Nice musical bus ZF transmission much better than buses that have hardly any noise and same engine tone whatever the speed lol

Enjoyable but puzzled cos i thought i knew Essex well and didht recingnize any of the town or estates then found it was Braintree which i have only visited once by train to town centre then walked to shopping area years ago its great how the Optare Solo big windows give a good view out of the windows for a video !

Been on Ipswich Citaros from Tower Ramparts Station to Ipswich Rail Station you are right they look very European inside pity interior colours so dark but all three up for sale awaiting a buyer probs cos they are non standard in the fleet !

Great video 👍 Definitely one of 3 favourite single deckers. The wright eclipse urbans really are great buses, even better when they've got a volvo B7RLE engine. Will miss them when FEC Ipswich get rid of theirs. Bad enough Ipswich buses 161 has been stood down. Lucky you caught this one if its very rarely in service, love the interior on this one i must say

The day I filmed that bus, was the last time it was out in service (doesn't mean it's withdrawn). 470 has very minimal outings now unfortunately. But still, its a great Eclipse and I'm glad I catched it!

As of 22.11.2024, 161 has been withdrawn from Ipswich Buses fleet. I'd assume it's because of it's age but also to standardise the fleet (to make it presumably more ADL). SN57 DCX has been the only Wright bus vehicle at Ipswich Buses for a while.
