Hey I just posted a follow up long term review of this backpack on my channel! It answers some more questions as well as gives a bit more information and thoughts.

Love your bag, it has got this vintage look to it but still looking modern. I gave this bag to my bf as an anniversary gift. I also got one for myself in soft pink/ navy when we were travelling in Taiwan. Love it
That’s really cool haha, I never heard of the brand until seeing their store in the Philippines. They must be more popular in Asia. Definitely a cool and practical thing to get as a travel souvenir.

i love this bag i got one like 2 years ago and i’ve been using it and it hasn’t gotten ruined yet. it’s amazing
They honestly hold up really well. When I bought it I had no expectations about the brand but they are really well made it turns out
Just so you know, if those hanging strips annoy you, you can button them up to the straps of the backpack.
I got so excited when I saw the duck from spirited away! Haha

the buttons at the bottom end of the strap are for the buttons on the top end that’s why it’s facing upward when not fastened :)
Yeah you’re right, I probably shoulda mentioned that. But idk it still just isn’t a feature I ever actually use ya know. I guess it’s tidier for storing though.

Hey thanks! Also I saw the mini one, but didn't realize that there was a larger size. They don't seem to list it as a "large size" but just with the dimensions
I think it rest higher on your back because the straps are closer together which is supposed to help straighten your posture or something like that

I just bought this backpack in the color Rose and I’m waiting to receive it. Overall I’ve seen a lot of reviews and I love it. I think it’s more convenient than a kanken.
I knew about this doughnut backpack because of your video, and yesterday I just went to Mall of Asia and bought my own doughnut macaroon bag. I got the Khaki x Army color one and I love it so much! 😍

Would it be good for a high school backpack? I want a really nice bp for school and i really like the doughnut macaroon bp's but i am worried that it might not handle the weight for highschool reasources.
I use mine for college and definitely don’t have a whole lot to carry. If you are worried about space, it turns out there is a large version of the bag. I didn’t know about it while making the video, but it exists. I haven’t used it myself but I’d believe it’d be large enough.
Oooh i love this bag too, getting mine in a month for my bday. Btw a lot of ppl mispronounce “Fjällräven” it’s actually Fyallraven and the r’s are rolled once but u did a good job on pronouncing it! Also love the vid keep it up!! 😊🤍

I have the standard size, there is also a large one as well. You may need yours sooner but I’m actually working on a video to go more in detail about what can fit in mine

I’m pretty sure the backpack fits up to 13 inch laptops
The straps can be buttoned on the top of the straps so they don’t droop down
Yeah I see that but it’s still strange and not something I’d ever really do. I guess for storing it’d help though
This is doughnut macaroon standard size fits 13" or 14" laptops length is 38 inches so it can fit 8 books I think

btw: they have a larger one i got the large one that fits 15” laptops- also! A lot of water bottle/flasks fit the outside pockets. Just doesn’t look like it.
Thanks for the insight, yeah I didn’t see the larger ones at their store or on the website so didn’t realize they had them. Either that or I just missed it haha

Nikki the dark khaki one! Shit forgot the ACTUAL color name but the straps are brown! Wow it’s been one year since I’ve bought it and it’s still good as new

For the straps they designed it like that cause theres a place at the top of your shoulder pads where you can snap it.

Weirdly enough they had it at our local bookstore / gift shop. Though I know for a fact you can find it at other places (assuming they still make it). Just look up “ootori sama plush” and you should find it.

Would this backpack fit a normal sized binder - 1.5-2.00 inch
It’s been a few years since I’ve had to use one of those, but if I were to judge it I’d say it’d be a very close fit if it did. I remember those being a bit on the wide side which would be the problem. My standard folder meant to hold 8.5x11 papers just about fits in so the binder may not make it. Hopefully someone has more experience on this though.

Depends where you get it. On amazon they seem to be $80-85 USD. But in the Philippines I got mine for $70 when converted to US dollars.

It was Doughnut’s own branded store at Mall Of Asia in Manila. It was really small and may have just been a temporary pop up shop, but I’m not sure. Hope that helps at all.

@@RetraCast hi may i ask how u clean the stains? after watching your video i immediately bought one and sadly when i used it today i stained it with my ballpen. since it is waterproof im having a hard time cleaning it. do you have any suggestion? thank you!!!
I haven’t had to try yet, but when I have a moment I’ll mark a little part of the inside front pouch to test and see if I can get it off. I’ll keep you updated
Hey, I tried some warm water and soap and it didn’t fully work. I don’t have any on me to test, but I’m pretty sure you’d have better luck with rubbing alcohol. It’s really cheap at the store. I’ve used it to remove ink on my seats in my car before. Just use a bit on a rag and rub it into the mark. Should work I think! Hope that helps!

yes it is! It was a tough choice between this and the khaki x seaweed one for me
@@RetraCast I'm debating if I should get this or the hazelnut one but I'm a bit doubtful about the latter because it's prone to stains... I think I've finally decided to get charcoal because of your video haha does it fit a 13 inch macbook air?
@@phetsoisa Just looked at the hazelnut one and it is sweet as well. The bag is waterproof which would probably help protect from stains a bit, but I'm not too sure how effective it would be in the long run. My laptop is a 12 inch macbook and fits with plenty of room. I'd imagine a 13 inch would fit well too.

phetsoisa sorry for the late comment but I’ve had my doughnut backpack for around 2+ months and I’m pretty rough with my backpacks and the bottom is holding up really well! It has a couple of spots here and there but overall I think it’s one of my best backpacks!

Classic size looks like a girly bag If I wear then, large size is appropriate for men 5’8” in height or higher.

nice bag but design wise its unoriginal. The whole structure of the bag screams fjallraven. Its a copy with improvement here and there.
Yeah I agree it is essentially a fjallraven but with more emphasis on style rather than simplicity. I do prefer it though.
I have the doughnut in regular size and was just about to buy a larger kanken just so i have another bag i can use when i need to bring more stuff to school but right when i saw the kanken at the store i thought it looked cheap honestly. It was as if the doughnut was the original one and the kanken was the bootleg version. Maybe i'm just used to the macaroon idk. I ended up buying another macaroon in large
