How to Use Discord with Your Apple Airpods

- If you ever wanted to use your airpods on your pc this is how you do it. I had issues myself with the audio cutting off whenever I tried to use discord with my airpods and it just wouldnt work and it would cut off both my pc audio as well as my desktop mic or a combination of the two. This is a simple fix to get it working! Straight to the point with no fluff

the airpods had pretty good quality during a 4 hour discord call but the next day all of the sudden everytime i connect to like a discord voicecall it completely trashes the sound quality

when i use my airpods on discord everyone has bad mic quality, and for some reason if i dont have the headset as the default i cant hear anything

@@whykidsmad click on the sound icon you have, if you don’t have it then there’ll be a ^ sign on the corner next to the time then click on the sound icon, when you click there’ll be the sound volume and something above it saying airpods hands free, click on it and there’ll be playback devices you can choose. Choose stereo, sorry for the late reply

i split the default devices but it when i join discord i cant hear my pc audio ie everything but discord on the airpods stereo output and can only hear pc audio again when i choose the lower quality hands free output option. Audio works fine when im not in discord. does your method require a seperate mic as i know air pods doesnt have a mic function when using the higher quailty sound
I’ve only had success with this when I had a seperate mic . On top of when I used the AirPods mic when it did work , the audio quality is terrible . I do not suggest trying to use the AirPods as anything other than just to hear audio

The issue should be fixed by you setting the "defaults" to make sure the correct one is used. As for preventing it from connecting altogether I dont think you can disable or should disable it even if you could just beacuse its how the airpods function and might make it get wonky if you prevent it from connecting altogether. Even now I still run into random issues like sometimes needing to rmanually connect them when the PC doesnt do it automatically haha

Hello. I have a same issue that since my mic is broken. Im trying to use my airpods as a mic and as a headphone. But when I put my airpods as input device. It somehow doesn't work. Do you have any idea what's the problem is?
Have you tried the steps in the video yet ? Most of the issues have to do with the default devices being set . The difference between the headset outputs . If you don’t set that, your default will always go to something else.

How come my audio goes out and deaf when I change airpods to input in discord. I am trying to use it as a mic as well and it just cuts and deafens for some reason.
You have to check your output settings and input settings . Again remember the AirPods register as two seperate type of headsets so you kinda have to fiddle around and make sure you’re using the right one. And I also don’t recommend using it as a mic either it just doesn’t work too right with windows . I recommend using it purely just for audio .

The mic on the AirPods are awful . They do not sound the same as when you use it for your phone. Has to do with some sort of windows or pc encoding . That’s why I recommend only using the AirPods as a audio device and not as a microphone 🥲

You might need to change your sound settings on your pc to make sure it’s going to your AirPods . You should be able to hear both
It worked for me but whenever I get on a game, whether it’s Valorant, Sea of Thieves, or even Roblox, the AirPods just say NO and stop relaying sound until the application is closed. Do you have an idea what may be causing this?
You might need to check the sound settings within your game. Your game application itself might be changing where the audio is outputting

You need to Disable the AIRPODS's Microphone from the sound manager Like literary disable the microphone on them and it would fix it..

There's an easier fix and airpods will work just fine without changing anything else. Just turn off the noise cancellation airpods feature on your phone before using them on your computer.
i cant even open the sound control panel. its just not an opton in my settings

That should be pretty straightforward ! Depending on the phone you have , all you have to do is just pair it like any other bluetooth headphones ! Should be tons of guides out there for that or if you ever used any other earphones the airpods kinda work the same way and you just put it into pairing mode while its in the case by holding the button on the back and it should be detected by your phone!

hmm i think this mainly points out the fact that for the most part. The issue lies in the fact that airpods are listed both as microphone and headphones separately. If selecting the defaults to sepeerate it doesn't fix it, then you might have a different issue altogether. Sorry I couldnt help!

check your input settings on discord then, make sure its set to have your airpods there, test it out until you get the right one that detects audio

when you cal them on discord, make sure to double check your settings on discord to make sure what output and input are being used. As well as on your system settings what output and input are being used. Everytime you connect your airpods, sometimes it either doesnt connect to or the default changes. Its just some things you have to deal with if you want to use airpods on the PC. Its very easy to mix up which one youre using since the airpods is listed as two different devices

@@HamsterBoi Same thing as I told him , you have to make sure the headphones as the default for the device for playback , where youre getting audio. Headset will be the microphone. I honestly do not recommend using the airpods as a microphone anyway since the microphone on pc is horrible when using airpods. As for why certain apps dont give audio while your discord works, is because the game itself might have default audio settings you need to change, maybe everytime you boot up the game you have to change it as well, because the moment you disconnect your airpods or reconnect it, the apps sometimes might not pick it up. As a permanent audio device for pc, the airpods probably arent the most convenient, its still very wonky everytime it connects. You probably have to confirm it every single time which app is outputting on which device etc. Most issues people are saying its not working for them even after watching this is mostly due to whichever app their using is not setting the correct device to output on. System audio settings sometimes differ from program specific audio settings
@@peanutbutterpandapuffs I'm not exactly sure how to switch games like ark survivals audio defaults but i went into sound settings and i could choose which apps use certain inputs, but after posting my previous comment i managed to both hear my friends in a call and hear ark and a yt vid, but i couldnt talk, i didnt have a mic. im pretty sure it only happens when i turn on my mic as once my mic ( on airpods ) didnt work i could hear all the audios i was trying to
im only doing this cuz ibroke my mic lmao
