  • I wanted a decent sized boom sprayer for weeds that I could use in the front of my tractor or skid steer. This would be pallet based and I would use the pallet forks to just drive it round. What I made is working great and I will continue to improve it.
Items I used to make it:
    Awesome remote on/off for 12 volt: amzn.to/3AtEGZf
A pump like the one I used: amzn.to/3lVgKtR
    Spray Heads I used: amzn.to/3lMMP7b

I have to say I really like the 12 volt remote on/off switch. I am diggin it. This is what I used: amzn.to/3CB5FnS It works great. This build was pretty easy and I really like the pallet fork design. Remember to like and subscribe! 👍

After looking at the products Tractor Supply has to offer, this is looking really good to me! I was looking at sprayers last year, and now that same sprayer at TS is 150 bucks more! AND the ratings SUCK on it. Cracking at the mounting bolts after a couple of uses. I've got a tote that is begging to be used. Thanks for your video and explaining so my Huskie and I can understand it!

@@bobbyfinn5406 Glad it was helpful. This cheap setup is still working and without issue. Not sure I would have been able to say that about the ones TSC and Northern Tool sell.

I really like that you put that on the front. The pallet fork idea is nice.

Thanks, that was the plan. I wanted to be able to see the spray and get right up to what I wanted when doing it. This makes it also work on my skid steer.

Plastic pallet very good idea , buy plastic lumber to replace the wood
    Great idea !

Thanks. Yeah, wood rots fast at my land. The moisture in the ground and the insects destroy a wooden pallet in no time.

Such a simple effect design. I'm going 15 gal and mount it in plastic garden cart and pull by hand. This has me very excited. Thank you for your video.

Sounds awesome. Let me know how it goes. This one has been working great. I have plans to change up the way I have it mounted to make it more sturdy, but it's doing the job.

Very economical build. I have my sprayer on the back of my truck, and have the pump connected to the trailer tail-light plug. That way, I can turn it on and off simply by turning the lights on and off, which is super convenient (Down Under)

You can put food coloring in your spray to see where you have sprayed.

Nice DIY setup. Looks like that was way cheaper than $1000 and seems to work great too. I need to do something like that.

Thanks 👍 If I had to buy everything again, I would say it was less than $100 to make it. This one was even cheaper because I had most of the stuff already.

I'm in the process of building a DIY sprayer and have been looking for other people's ideas to go along with mine and like your setup. I'm going to be using it to spray my horse arena as I pull my drag to keep the dust down. I have the same pump and clear 55-gallon drum as you. I'm looking at using a single spray nozzle that has a 16 ft swath. I plan on mounting everything on top of the drum so I can utilize my 3 point hitch. Great video and thanks for the ideas!

Awesome. Keep me updated on the build. I have done some changes to mine but I like the idea of one spray and mounting on top. That may be my next change.

Richard, how did it go with the 3-point hitch rig? I'm working on a similar approach with a 55-gal drum, but curious how you used your hitch to mount the drum. Thanks!

If you raise the boom to above the water level in the drum would loose the siphon effect and probably not need the valve

You can buy a normally closed solenoid valve and connect it together with the pump to prevent dripping

Might want to put a cheap little voltmeter on the battery so you don't discharge the battery too much and kill it.

It's a small 12v pump. 290 GPH (gallons per hour). Like this one: amzn.to/3QZ5DQ3
