Before you pull plugs out, get some little stickers of different colors, then put a red one on a plug, and red one on the socket it was removed from, etc. Same with Light Bulbs so you know which socket this bulb goes in, so you don't press the Brakes and your Reverse light turns on!
Very helpful video. I was able to snake the cable by just taking out the radio only. The red wire on the RCA cable was also hooked up to the positive of the reverse light with an extended piece of wire. The red wire on the radio end was connected to the Rear Camera+ wire on the back of my radio and RCA plugged into Rear Camera RCA input. 21:28
Thanks for the video just finished this on my caravan. Getting to the tail lights was the most annoying part of the install but in the end could have been worse. One thing i was able to do different though was go high in the ceiling area with my wire vs going low, to me that was much easier and mostly i was just able to push the wire in between the ceiling and trims didnt even pop off any panels until i got up front. In general I think it looks pretty clean.
Thank you for this. It was so helpful to see how some trim and parts snap on and off. You gave me the courage to pull apart THE WIFE's van. Camera installed successfully. Now... to find a video of how to put everything back together.
Do you have the same problem? - The clock keeps resetting and cannot sync with GPS. - WIFI connection. When I turn on the WIFI, then try to type PIN, 30 seconds later the WIFI is turned off automaticly. I am wondering why the wifi is turned off automatically so quickly.
This is nuts! Like I'm going to tear apart my van and try and figure out what's what in the spaghetti of wires and mazes hidden beneath the puzzle of panel pieces to install a back up camera. Your video may be help to some, but it convinced me even more to pay the extra buck to have the camera installed by a professional. Thanks anyway for taking the time.

Looking to install the ATOTO Backup Cam as I just got the S8 installed and the stock camera just looks so blurry because of the large screen. I bought the PAC adapter to retain the backup camera so I am wondering if you know, can I take the existing wires plugged into the stock camera and plug into the new ATOTO cam (slicing may be required I assume) that way I don't have to run wires from the front to back.
You will have to give it a try because my car did not have the OEM Camera so I had to run a wire. I don’t see why it wouldn’t work as the cable is a conductor that sends the video signal.
Let us know if it worked connecting via the adapter. I have a 2019 DGC SXT that I'm about to upgrade the existing factory 430 radio on. I want to retain the steering wheel controls, Backup cam and the SiriusXM that the 430 has... TIA :)
@@jdmotes69 So my setup was the ATOTO S8 Premium. Wiring Harness - PAC RP4-CH11 Wiring Interface. Once you use this harness and get the ATOTO booted you then open up the SWC app and can configure the buttons there. Additional Harness to retain backup camera AND rear screen entertainment - PAC CHYRVD Rear Seat Entertainment Cable I also bought the ATOTO dash cam and the ATOTO Video Out Adapter - USB to RCA (This connects to the PAC CHYRVD to output the ATOTO display to your rear screen). The install was super easy in the Dodge as I'm sure you've seen by watching videos on RUclips. This person here who I commented on did an install and it's as easy as he shows you. Lots of room to stuff the wires back there. Lemme know if you have any other questions. I did extensive research before buying all this stuff and am super happy with the headunit. It's been awesome for me and I can push Netflix/Disney/Tivimate/etc to the rear screen for my kids. I use Wireless CarPlay which is awesome (note if you do: Your phone battery drains pretty quick when using wireless so I bought a "cigarette" charger and just keep my phone charging when I use wireless carplay)
@Matt Bellamy Killer Matt! I'll research the S8 unit... I don't have the rear entertainment unit (ceiling screen) on my 2019, so it should make it a little easier. We're you still able to use your SiriusXM? I'd like to retain it, if possible. TIA 🤙
@@jdmotes69 Just a note you will still need that one adapter for the backup camera (literally one rca plug you are using). Sorry forgot about the Sirius. There is no support for Sirius and I’m not sure there is for any Android head unit, at least from all the ones I researched.
Hello, what if my caravan comes wt the oem camera? i saw youre other video of installing the apple/android stereo bit you're caravan didn't come wt oem stereo that comes wt camera like mine.
Did you guys figure anything out. I'm waiting for my stereo to come in but I also have an OEM camera so I wouldn't have to do all the extra stuff. But how do you connect it to the new stereo?
@@amailanigilson2504 I bought the Scosche CRTCR01 and had to take a dremel tool and grind out the inner parts (10 second fix). And it plugged right up. However, the camera quality isn’t as good as the OEM stereo somehow
If you're talking about feeding the ACC wire (red accessory) to the fuse box so the radio turns off when the car is off - i fed my red wire from the radio down kind of like he did with his wire in the video, then I shoved it through the same grommet that the hood latch goes through. Comes out in a neat spot and let's you connect the wire to an acc spot in the fuse box

Just keep the side curtain airbags in mind if you do this. Running cables over them isn’t ideal if they ever deploy!

Excellent! Thank you.
I think you need more caffeine.
Thanks very helpful.
will the camera turn on automatically when you back up if you wire it this way ?
Yes because as soon as you put the car in reverse, the vehicle send power to the reverse light which powers on the camera too.
The other question that I have is on the radio has an illumination where does that in the car or in the dashboard?

Hello, please try to reset the unit: Setting-Android setting-Reset and Restore-Reset. See if this fixes the issues.
Thanks for the help 😊
Hi Sami,
Any products links for the products you used for install? Wire harness, stereo, other adapters needed ?
Hello, links are updated on the description of the video.
Great video. This really helped me out. Your verbiage sounds like you are in my line of work. Any chance you are a tech for a telecom company?
Glad to hear. Not telecom in particular but I’m a IT technician though.
If you are in nyc, can you do my car too?
Where can plogue red wire on the radio
Good stuff CuZ
thanks but where can we get the videwo cable extension chord? and how to adjust the car volume on wheel to work?
You can find the cable on Amazon and as for the steering wheel buttons try contacting the vendor you purchased the screen from.

So if the van has cámara already you just plugged in on the new screen?
Unfortunately the OEM camera is not supported. You will have to replace it with the camera in the kit.

What's the white power cable from? It doesn't get power from the reverse light?
That’s the cable I used to tap into the reverse light wire. You can use any cable as long as it’s two conductors.
Hi any like where you got the camera? I installed the android system but it did not come with a back up camera.
Check the settings I think there is a way to change the video signal.
Good instructional video.
But his enthusiasm is underwhelming.

No I didn’t connect the red wire to anything because I used power from the reverse light.

Or go wireless ?
What size of wire tap did you use?
Do you know if the grand caravan has an interior fuse box? If so, where?
Do a quick google search. I don’t know off the top of my head. Perhaps near the glove box?
