As of 22.11.2024, 161 has been withdrawn from Ipswich Buses fleet. I'd assume it's because of it's age but also to standardise the fleet (to make it presumably more ADL). SN57 DCX has been the only Wright bus vehicle at Ipswich Buses for a while.

    Great video 👍
Definitely a beast that bus. She really is quite special. Shame the other 2 Wright eclipse Urbans from the fleet have been transferred.
Unfortunately 161 doesn't have long left in the fleet until its replaced. Is a Much better bus than the far too common Envrio 200 on the Ipswich buses fleet.
Good job First Ipswich still have some left as well.
Much better than those horrible streetlites we recived from wales that are having many problems.

I agree, those AU58-plate Wright Eclipses that Ipswich Reds operate are still going strong after 15 years. Rode two of them plus four BF12-plate Wright Eclipse 2s earlier this year, and those are far better than those rattling Streetlites.

Yep they still are, although there's only 7 wright eclipse urbans left their much better than those ugly streetlites.
First Ipswich now has a total of 5 Streetlites. 4 from Wales and 1 from Norwich.
The 4 from Wales have been rubbish too many mechanical issues. If we ever get brand new single deckers I expect they'll be the first to be transferred.
Ipswich Drivers hate them from what I hear as well.
Worst product Wright bus have ever made. Much prefer the Streetdecks and Wright eclipse 2s over those hideous streetlites.
Shame the Adl 200s won't be around for much longer either as their replaced by the streetlites
