I was there in 2017, this talk helped me a lot! Thanks for posting!
GDC is my favorite TedX.
for sure
Nice. Love sound design in games. A joy to watch.
i spent couple weeks designing sounds for 8 creatures. after watching this, i feel like i should start from scratch lol
Awesome stuff! I’ve been messing around with sound design in Dreams lately and will definitely be taking some of these tips on board
Great talk!
having an increased frequency range really seems incredibly useful.
That was an incredibly interesting GDC talk! Thank you a lot for sharing those tips!!!!
Very cool one. From emotional to technical, all the aspects covered!
Really amazing talk. Very helpful! It was also cool to hear about how total war warhammer sound were made - being a fan an all 😉.
Big fan of the sound design in total war, this was epic
Fantastic video. Great tips and insights
25:19 "I have to disappoint you" Hey I guessed that sound number one was made of human sounds, you can clearly hear the animal quality in sound number two.
Coming back to this after a while, I would say that, while Zynaptiq Morph is pretty dope, I think Melda's MMorph is superior. I think the former works on band vocoding while the latter works on FFT spectral analysis.
Similarly, a spectrum analyzer is super important. I found that Ableton's freq shift colors the sound alot whereas FL and Melda's Frequency Shifts don't.
Great stuff. Don't judge people when they make funny sounds - they must just be working, and will soon become monsters ;)
nice talk.. but what was on the master bus ?
Awesome talk!
less serious note:
there really is no dignity in this stuff is there, hours of wet fart noises and growling to yourself with a microphone lol
Genial

Hmm
"With us in the UK it's a very noisy environment."
Well sir I think you need to make a trip to India....you're definitely bound to have a breakdown
Great talk, terrible standup
He's here to tell you how to make sound effects, he's not a comedian mate
This guy is from Boom Library??!!!! Solid gold information here. Saved!
Doesn't take too long for you to realize this guy knows what he's talking about when it comes to sound design and microphones. This guy doesn't fuck around when it comes to quality.
Love this video, I've never thought about how useful high frequency mics could be.
Awesome! Thank you for letting this into the world!
Awesome talk
Bravo and thank you!
This is awesome!
