next year then she told me to go straight to Wroclaw after watching the competition because Warsaw is boring. I'm curious to know what you think about Warsaw in comparison with Wroclaw.

    • @LauraMaliszewska
      @LauraMaliszewska  3 года назад +2

      I think both are amazing! Unfortunately, I haven't spent too much time in Warsaw to be able to give you my full opinion but every time I visited Warsaw, I had such a lovely time. Plus Warsaw's the vegan capital of Poland, so you can try out new restaurants every day! 💚You should definitely spend an equal amount of time in each of the cities to feel their vibes and decide which one resonates with you more.

      Warsaw is good for a weekend . Is few a nice placec there to see, like old town or the Lazienki Park where in the summer Chopin's pieces sometimes play , so you can sit on the grass and relax with this music .Warsaw and Wrocław are both worth visiting . So stay 1-2 days in Warsaw . Im sure you will love it

    Hey🖐🏼 May I ask about slightly personal thing. Coincidentally, your father was not a professor in Czestochowa? His last name was the same as yours and I know that his wife's name was Sophia. He was my professor for only a year, but he taught me a lot and inspired to pursue a career as a polyglot. I know that he died and I could not come to honor his memory, I also have no contact with his family. I will be very grateful for the answer.

He gave a few guest lectures at the University of Wrocław and it always made me smile to know that we have this link between us, but we never met in person. I'm sorry I can't be more helpful ❤
