Your videos are always worth waiting for. That was a fantastic weekend in your campervan for Issy’s birthday. Your van is amazing and I can see you will have lots more holidays to enjoy as a family. The girls are growing up fast! Poppy has grown 6 inches, Holly is becoming a beautiful young lady and Izzy is as bright and engaging as always, and now she’s hit double figures 10 years old, wow! That was a wonderful video and when I saw it was 29 minutes, I made cheese and biscuits and opened a bottle of wine 😊. Thanks as always for sharing your Nugget adventure, it’s always a treat.

We still love the California too (especially our previous one!), but this suits us much more nowadays mainly due to the awesome layout/convenience inside 😎👍🏻
Excellent video. Well put together, super detail but it’s clear the family fun is genuine. None of you ever fakes or hams anything up or acts up for the camera. My wife and I were glued to it. I'm retiring soon (from Ford UK) and seriously, though only recently, been considering getting a camper van. I dream that I will love it especially as I have grandchildren of my own and enjoy Bird watching to boot. The problem is..... my long term partner will not even discuss the matter because she's only interested in luxury hotels or holidaying on expensive cruises. I suppose the answer is to try before we buy (if that's poss?) but if anybody has an idea on how to bring her around, then please let me know. Thank you.

Campervanning is perfect for retirement, especially with the comforts and benefits of having your own facilities with you wherever you go; and for bird watching it would be a perfect companion. As regards convincing your partner, this can be a problem. I have spoke to and have had lots of messages of the last few years from people (men and women) whose other half won’t even consider it. It’s such a shame, really. Modern campervans and motorhomes can offer superb on board facilities and we’d choose our camper anyday over a hotel, especially after COVID. Renting a nice one for a long weekend might be a good starting point…I hope you can achieve it, it’s truely wonderful! 😎
Hi Simon, good question 👍🏻. I do have a small video on this which we’re yet to publish…so watch out for that. But in short, I use my existing Atera bike rack and have adapted it to accept a bolt on frame. On top of the frame, the box sits and it has 4 holes drilled through the base to secure the box to the new frame. Also, underneath is still clear/useable for skii’s etc. Hope that helps, Jordan.

However, as regards the new Nugget, I have my reservations due to the revised practicality of the interior. I’d be interested to know what you think? Are you a Nugget owner too?
@@CaliCamperFamily Sadly not, I’m trying to persuade my caravan loving ‘other half’ to make the change, so still in the researching phase myself. We only have one child left but have one of those dog creatures which complicates matters. Just watched a good German review of the new Nugget, 16 minutes by Clever Campen. Some nice new cab features, no handbrake or gear lever, so flat floor. Nicer materials, as based on the Tourneo not the builders van now. More USBs. Heated rear bench (and therefore bed) BUT, the kitchen is less practical as the gas cylinder has changed location. The fridge is now smaller, bad but a drawer, good. Lots to consider. Needs a side by side review… by you. Can you get a press car ?

But we want to stay with a campervan type vehicle, pref 6m max. If you werent buying for a young family, but just the 2 of you, what would you be looking at ? Thankyou! Yes, the the beds are really good 👍🏻. Waterproofs more or less dried out, but I put the shoes in the plastic back-box overnight which was a school boy error!
Hello. Yes, it is noticeable with strong cross winds. You can easily control it, but it’s the same with any taller van. As regards corners, it still handles very well with only a small bit of extra roll compared to the pop-top. 😎
Much better for storage, so suits us much better! It’s superb to drive, quiet and refined. Not quite as quick or manoeuvreable. It does feel bigger and not as agile as the short wheel base pop top so not as easy to use as an everday car. But, brilliant!

I think that to drive in Italy with that thing on the back you need a white and red stiped reflective panel called 'carichi sporgenti'.

Is there any difference between a low car and a high car when you drive it? For example, will the car drift when the wind is strong?

Hi, it’s not been a problem. Toilet before bed and they usually sleep through. Very rarely have we had to get up to help them. Thanks for watching!
What did you exactly do with the bedrest downstairs?
We just pulled the base of the seat/bed more upright and moved the two front seats rearwards to support it 👍🏻
