Bruce -- as a performer is great -- is doing a very credible and respectable cover of the Elvis classic "Burning Love" -- but at the same time, it goes to show why Elvis was Elvis and no one else, not even Bruce, will ever be.
Presley's version always had a fire few singers could capture. But I enjoyed this -- it's great that Bruce will always do an Elvis cover in concert to remind everyone...where it all started. That much I respect him for. Springsteen's effort is always commendable and Elvis would have appreciated it.

He tried to. The tale goes that when Born to Run was at Number One, in 1975, Time Magazine put Bruce on the cover. Bruce was in Memphis for a show and drove to Graceland and, clutching the issue of Time, climbed over the wall and was going to Elvis's house when the gate guard, Elvis's Uncle Vester Presley, stopped him and put him out at the gate, probably saying "Sure, sonny, you have the Number One record, right." Elvis might not even have been at the house? Possibly on tour?
