Same problem with my Unimog in Eastern Poland...road tyres no good in clay.......I fitted Michelin Power CL which is a loader tyre, not really rated for speed but has done asphalt at up to 70kph for long periods and does not even get hot. No problems with clay anymore.
Good looking Mog I couls not think of a better vehicle to attempt such a climb in! George is that you driving? Karl here and you do realize I would be cleaning my 1300 for a week after this kind of mud Sir!

The only solution in this clay like mud is to fit tractor tires to the Unimog.

Again useless tires in the mud and no turbo to compensate for altitude.Was this trip planned?
