Zach Johnson, the “Millennial Farmer” is a 5th-generation farmer who’s spent his life growing, working, and learning on his family’s farm. His wit and dry sense of humor appeal to children and adults alike. A product of the millennial generation, his appreciation of new technology blends with his old-fashioned work ethic, and he offers a unique ability to deliver his message in a way that resonates with lifelong farmers as well as those with no knowledge of agriculture.
With growing consumer awareness about where their food comes from, Zach has identified the need for an independent voice from the front lines of agriculture. Zach actively promotes agriculture by sharing his day-to-day experiences in the agriculture world while providing farmer-to-farmer education to help facilitate a collaborative conversation between farmers and the public.

Hi
Hi
Commented 3 hours ago? Hmmm
How are you
i really appreciate your videos. thank you millennial farmer. best wishes to your family
My wife has been saying this for a long time and complains about it everyday. One of these days I will buy her a new mop handle.
😂😂😂
Get my mind out of the gutter !! That comment made me smile !👍👍👍👍
😂😂😂
Another underrated comment. Lol
Make sure it’s nice and thick so she can grip it properly to get the job done.
Someone get this man a label maker for his tool box drawers
>labeling
All that means is 2 months later you'll be finding a socket set in the wrench box
He will label every drawer Misc.
Label it all you want. You still have to put it back in the drawer.
“Nothing special, nothing crazy” - top of the line high country...... awesome pickup
Just missing the Duramax engine
He got the gas ton chevy??
@@charlesholmes3623 yes
@@charlesholmes3623 yeah looks like the gasser tailpipe. So it would be the new 6.6 gas engine
Boiling water on the regulator whenever it freezes up. Works every time
The actor playing Zach is really really getting into his role. outside when it's -20. Should win a Grammy, Emmy and Freedom medal for all his work.
What
I was expecting the first comment to say “That’s what she said”
Me too
I saw the title, came straight to chat, b4 vid even started just to say “7 inches short, that’s what she said”
Yes sure sounds like a personal problem
"I only go up to 6 inches and I'm short a couple bolts." Good thing you weren't short a couple nuts or that could really be interpreted wrong.🤣🤣
I reeeally wish he was missin some nuts🤣
Yea wanna hear a real funny 1990s radio and TV commercial. It was a Corn Nuts advertising talking about "busting a nut". Go look on RUclips...
ruclips.net/video/0htYFQzp5LU/видео.html
Something to consider...we keep all thread on hand up to 3/4” at all times. If we need a little a longer bolt, or something funky, we’ve got it on hand at the shop already. Often times we will weld a nut on one end of it , but have often welded up a piece of bar, angle, channel or whatever did the job. It has saved hundreds of 1/2 hour trips to town over the years.
“A while ago” they use to plant by throwing seeds on a field, a handful at the time !
I love progress.
I did that last fall on 1 acre 😂
Thanks for your time and the video. Lots of odds and ends getting the equipment setup with the new parts. Always an item you need to run for, never fails to happen. Bitter cold weather adds to our things to do list. Lot of things refuse to operate in bitter cold weather. Happy days. Believe that. Like the new pickup. Believe it is a high country model. Has some new options like push button tailgate , very handy. Thanks again for the video. Thanks to Becky for editing. Take care in the cold. Iowa farm boy from years ago.
“7 inches short” is what i put on my tinder profile.
here we go again with these...
Lol! Works every time!
@@MillennialFarmer 😂😂😂
Right off the bat thats what she said
@@MillennialFarmer That's what she said.
New camera settings and sound are spot on. Your heat tape is with my crowbar. Let me know, I’ll do the same.
For sure thought he was going into the house to "repurpose" a hair dryer when the heat gun was missing.
I like hair dryers for warming stuff because the are regulated to max out at around 140F lot harder to burn stuff than heat guns.
I needed one for cattle drinker. So I bought one last yr. wife found it in barn this summer. “You bought a new hair dryer for the cattle?” I said “well I couldn’t use yours”. WW $10 unit, secured plastic potato chip tube and stuck down supply pipe, closed drinker side. 15 minutes later it’s thawed. Best $10 I think I have spent
@@cmpphilip yea some of them heat guns can melt stuff that ain't metal!!! :) and some can do stuff to some metals even ;) a ''HAIR DRYER'' don't get as hot..... some duct/gorrillia tape and... ;) lol
Hair dryers sometimes work better because they move so much more air
I have a leveling kit on my 2015 silverado 2500. Black rims and 35's. Looks amazing. Keeps you looking back at it as you walk away thinking "dam that's a sexy truck"
A little tip... Hehehehe. Tack weld those 1/2" spacers to the bracket so that if/when the bolts loosen a scoach they won't fall out.
I spent 5 years helping my uncle on his farm during summer vacation from school. My first task when I arrived at the farm was to run around and familiarize myself with the location of tools and supplies. The first year was toughest-they don’t teach city kids what a gear puller, a a snap ring pliers, or a sky hook 🤔. Is in middle school! By the time I left, I could tell the difference between 1/2” and 9/16” nuts and bolts by sight. Wish I would have had a step counter just to see how much literal running I did finding things!
Gets a new 1 ton high country chevy says "nothing special nothing crazy" haha nice truck
Keep it clean Zach, there are kid’s watching.love to watch you videos and i love your dry sense of humor.
Black rims and a leveling kit would look so good on the pickup
I really enjoy your farm videos and seeing your family. You are like I was, not wearing safety glasses, then a trip to the ER to get a piece of steel out. No eye damage but had to wear an eye patch for 3 days. The steel in your eye will rust very fast and cause infection.
Camera is perfect. Picture is clear with high definition. Audio very clear. Great job. P
That’s what she said I said that out loud as soon as I seen the notification from yours truly haha 😂
Thank you Becky and Zach for sharing these great videos....
filler plates: phone call to the steel shop: 1/2" plate 5" high and 10 ft. long oops, you meant 10" long didn't you?
So with the heat tape what you should do is insulate the heat tape with insulation (armor-flex) basically armor-flex is what is wrapped around the freon pipes for your a/c with that outdoor temp so cold the heat tape won't get warm to intern warm up the regulator. Just started watching you great stuff.
It’s always a scavenger hunt when you need to find something that you never use
Watching you figure out the puzzles you run into is very entertaining.
When you always have to look for something and you cannot find it always stop looking for it because you always can find it so weird how that works 😂
SimpliSafe rocks! Been with them for years.
Simply Safe is so secure I'm going to post an inventory of my tools to the RUclips!
We have simpli safe in our shed and office. We love it! Easy to install and very reliable!!!!
Reads the title my mind that's what she said
I did the same thing 😂
That title was definitely that's what she said
Me too
Yep to me
Been on this same farm by new braunfels Texas for 64 years and after this past week of snow ice below freezing temps this past week my hat is off to you cause we don't do snow on a side not as soon as it drys it's corn planting time or actually about 10 days past
So glad Becky added the obvious phrase... Suprised Zach didnt mention it..
When I built farm equipment, we used to use plywood rectangles like 2'x3' and set them on trash cans. They were great for quick tables and also kept the trashcan close by. I used them almost every day and still at home now. Plus you can drag them around one handed, and replace the surface with any wood you have, like the sides of a crate or whatever. Great for a quick spray paint table too.
The "that's what she said" jokes just write themselves with that title...
I think these type videos are groovy Zach. Farmer engineering at it's best. Do not stop. Reference the temp; I'm in Oklahoma City. Very cold (-12 F) with alotta snow. Records are still falling. We are not prepared for Minnysoda cold down here.
"7 inches to short' THATS TOO EASY!!! THATS WHAT SHE SAID!!!! LOL
UAW598!!! I helped make that truck! Thanks Zach!
When you realize that RFID locator tag would have been great to put on the heat gun instead of the beer cooler.
Automatic tailgates are wonderful. Got it on my new Z74 Silverado,,I love it.
Never knew blizzards could reach Texas and February at that lol
We've had blizzards here as late as the end of March.
White pickups with black wheels look sharp in my opinion. Mine have chrome around the outer lip kinda like a fake beadlock look. Definitely level, especially if your upping the tire size!
I saw the title and was already thinking “that’s what she said” before I was done reading it😂😂
Don't worry Zach the last place you look is where you'll find the heat gun. Also I'll bet you find the heat tape after you go and buy another one.Usually that's what happens in my world.Your pickup looks fine the way it sits now.
"Truck's nothing special" he says as he pans past the High Country badge.....
I had a leveling kit put on my 19 super duty. Looks so much better, just make sure you put air bags on the back if you don’t like to be nose high when you pull a trailer.
The image quality is fantastic. Audio is still just passable- the quality changes dramatically from scene to scene and disrupts the flow of the video in my opinion.
Wow your new camera is great picture is way clearer and brighter. Sound was ok. Thanks
"7 inches short", damn; I have this problem the other way and still get "that's what she said" LOL. 😁
Definitely level kit!!! And black rims would look awesome on it!!
"I got a new pickup, nothing special nothing crazy"
>truck is 1 ton high country
Ya know nothin crazy. That’s my dream truck.
All that corn money from last year 😂 not to mention all that money Trump gave away to farmers before he left..... I would know cuz I bought me a new F-550 👍
@@johnsalcido5436Unfortunately, whatever you received from Trump, you’ll be paying back with interest over the next 4 years.
@@MisterTwister88 Don’t think so. I can only imagine how much money corn farmers made last year, even those affected by that wind storm. And then Trumps free money was a big cherry on top of that. Ehh money comes and goes anyways I’ll give you that 🤣🤣
Make sure you add tow hooks to the strip tiller, in case Jim gets to run it in the Spring.
Me watching this video realizing I am not the only one with a mess workshop
Zack, I'm no plumber/hvac guy, and maybe one may have already mentioned this, but I live in the Interior of AK and deal with -20°F. We litterally put our smaller cabin propane tanks inside because at about -30°F to -40°F the tanks freeze up.
Anywho, Ive installed some propane systems on remote cabins and all the regulators I've ever put in had to have the round flat part vertical. The one you have is 90° from the way we always install them.
Read the front of yours (which would be the top of ours) and see if it says "this side up"
I think it is because it vents out of there and the top of the flat circle is a vent shield so having it tipped on its side could be letting moisture into tbe vent and freezing it.
I may be wrong but might be worth a try.
You sir, have a lot of Nancy Kerrigan's laying around in those many of many tool boxes.
I use a dryer vent tube on the tail pipe of my truck to thaw stuff out. Works great.
“7 inches short” is the story of my life
Fuckin' same lol
Lmao 😂
I like the idea of the black and chrome wheels for the new truck
When all goes wrong we use the big guns aka a really big space heater
3inch front leveling kit and 2021 Denali wheels would look SICK!
I've been having a lot of those days lately as well. Constant running to town for parts. It gets pretty tiresome...
Thanks for the humor...takes my mind off other things.
I’ve always been curious, what has been the best tractor that was on the farm, and what was the worst?
NICE truck!! Definitely needs some nice chrome wheels. Fuel makes some nice ones., and yes a front level kit
Before i watch this I bet Zac will say ‘that’s what she said😂’
Have my simplisafe system already!! Ordered the outdoor kit to have a camera on my vehicles!! Love the system!!
$5.00 Corn 🌽 = New Truck!?!?
This decision was made before then
There are two things that will save your wrist. One is a step bit that allows you to increase the size of the hole in measured steps. The other is to use an impact driver with the drill bit. When the bit catches the driver will go into impact and keep drilling instead of twisting your arm off. I rarely use a regular drill anymore.
Just curious, are you going to have the clearance for the cooler when the machine is folded up? I know it looks good in the new location, just wondering if it would have any interference with anything else? Oh the joys of doing a retrofit from other equipment.
Go to a building center and pick up some sill seal insulation used on bottom plates of house walls. Wrap that around your regulator where heat tape is. Insulates it from wind and holds heat. Just make sure regulator vent is not covered.
....I don’t even have 7” to spare
That reminds me of when I was working on a browning hub. Took me 30 mins to get the belt on the beet lifter by myself. Was finishing the browning hub and snapped the last bolt. And didn’t have any more on hand so had to run to town to get some more. And had to take the belt off and the hub back apart. Really ruined my day when righty tighty became lefty loosie
You need to get a wide angle lens for that zv-1 it works good.
Truly appreciate this video! We're dealing with the polar thing here in Texas and you had me LOL-ing with the struggles you had at the beginning of the video...realized I'm not the only one. Hope y'all stay safe!
Whenever you talk about your aunt Hidris, I get confused because you never show her ;)
I sure do understand! I tried to break my wrist a few times this past week mounting new lights and hose guide rollers on our high pressure hose reel. As a mechanic, your always playing wrist breaking russian roulette when you drill! Lol
That's what she said. 😂😂
I like that look at the propane torch.
Oh, now I see it's your new truck that you got busted in.
It's always a bummer when I have to go work on the trucks or snowmobiles because then I can't watch you do it.
My wife has suggested that I am a little "short". I am suspicious how she is able to make that comparative suggestion.
Check out the zone off-road leveling kit that includes new upper control arms. Got one on my pickup and the ride didn't suffer from cranking the torsion keys like a lot of gm trucks do
That’s what my girlfriend said to me.
The heat tape and owners Manuel is in the same drawn the heat gun is. I enjoy the Chanel keep up the work and look for your channel.
Thats what she said...😆 🤣 😂
eye protection especially when reaming! I had a drill bit snap which cost me an eye and 3 months of rwcovery.
I’ve always wanted to move to the country. But I can’t because in only 14 and live in a city. 😐
Work hard, get a good job, maintain a good work ethic and eventually you will do it. I did.
I just prayed for you to be able to move to the country. God can do anything!I suggest you faithfully pray about it too.
@@ronkirby1362 thank you 🙏
You can move there someday but enjoy the city from now. Your able to meet up with your friends whenever u want, enjoy that, I've grown up in the country you barely get to see your friends.
Best 👏 Title 👏 Ever 👏
Hate being a couple inches short 😂😂
Level it out and black it out!!! My 2500hd work truck has a leveling kit on it and it looks nice!!!!! Do the black rims with that white though!! They look so sweet!
Hmmmm. I wonder how many “That’s what she said” jokes??
Filament incandescent bulb in a trouble light with a plastic bucket slot on side put down over the top of the regulator will solve all your woes.
*reads title* I bet you’ve heard that before Zac.
You're not so much watching farming videos but Infomercials for Simply Safe
An old manual is only a quick Google search away...
We picked up a GMC 3500 this past summer. Great truck! If you’re going to put aftermarket rims on I suggest not running them in salt. They will self destruct...unless they’re Alcoa aluminum.
Thats what she.... never mind, its already been commented about 7 million times! lol
Camera looks great. Love the 60 fps. Makes everything look so nice. It's auto focus is very sensitive.
Me: *sees the title*
Also me: thats what she said
Build a hinged cover over your regulator, and run a vent hose with a fan from your warm zone inside of your shop to blow on the regulator. This will keep it thawed, and the heat going....
