One suggestion is to extend the cardboard and wood chips about a foot outside the garden fence to help keep weeds out.

One of our local firefighters has a tree trimming service. I can get as much free wood chips as I want from him, delivered. Just be careful that it’s not a diseased tree they are cutting down. Also ask your county for who they contract with to trim trees, then contact that company. Just a few suggestions

Hi there one suggestion that has worked great for us here in Eastern Ontario. Reach out to your local hydro crews, landscapers and tree removal guys. Tell them all that you are offering a place for them to dump their woodchips for free. Play a little reverse phycology with them. Worked great for us

Once again like that your keeping it real! 🤪 I gain and give helpful tips on Facebook groups I’m sure your areas has a FB group. Row by Row is another source on FB (Hoss Tools) is a good one! For moving them outside, my first though was buying a skinny/tall shelf from Amazon and then moving that shelf with a dolly. You’d need the shelves skinny enough for the door, but I was thinking like a catering company. They roll their trays to their vans. Not sure the dirt would allow you to do that, but a dolly sure would! :)
And I feel you. Every morning/evening I am moving my plants from the lights to/from the patio because we are still sometimes having nights below 45. It’s a pain!

great job! maybe, don't take the flats back/forth for hardening-off ; put a frost-cloth over top, or two/three layers based on how much you have, and would they survive that without major setbacks? you could try that... good luck! nice garden!

Moving trays in and out is the worst! I don't have a greenhouse so I have to move my trays from inside the house, (it's hard enough on my back & its even more difficult with a 2 year old that is constantly trying to help carry trays 🥵) I would love to figure out a better system! It's nice on weekends at least when my husband or 8 y.o. can help! But I couldn't imagine having as many as you! For YEARS I had 2 very generic fluorescent grow lights (1 in each shelf 😆) and I would have to take all of my trays outside every day to supplement the light. Last year I finally invested in a couple better grow lights & then this year I invested in even more since I'm growing on a much larger scale for the cut flower garden. It's so worth the investment when you think about all the time (& back pain) it's saving you! I had 8 yards of compost delivered that ended up being a lot lower quality than usual, so I used a metal rake and raked out a bunch of the larger pieces of wood & stuff into the walkways. But contact chipdrop. They have places all over the world where you can get them free!

Hardening off might just be my least favorite chore! I’ll def look into chipdrop!

Be careful with those earwigs. I had a ton in my garden last year that almost killed everything, luckily I got to them in time and only lost a few plants. I ended up putting traps out that helped significantly. I would do that before you plant along with the nematodes, because earwigs love seedlings, especially if you direct sow, they will kill a sprout as soon as it comes up overnight. for my traps, i put a shallow bowl out at night with a few inches of beer and a layer of olive oil (cheap from costco) on top. they are attracted to it, and fall in and cant get out. in the morning, i strain out the earwigs and feed them to the chickens.

My barren garden setup is similar to yours. Zone 7b as well and have a fenced 1 acre plot for gardening. I got a ton of aged horse compost and was going to mix it to the tilled land. But many say that I'll need more organic materials. What else did you add to your soil besides the compost and what were your results? Also how did you water? Did you set up a drip irrigation system or hand water?

Anyone who believes and calls on the name of Jesus is forgiven his sins, because He is God who took human form and offered Himself as a sacrifice for your sins. Watch for the imminent appearance of Satan on earth where he will impersonate Jesus. Jesus was eating at Simon's house (Simon was a leper whom Jesus had healed) a few days before His crucifixion when a woman arrived with a box of priceless ointment and anointed Him with the contents. The disciples thought the woman was crazy because she could have sold the ointment and given the money to the needy. She had anointed him for burial, Jesus said, and he commanded that what he had done be reported so that she would be remembered wherever the gospel was preached.
