Starting an In Ground Vegetable Garden

- This week we're jumping into a new adventure - starting an in-ground vegetable garden. I've dabbled in a bit of gardening over the past couple years (and by that I mean I've grown a few plants in a couple small raised beds 😅), but I've been dreaming and scheming of expanding to a larger one for a while now!
Join us this week as we put in our very first in-ground garden! Do I have any idea what I'm doing?
Nope.
But we're ready to learn as we go!
I would hope we end up with at least two vegetables at the end of all this. If not, I may cry ... and also be quite embarrassed 😂

Love family working together
I hope your garden was fruitful. But I love seeing your family learn how to garden together!❤
Looks great!!! Cant wait to see the next update video of it😊
We did a small three tiered planter box veggie garden a couple years ago and got several off it. Im sure you’ll get plenty of vegetables out of this garden!
That’s encouraging! It’s fun to learn all about it
Is there a follow up video to this? Would love to see it later in the season. Gardening is all about learning and persistence. Even if the harvest isn’t what you’re hoping for, it’s still an experience to learn from.
Unfortunately, I didn't get a video later in the season. But it actually did really well! We were very happy with it for a first attempt!
Did you get any vegetables out of doing it exactly like this?
I apologize that I didn't get a good "after" video. But, yes! It actually did surprisingly well. We had a good harvest of everything and enough cucumbers, jalapenos, beets, and tomatoes to can. We're going to plant half of this size this year and I'll get an 'after" video this time!
I watched this, and the tilling part was interesting, but here is an unsolicited thought: You are an engineer by training, right? I'd really like to see you tackle a project that requires you to marry your technical knowledge with your craftsman skills. Show us how you approached the problem, devised a solution and then constructed it. And, at the risk of sounding like a grumpy old man, I get that you love your kids and like to show how you involve them in activities such as planting (and there probably is a place for that), but the videos I've enjoyed the most are the ones where the time was spent explaining the project and focusing on how you did it. Honestly, every time I watch you I think "with a little focus, a better production values, she could be April Wilkerson." Just saying...
