I think the Dreams speech makes the intent of this game pretty obvious. A clicker being your passion is kinda odd, but if you replace that with “music” or “painting” or whatever, it makes a ton of sense.
Building a family is a valiant goal, but you’ll probably have to give up a part of your passion to do it.
And I guess being kept from his passion was just too much for the clickolder

Honestly, watching Vinny play games has saved me a lot of money, since a lot of games are the same experience for everyone and you can get the same thing from other people. Games like BOTW/TOTK and other open world or personalized journey games are the only ones with any worth to buy and play for yourself, and that works for me. So many games, so little time, so little money haha

When the masked guy talked about how his hands weren't what they used to be (my guess would be arthritis or something of the sort), that honestly kinda got to me a bit. Sometimes I think about what would happen if I lost my hands. All of my passions, everything I want to achieve and to leave behind when I'm gone, I can't do any of it without my hands. If I were to lose them like this guy did, would it be worth handing over my dreams to someone else, just to see someone, anyone live them out before I go?
I honestly don't have an answer to that, and I hope i never need one.

Yeah, honestly I''m surprised at how much chat and even seemingly Vinny thought it was stupid. I thought it was a really effective piece of art and genuinely gripping. Yeah it was weird AF, and weirdly sexual, and kinda of pointless, but like... that's kinda why the whole thing worked. That was the whole point, right?
I actually got a little frustrated at Vinny for kinda fucking around on that last click. Like I mean, I can go fuck myself, it's Vinny's stream, who cares if I was frustrated, and I wasn't ACTUALLY frustrated at him, he can play how he wants, but more so to say that I was so invested that when the pay off and pacing were interrupted I made me feel a thing because I wanted to see what happened next.
Meh, maybe I just like weird shit and am a bit pretentious... and I do and am..... but either way, I thought this was great and want to play it for myself to experience it again and analyze it more.

@drantigon eh that's fair, I guess it was mostly Vin, chat is always gonna have the loudest wildest takes, but Vin is usually responsive to weird arty stuff like this and it felt like he didn't care for it. You know this game seems silly on the outside, but it honestly does recreate what I imagine sex work feels like to the escort emotionally. It was unnerving to watch at times.
I get a 'responding to a Craigslist posting that gets out of hand' kind of vibe from the situation in this game, so yeah I'm with you there.
Honestly it reminded me of how demeaning it was working a retail type job. Retail and sex work are both the type of job where youre essentially at the mercy of your customers.
I used a clicker just like this too, and we definitely had some weirdos. Honestly id rather take this job, this guy pays better at least.

I feel like chat would have been nicer to this game if it didn't use the very specific funny meme fetish while trying to make its points. Not that I disagree with most of the criticisms, honestly most of what the game is trying to say doesn't need the *clickbait* title fetish anyway. I just think there's an odd spike in naked hostility for this game it probably wouldn't otherwise receive.

i agree but i also think it was built around the idea and scenery of cuckoldry. i think its more unique this way, rather than being your typical 'serious indie game about inner turmoil'. even though it is that, you just gotta get through the veneer of memery first. gots to promote your game somehow. also as vin said streamerbait, reminds me of the sonic dreams era on youtube lol

I feel like this game has a lot of biblical meaning... Clicking being a vice one struggles or deals with. Replace the word clicking with porn, drinking, cheating, lust... This game gets a whole lot darker. And the masked person represents the player. Following their "dream" (the word dream just meaning their earthly or fleshly desire or addiction.) Following it to the point of dying for it... the phrasing around 24:47 "you don't get to keep your dreams, with family. Not unless you keep it private Or you're willing to cause harm"... Screams addiction or a shameful and sinful desire of the heart's afraid of what other's think so they keep it to themselves letting it build and fester so much so that the masked person sought after it so much he gave up everything for this one thing that ultimately costed him his life. The strong clean person he saw in the chair can be the devil he doesn't care if you click. Does not judge. He tempts us with "clicking" though. Which the man became obsessed with and let this desire destroy his life... This game is not dark and disgusting. It sheds life on a dark subject matter that ruins lives and relationships.
