Just discovered this game. Thank you for the review! This is my favorite faction on the tabletop. I started playing 8th edition, and to hear Kasrkin have AP 3 damage 3 weapons is wild.
That's frustrating. The karsikin are basically normal guardsman (with a crappy pattern Lasgun), and the guardsman squad is essentially conscripts. No upgrade options but their choice between a bayonet, and a granade. That is the most conscripts thing I have ever seen haha
@@a.r.hollowayauthor7210 yeah its a shame as tbh guardsmen need some customisation weapon wise as they are the deployed to all front against all enemies, let's hope they give us an update
Yeah I agree with most of your opinions on the Cadian Shock Troops. I would definitely support a point increase on them and the Kasrkins to bump them up to how effective they should be.
@@alarminglyfastmovingskelet7289 yeah tbh if they added a couple special weapon upgrades like grenade launcher or basic flamer it would be a massive improvement
I would buy the Astra Militarum DLC but for some reason (that the publisher would not tell) it is not avaiailable on Epic Games Store where I own the game and every other DLC. And the latest WH40k Gladius DLC is not avalable as well, same publisher. Nice video :D
Only thing missing now (except a couple of races...) is to let us create battles with mixed armies (or allied armies if this is the term)... Example Astra + Blood Angel vs Tyranids
@SirJellyBean When I found snactus reach I was thinking that this could be a great platform for epic battles... Then I learned that they will not add more content (factions) and the disappointment was huge... Then battlesector came...and kept pumping factions and content... I have to say to fans... "Don't ask for ready campaigns...ask for factions and options...with those tools we can make our own campaigns"... I was waiting for Astra so long...now as a non-super-knowledgeable-40k guy I guess we miss only (mainly) Eldar,voting.... Yes the marines are numerous but if they let us colour our armies then we can make-believe variations by painting the blood-angels other colors. Yes the chaos has also many factions but we can represented in our heads with khorne... So basically I want Eldars for next... And a better editor for maps and missions...it's a bit clunky... (Also Yes we want some units BUT since a faction is in the game, all is possible) I would like the Necrons to be perfect...yeah it's more lore based to be a bit Op but not fun... Damn I love this game...just...just a little bit more to make it whole...
My tanks just get blown up so quick. I play Battle Sector against my brothers who main Orcs and Tyranids, both armies able to 2-3 shot even the Rogal Dorn with several of their units. My best strategy so far is using Heavy Weapons Platforms and having them do hit and run attacks with Chimeras, since you can load and unload in the same turn, while using the transports as scouts.
I obviously haven't seen how your brothers play but some tips that might help you: If they are killing your tanks with ranged units it's best to use the Rogal Dorn with the Oppressor Cannon or the Vanquisher Leman Russ as you can shoot from outside most unit's effective ranges, sometimes even outside of their maximum range. The only faction you should be losing tanks to in ranged battles are the T'au. If you are dying to melee units having Guardsmen squads with bayonets protecting them is actually alot more effective than you might think, generally-speaking units that are meant to be attacking into high armor lose alot of value when attacking Guardsmen, and Guardsmen are also one of the more durable chaff units at 300 total health. Another thing that not alot of people know about is that rear attacks do extra damage, which people will definitely exploit against a unit as durable as a Leman Russ. You can mitigate this by placing a unit to cover their six or just have their backs face the wall.
@@alarminglyfastmovingskelet7289 great tips much appreciated, I've made good use of bayonets in my recent planetary supremacy playthrough backed up by a commissar with show them steel
@@alarminglyfastmovingskelet7289 They're typically more defensive players and since most of the maps are large, it usually means we need to approach each other. Personally I find the bulk of the maps to be TOO large given how it takes 3 whole turns just to meet in the middle. The tyranids use their swarm tactics to wipe out the guardsmen before sending in the burrowing slug and the flying tyrant to hit the tanks in the back. Meanwhile, the ork player does something similar, using the ranged units to take out the guardsmen then running in with power klaws, or just jumping in with storm boyz. They usually hit my tanks for 1/3 or 2/3 of their health with their heavy hitting units and due to the cost of tanks, they're usually able to bring multiple tank killers. I'm probably just being overly aggressive but we played on our own custom designed maps that gave me a huge edge, letting me sit there and blast them and they were still able to jump on my tanks.
@@jrg7777 Generally speaking you won’t be able to straight up stop the enemy from jumping in, you just have to really make it hurt. I would recommend using a mix of Ogryns and bayonet Guardsmen to counter-initiate, either with a Commissar or a Primaris Psyker. The Primaris Psyker in particular is great at protecting other units with its debuffs
The game is great however it crashes alot .I have not finished a game in a while planetary mode never finished a game it glitches non of my others gams crashes I have reinstalled it did the licensed thing this happens on ps5 again great game just needs to be fixed
@SirJellyBean its pretty fun. But you need to install and some extra programs to prevent it from crashing constantly and it still crashes pretty often because the mow engine is 32 bit
