      I can say I have proof that God exists and so does Satan and demons/evil spirits. I was possessed by a demon or evil spirit which nearly destroyed and killed me. Not until I surrendered to the Lord Jesus and submitted did I become possessed by the Holy Spirit. I had a physical experience by both spiritual beings and what's more proof than a physical experience, not a opinion or thought or belief. You can't see electricity but it can surely physically affect you. Belief in God and upon death we will surely know and if atheists are wrong they will not be happy and have lost it all. If a believer is wrong he has lost nothing.

    • @machaiarcanum
      @machaiarcanum 3 года назад +11

      It boils down to:
      1) Reality exists
      2) Before that, it didn’t exist
      3) Therefore it had to be caused to exist from a state of non existence
      4) For something to cause reality to exist it cannot be a part of reality
      5) Therefore something that isn’t a part of reality caused it to exist
      (Reality being matter, space, and time. The something must therefore not be made of matter, not take up space, and not exist in time. Frank choses to call this something “God”)

    • @miltonwetherbee5489
      @miltonwetherbee5489 3 года назад +9

      @@machaiarcanum I would add 6) a non-conscious entity couldn't cause the state change from non-universe to universe without a cause that would need explaining, nor could it cause it sans some other cause causing it to create it as it would simply have to cause it eternally alongside it, which would make the universe eternal, and the universe can't be eternal.
      7) the entity must be conscious and therefore by definition God.

      @zeddicuszorrander3599 3 года назад +15

      His main point was that atheism is a better explanation because we are not inventing solutions when we don't know something. We are investigating to find solutions rather than just saying, "Well, if nobody has the answer, then I'll make up one." One of his supporting points was that every time humans have asserted a god caused some phenomenon, we have discovered that it wasn't a god, but a natural explanation.
      If you begin with the assumption that you have an answer, then you are likely to miss the answer when it's presented to you.

Farther than turning me into an atheist, it cemented my Christian Faith. The issue is, that whenever you drill down in a long series of philosophical and scientific themes or areas of interest, eventually, in the atheistic worldview, they run into trouble, be that they either no longer want to discuss it and make use of evasive tactics or make use of intellectual dishonesty to try to win. I don't symphatize with either approach, so I doubt that I will ever turn into one. Although The Bible doesn'tt have all the answers to all the questions and some narratives in it are of uneasy reconcilliation with what we currently "know" about science and possible "historical facts", the main purpose of The Bible is the transmission of some very inportant facts like the fall of the human race and thus it's separation from God and The only Way for reconcilliation, everything else are just mere dots and bits of a giant unmeasurable puzzle that might have or not some or much importance to some or all people through all of history... Depending on your due dilligence on the subject of The Bible, you will or won't accept some or most of it's narratives, poetry, symbology, miracles, prophesies, historicity, moral teachings, lifestyle choices and their inplications on individual and collective human fate, like real present consequences and real future ones like after life fate (Or after death 😁)... So, I'm still waiting for, not a good argument, because there is none, but at least a decent argument from the atheistic worldview that is interesting enough for me to at least consider worth of some of my scarce free time. If you know of one such argument, I will gladly receive it. thehitterman religion does not change to suit science. The Holy Bible= 66 books by 40 authors covering 1500 years of history. The way you prove the validity is humility. I will admit that the book of Judges is the first super heroes. But a man in that time would not have Mary be the first to see Jesus’ empty tomb. Also, after the slaughter of the Canonites God tells the Israelites not to go back to the field of battle until 3 and 7 days and not until after a good bath. This is God protecting them from disease, which was not ever discovered by science until MUCH later. This is why we say that atheism must steal from God to make their case. And to correct what you said, God is above the firmament, this is what is written and since the firmament is described as “where the birds fly,” so the sky is the firmament, therefore, God is ABOVE the sky. The atheist had to lie to say that the Bible lies. The bible does not condone slavery, if it did then we would not have Exodus. The Bible does not condone incest, Sodem and Gamorah were destroyed and only one family was saved because Lot was faithful to God but his wife did not listen and when she turned to look at the destruction she turned into a pillar of salt. He also said the evolution has been proven and done in a lab. Not Macro-evolution, and the fossile record only proves that something died and was buried very rapidly. And as far as a missing link goes, you need more than one, you need one for everything. And Lucy was a fabrication, guy got a grant and for the pelvis and then built the rest from pieces scattered from all over the place 50 miles and more apart. Then you have the issue of him saying “well, people have been above the sky and they didn’t see God”. Well, John Glenn, Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, Gus Grissom all people that went to space and all were believers until they died (save Buzz of course). And then Warner von Braun has Psalm 19:1 on his head stone.

Trace the origins of Evolution claiming to the raining on the rocks for millions of years. Careful when outside on Concrete wouldn't want to step on Grandpa. LOL
      Then we ended up as Fish in the Sea? Beaching ourselves close to death only to return to the safety of the water and we did this for millions of years until we eventually developed Lungs with a Skeleton structure with our brains and posable thumbs with Eye balls and tongues for tasting and communicating. Then as Apes evolve into what we are today. Highly unlikely if you thought about it more. To be intellectually consistent do you deny Objective Morality and Objective reality then? Atheist world view doesn't work without Objective morals and a Atheist has to steal from Gods holy laws written in their heart to justify their world view.
      If the earth and universe is millions of years old the amount of lifeforms existed would be Trillions upon Trillions. Where is your cross species fossils? Right now there is a whopping 0. But they do find Fossilized trees standing upright through several layers of Rock supposed as Eons of time. Did that help prove the earth is millions of years old? I have to answer Adam and the knowledge of the tree: The tree represents the choice of being with God or not. Of choosing to love Him or not. If Adam loved God, from the start, then the tree could've been put right in front of him. Adam and Eve would have not even looked at it simply because God said to not eat from it. True love respects the wishes of the one for which love is being manifested. That's what it all was. God said: can you love?. Humans said: not without first understand what love is not. And God knew that, knew that humans will not be able to produce love without experiencing suffering. If they could...well that would make them as God, perfect in love, so what would even be the point of having them? God makes gods?

    • @aletheiahenosis5962
      @aletheiahenosis5962 4 года назад +16

      He put the tree in the garden so that we could choose to love him, love is not love if it's not a choice, God had to put it there in order for Adam and Eve to be free creatures that can choose between loving God or loving sin, if he hadn't put it there we'd be forced to love him because we wouldn't have the option to not love him by sinning by choosing to eat of the tree, in short without the tree we wouldn't have the choice of not loving God therefore the only choice that would remain would be to love him and therefore we wouldn't be free, even if God knew we'd disobey him he still had to put it there in order to make us free.
      And about the baby argument, how does he know that if those babies didn't have cancer and lived out their lives they would've lived a good life and not one with more suffering?God let those babies have cancer because the babies would've been better off than if they lived, and all babies go to heaven because they can't choose him or not therefore they are judged by what they know which is nothing therefore they go to heaven instead of suffering on earth.

He would say nothing, because there’s no validation without an absolute. So, he would be merely making noise, nothing worthy of hearing. At least with an absolute, you know you’re looking for something. So, you’re willing to give a hearing to see if it’s what you’re looking for. He keeps saying “society”. What society? Society is a group of people that have come together upon an absolute. But then that’s what he’s arguing against.

    I am a Christian but I really respect Silverman for maintaining intellectual consistency through his objective morality points. Many times people will claim morality is subjective but then make objective claims. I thought his response was and point of view was very valid (until his closing remarks where he some what back tracked but I chalk that up to him not feeling good and just giving a generic set of closing remarks).
    Addressing Silvermans contention with God placing the tree of life in a place where he knew Adam would fall into sin. Turek seemed to stumble through this answer but I think the answer is simpler than we make it. That is God values the free will choice of love (heaven) over the pain of permanent separation (hell). Put another way, it is worth it to him to lose some of his creation for eternity if it means genuine love for the rest. You may not like that answer, it may be hard to wrestle with, but it seems to be the plan that was put into play. As Christians I do not think we should run from it but rather just embrace God's decision there.

However, we don't have a problem taking credit for the rewards of good decisions. When questioned by God, the first thing Adam did was blame God for giving him Eve.
      Lastly, it reminds me of Deuteronomy 8. God said He led them through the wilderness to know what was in their hearts. God knew their hearts very well but they didn't know what was in them. So it is with us. Most times, we don't know what's in our heart (good or bad) until we're tested.

      In a sense, they do, coming from a Christian myself. The reason why he may not give much evidence in support of Atheism being true is because as he said throughout their rebuttals, it’s just a realistic viewpoint of the world and that there are questions that don’t have a definitive answer, similar to Christian theistic views. We can’t physically see God himself today, but through His word we can speculate on how everything came to be as well as other questions. For Atheism, they can determine how the universe and all humanity came to be with hypothesis and theories based on scientific laws and research.
      Despite our differences, I admire both sides for putting in effort to make finding solutions to these philosophical questions more accessible.

    God is responsible for freewill. Which means you have to have options. Which means you have and will have access to both good and bad options/choices and ability to choose either. The tree in the garden was merely an OPTION. Adam nor Eve were required to eat it. If there had not been a forbidden tree (which represents sin and the ability to choose it), then there would have been no real freewill. I must have options to have freewill. Second, even though God knows the outcome, doesn't mean He made the outcome when it comes to humans. He lets humans choose. THEY make their choices. Babies with cancer is the fault of humans on SEVERAL levels. We have all kinds of extra diseases and issues on this planet (plastic, Pollution) because of things WE do. At around 46 minutes David said if there's just one supernatural event he would change his mind.
      We'll look up Lee Strobel miracles at around 23 minutes
      He tells the story of a medically verified miracle in the 20th century verified by two Doctors at the Mayo clinic.
      A young Christian lady had Ms and was in hospice.
      Mostly blind incontinent practically paralyzed from the disease.
      She was in that condition for 7 years.
      She was about to die since "there's nothing more we can do" the doctors sent her home to die in peace.
      Well as a last resort the family told a Christian radio station to pray and send word out to pray for her.
      At least 400 people did.
      Instantaneously She heard Jesus voice telling her to get up.
      She saw a great light but since she was mostly blind light is all she saw.
      She called her perants in and got up COMPLETELY HEALED no slow road to recovery
      COMPLETELY HEALED!!!.
      THIS was verified by the Two Doctors (they wrote books about it)and hundreds of people in her town.
      Now you could shrug your shoulders and say she's lying but would you lie in bed using the bathroom on yourself for seven years to trick people into believing in evolution.
      Imagine if this happened to Steven Hawking (her situation was worse than his at least he could see and roll around his wheel chair.)
      Everyone would be talking about it.
      But because it happened to some "nobody" it doesn't get any attention.
      Anyway God does this kind of stuff all the time.
      But of course if you made up your mind you wouldn't look up this stuff.
      There's plenty of books out there about miracles just browse one at the book store.

    On the tree in the Garden, if God doesn't give the tree which we can just refer to as the choice between good and evil then we don't have free will, it's literally called the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Too me it's either literal or a representation of how God gave us free will. Without the knowledge of what is good and evil you don't have the choice to choose between the two, this was necessary for free will to be a thing. David is assuming God could have given us free will without evil, but that just seems like a contradiction to me, it's breaking the laws of logic. Just an idea that I thought of while listening to them go back and forth to no avail.

    This debate is Theism vs Atheism; not is Christianity true or not. All Silverman did was bring up “god of the gaps” and then say why the Bible and Christianity makes more sense. The debate isn’t “does God exist”. Jeffrey Jay Lowder actually does a great job to find and provide his points/evidence that makes a case naturalism in his debate with Frank (it’s a different thing whether you think it’s true/makes sense but he made real arguments). And since Silverman is attacking (or arguing against) Christianity, you can tell he doesn’t understand it at all or anything about the Bible. I don’t know why he doesn’t like the God of the Bible that doesn’t exist in his world, and keeps arguing against that when he should be arguing against ALL of theism and making points for atheism. I really wish these people that debate Frank understood what the debate was, like J.J. Lowder, not “why is Christianity right/wrong” but instead “theism vs atheism”.
