MUST SEE Goose Shooting BEST EVER 1st September! EPIC

  • The BEST 1st of September I’ve ever had.
    We had to stop, because we can only process so much meat at once. It’s crazy to think that there is so much meat available, that the government won’t allow us to sell.
    These geese move on to fresh drillings once the fields have been worked over, meaning they can, do, and have written off entire fields of crop. Therefore reducing numbers by shooting is a necessary preventative measure. We only have a narrow window in which to take advantage of a fresh stubble field we can get “dug in” to.
    The fields are large, and the geese know to stay away from ditches and hedgerows.
    TOTAL BAG = 48 Geese picked up and 8 Mallard.
    Kit list: Winchester SX3 12g semi auto, using Teague extended choke (half), Fiocchi 35gram steel magnum number 3 shot cartridges.

    Bloody Nora Robin, I can honestly say I have never had a session on the geese like that. Top shooting by all 3 of you. Plenty of meat in the freezer for you all, but I reckon a couple more sessions are called for in that area to thin them out some more.

    may i ask robin what is the purpose of banging the bottom of your gun. is it just a habit to ready the shot?

    • @TeamFoxer
      @TeamFoxer  10 месяцев назад

      Sure, it’s because the shotkam is recoil activated. It has two modes, o/u or semi auto. But in semi auto it requires the bolt to be back. The action of the bolt being released forward is what starts the recording. Because I have my gun loaded and ready to go, the brief tap tricks it in to thinking you’ve just closed the bolt.

    Nice one. I agree we should be allowed to sell geese. What's with digging holes? Far too much effort. Use a ground sheet (if wet) and or a closed cell camping mat and a head board or haversack to support your head then cover legs with straw. This with a good camo and face mask works well, even on the marsh. We also had to stop shooting as they would not stay away from the decoys.

    Layout blinds. Trust me, you'll quickly learn to appreciate only having to dig a hole about 6" deep. Basically skim off the size of the base of the blind and set it up. Muuuuuch easier.😊
