Marc, I really appreciated this conversation and loved your personal vulnerability and how you invited Dr. Gross to share his story too. Your work has had a profound impact in my life and Permission to Feel is one of my main recommended resources for many parents and teachers I support. Thank you.
Another great talk. Dr. Gross is a source of knowledge, ideas, and hope for a better world. Love seeing scholars who are kind, down to earth, and willing to share their wisdom and experience. Thanks for having him, Dr. Brackett.😊
Thank you for your kind words. Dr. Gross is indeed a remarkable source of knowledge and inspiration. It’s always a pleasure to have conversations with scholars who are not only knowledgeable but also kind and down-to-earth. I’m glad you enjoyed the talk.
Thanks for this Dr. Brackett. Great dialogue here. Great help for refraiming things. I wish there was a more coalesced form of emotional regulation. We need more agreement cooperation in the field. Thank you for bringing this information together.
Great conversation. Identifying the emotion and then not ruminating on what could happen is the key. I put it into practice today and it got me through a situation surprising well even though I delivered bad news.
Thank you, Jeremy, for sharing your experience. Delivering bad news is never easy, but managing our emotions skillfully can indeed make a significant difference in how we navigate these challenging moments. Keep practicing, and remember, it's about progress, not perfection.
I loved to learn more about 🧠cognitive reappraisal with Dr. James Gross. Emotion regulation goes beyond simply controlling negative emotions. We should consider to feel them. It involves appreciating and understanding our emotions (positive and negative), recognizing their value, and taking action to address unhelpful emotions. By doing so, we can improve our well-being and navigate the complexities of the world more effectively. Thank you, Dr. Marc Brackett, to bring this valuable highlights.
Awesome discussion! This really got me thinking about how we can recognize those times we're stuck in our own heads and miss the chance to use these reframing techniques. Maybe we could explore some tips for identifying those moments in a future video?
You're in luck. Tomorrow, I have a video coming out on 'Reframing' and how we can use this technique in our daily lives. I'll send you a reminder tomorrow. =)
Such a practical , layman conversation to learn and re evaluate thinking and emotions in everyday life situations for ourselves and those we work and live with .
I really appreciate this interaction. I am so glad to listen to both of you because I am working on research to understand how emotion regulation (Reappraisal Model) is involved in self-efficacy (Bandura) of primary school teachers
Teachers play a critical role in shaping the emotional climate of their classrooms, and equipping them with effective emotion regulation strategies can have a profound impact on both teachers and students. I wish you the best of luck in your research!
