Aurangazeb's empire crumbled because of his 27 year war with the Marathas. Not only that, because of his engagement with Marathas he was unable to extend his military support to his ottoma allies (suleiman) during the Hamsburg. ottoman wars.

@Muslim after death of shivaji maharaj Aurangzeb with a 5 lakh force invaded Deccan .just type about mughal maratha wars of 29 yrs . He initially got successes , he captured raigad , killed sambhaji maharaj but sucess didn't last long, aurangzeb kept on waging never ending war with marathas in deccan , marathas kept on fighting him with gurellia warfare . Later a situation was that for every fort aurangzeb captured he lost 2 to marathas , with time since his full might and money was being utilized in waging never ending war in deccan mughal roots in North India became unstable , with time by seeing this the rajputs , jats and Sikhs started revolting against mughals rule. Due absence of emperor and inefficient administration due to huge war expenditure some internal mughal sardar started dreaming of independent sultanates of their own .. atlast aurangzeb died in 1707 and his grave was digged in maharashtra itself . Later this instability laid mughals vulnerable against Iranians invaders like nadirshaha . result - failure to annex maratha territory , end of offensive capability of mughals , beginning of great maratha offensives in North india .
So yes marathas were greatly responsible for demise of mughal empire .
Marathas didn't took advantage of weakened mughals rather first marathas made them swet blood , exhausted their strength and their coffers and then took them over.
Regarding durrani just after 10 years of battle of panipat under leadership of mahadaji scindia marathas retook all the lost territories in North india .
Just type resurrection of maratha empire .
And battle of panipat didn't only affected marathas , abdali also suffered many casualties, he lost some of the bravest of generals hence the Sikhs became more and more active against afghans resulting to their demise in Punjab .
My favorite of all these man is akbar or aurangzeb. The mughals so greatly influenced modern india and culture greatly these men were far liberal and tolerant than past regimes "for their time" is important to note❤❤❤❤❤ the mughals definitely shaped modern india
