    The whole narrative of just the "best striker" needs to stop for Ronaldo. Prior his injuries, him at his peak, he was and still the best player, not just striker, but best player I've seen to this date. A player worthy of the nickname el fenómeno 👏

      The guy who making this video is very young maybe 20/21 years old
      He’s just a college guy
      So he wasn’t even born to witness this legend when he was playing
      Later I have little bit of argument and he admitted to that he think that cristiano and messi are the greatest in the history .
      So He’s title and even wording will always credit to discredit some players from the past
      Cause he never seen these players before
      And yeah I would agree with you r9 the greatest player ever
      Have Ronaldo played in 2011 Barcelona
      There’s a 0 doubt about it in my mind he would have scored 80+ goals per season
      Not only he was deadly accurate with both feet but he also was so skilled and can actually play and dribble in tiny spaces
      While Messi is great but he never had the striker killer instinct or positioning
      He usually got walked in to the box
      There’s 6 player up front
      Literally 6
      Including
      David villa
      Daniel alves
      Suarez / Alexis Sanchez / Henry
      Then ineasta who always run to box and just outside the box there’s Xavi
      And Messi
      That’s the normal imagine if Ronaldo 9 have this amount of support upfront
      Just imagine

    Ronaldo had knee issues back in Brasil. His knee problems come from playing a 16yo kid vs men as a starter for an entire season. This was the seed of his issues. His 2nd season as a teenage sensation at Cruzeiro saw him lose a bunch of games because of his knee and yet be rushed in against his medical staff because at that age he probably already was the best player on earth. The steroids thing , if true, IS NOT at the root of those injuries.

They were also on clen and ephedrine. Later in the 2000s they moved to growth hormone, small doses of test (50-150mg weekly) and peptides.

      eh actually the doping, from club pov, is to keep the players healthy and injury free, fast recovered... ronaldo already came to europe with knee problems.. as someone said above... probably the doping (if he got it) made him perform on that extreme high level for a couple years? I heard of zidane taking doping blood transfusion too at real madrid and obv at juventus. you know normally these practices give players long and strong careers.

      Messi doped along with Puyol and Iniesta/Xavi for Barcelona.
      There was a review about a day where an anti doping team surprised them right after practice and Barcelona's medical team wrote down that those 3 players were "ill".
      Not even 24hrs after, they started for a La Liga official match.

    At 21 years old, he had already won the World Cup and the Ballon d’Or while breaking the world transfer record twice.
    The World Cup winner is widely considered one of the best strikers in football history and one of the finest talents to have come out of Brazilian football.

      @@HouseOfGreatsword You must be 15 years old, mate. Anyone who watched “the real Ronaldo” knows he does belong there. A player that had everything. Even his overweight years are better than any of today’s strikers. He scored 8 goals (two in the final against Germany) even after those two career-ending injuries. CR7, for example, needed five World cups to score eight goals…
      He’s an icon and the best player of his generation, tied with Zidane, but he was naturally gifted like no other player in the history of the game, I have no doubts about it.

    To think that Ronaldo achieved everything he has achieved with pretty much half of a knee is scary. Football gods nerfed him for the sake of football.

  • @jackofsometradesmasterofnone
    @jackofsometradesmasterofnone Месяц назад

    Ronaldo was the first time a striker had speed, strength, dribble, stamina, and flair.
    Until then you had a combination of a couple of those if you were lucky, your striker either played as a pine tree in the area heading balls in or with his back to the goal 2nd touching the ball to the 2nd forward for outside shots.
    Then came Ronaldo, who picked the ball halfway through the field, dribbled past 3 guys, got tackled, got up somehow keeping the ball, trips, shoots and scores. 5 minutes later he's heading a second one in from a cross coming from left field and topping it off with a hat trick from free kick on the second half.
    There was football before Ronaldo and after Ronaldo.

    There are tons of players who continue maturing between 15 and 21, so while I don't doubt that doping was going on at some level (and I long suspected it for sports such as rugby where young kids would reappear after the off-season 4 stone heavier with necks starting by their ears) there's also plenty of potential for natural growth - and Ronaldo never struck me as particularly unnatural. That he maintained this muscle mass AFTER his injuries and continued to be blindingly rapid despite his weight gain later in his career all but disproves the argument however. For players who had similar growth spurts you can look at Alan Shearer, Rio Ferdinand, Rooney etc - the only coincidence is they all started early and they were all able to add bulk naturally.

    • @prazman
      @prazman Месяц назад +1

      R9 being fed hgh or steroids at PSV is still pure speculation. The doctor that made this claim was then fired by the Brazilian federation as these were baseless.
      I’ve never heard claims of hgh/steroids use at Barca, inter and later Madrid.

    • @koncorde
      @koncorde Месяц назад +1

      @@prazman By "doping at some level" I was referring to the sport more widely, and I don't think we can dismiss the idea that drugs were used during recovery periods via supplements and special creams and ointments. Whether that includes Ronaldo I don't know - but it'd be odd for it to ONLY be Ronaldo on the PSV team if that was the case. As we have seen with other instances, it tends to be institutional with a club because of the necessary means to achieve the systemic cover-up.
      Regarding Italy, testing for Steroids was basically not done pro-actively in the 90's at all leaving plenty of scope for abuse, and institutional cases of doping were almost certainly underway at different times.
