Study Group is an ongoing South Korean television series co-written by Eom Seon-ho and Oh Bo-hyun, directed by Lee Jang-hoon and Yoo Beom-sang, and starring Hwang Min-hyun, Han Ji-eun, Cha Woo-min, Lee Jong-hyun, Shin Su-hyun, Yoon Sang-jeong, and Gong Do-yu. Based on the webtoon of the same name by Shin Hyung-wook, it is about a boy who wants to study hard to achieve his one goal. It premiered on TVING on January 23, 2025.

This show feels like im reading a school-Action comic to me.. its funny and so much is happening! Its kinda fantasy so you can let your imagination go a lil wild for the fight scenes 😂😂

Its Minhyun hes a singer and actor you probably recognise him from Alchemy of souls part of the 4 kingdoms
I will say since hes use to memorising dance choreography the fight and stunt work in this show are done really well and looks natural expecially the fight scenes in ep 2
Not just him the other actors really immerse you into the show
Also lots of the actors and background actors in this show all worked together for the show Night has come so its interesting to see them all in another project together
Study group is so funny, it only gets better

I'm glad you posted your reaction on #studygroup first, because the trailer didn't quite capture its essence for me either. Although it's not my usual genre, I found myself drawn in and now I'm obsessed. The show is a game-changer....seamlessly blending comedy, intense storytelling, memorable characters, and thrilling fight sequences, and it only gets better with each episode.

LOVE SCOUT NEXT! I'm surprised you haven't started this. It's an ongoing workplace romcom kdrama and it's had mature leads, I love their chemistry so much. The fl is the CEO and ml listens to her well 🤭 I think you guys would absolutely love this.
1:55 His name is Hwang Minhyun. He was a member of NUEST and WANNA ONE. He acted in My Lovely Liar, Alchemy of Souls and Live On. The guy you said acted in Penthouse and No Gain No Love is actually Kim Youngdae. They are kinda look alike but not.

The blue tracksuit man a.k.a samchon!!!!! I wonder when will they do live action of his series Hanlim Gym. I hope we get to see at least the actor playing him. He sounded like Kim Sung Oh but could still be recast probably until the actual announcement.

Technical schools in my country used to be very notorious for their fighting records with other schools, cause the students were using all kinds of metal tools for learning, carrying them in their bags were not unusual
TRAUMA CODE is great too..I binhed watch it almost..these 2 jdramas set the bar high for 2025..+ their jst short ..very bingeable..I finished Trajma code in 2 days.. btw, all I know is the MC in Study group is frm Alchemy of Souls S1 & 2, & My Lovely Liar.. I know u'll love bothe shows for sure as a whole.. Love Scout is good too for a rom-com.. these 3 kdramas r dominating w/ diff genrea . looking forward for Trauma code..thanks!

I started this drama only because of the male lead but I was pleasantly surprised and it has become one of the dramas I'm loving.

There is one thing to keep in mind. In South Korea, those who fail to enter a university are considered socially worthless. The examination to enter a university is very difficult and tuition is high.

I am korean. I'm sorry to talk about something serious, but because of Korea's student human rights ordinance, if a student hits a teacher, he won't go to jail. On the contrary, if a teacher hits a student, he will go to jail. If a student wakes up a student who sleeps in class, the teacher will be sued.

In the first episode of the drama, the sight of listening to Iljin (then Jjang) rather than the teacher is also a story from the 90s, and the fact that the teachers couldn't say anything to the son of a gang leader is also a story from the 90s.
체벌이 문제가 되는 이유는 2020년 이전에 일어났던 여러 구타 사건들 때문이었는데.. 쓰레기 보존 법칙처럼 일정 부분의 쓰레기 교사가 존재했었기 때문. 반대로 체벌을 금지한다면 일정 부분의 그것을 악용하는 쓰레기 학생에 의해서 쓰레기는 보존되는데 이 드라마와 같은 교사에 대해서 반항하는 사건은 오히려 90년도에 많이 있었다. 드라마 1화에서 보이는 선생님 말보다 일진(당시는 짱)말을 듣는 모습도 90년대 모습이고, 깡패 두목 아들에 선생들도 아무 소리 못하던 것도 90년대 이야기.
결국 1/3 이하의 쓰레기 교사에게 폭력 합법권을 줄 것인가 ? 아니면 1/3 이하의 쓰레기 학생에게 막나갈 권리를 줄 것인가에 대한 이야기.
애초에 이 웹튠 유성공고 배경이 90년대 학교내에 담배재 털 드럼통까지 갖다뒀던 운봉공고 모티브라는 소리도 있으니깐.
