Sponge cake recipe without oven.
When we bake cake layers the outside heats up and baked more quickly than the center, which is insulated by the rest of the batter surrounding it. So basically the outside of the cake layer bakes first; the inside of the cake layer has more time to rise and by the time the inside is set and baked through the outside is starting to dry out and burn. This is why you see so many cakes with dark edges which are not cotton soft.
In this video i used cake strip method to avoid hard edges.
This sponge cake is very easy to make,perfect sponge for icing and frosting. no need to trim edges.
ingredients
1.5 cup all purpose flour (180 grams)
1 cup and 1/3 cup milk
1.5 tbsp lemon juice
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 cup powder sugar (120 grams)
1/2 cup oil
2 tbsp milk powder
1/2 tsp vanilla
1 pinch salt

I made this cake for my daughter’s birthday! It was absolutely delicious and moist. My daughter has egg allergies and I’ve tried different recipes. This is the definitely one for us. Now for a chocolate one and we are all set. I’ll try your chocolate receipe for my son’s birthday next week😊

Super good recipe ! Cake turned out so soft and nice . I added Butter cream frosting on the top and it was so good ! I baked mine at 180 degree for about 40-45 minutes . But at 30 minutes do check it if it has been cooked ! Thank you so much 💕 .
Tips :
Try adding slightly lesser oil . And the cake is small ! About 1/2 kg or lesser . Double the batter if you want to enjoy more ! .

Yah it is kind of very sweet but it can actually depend on the person like if you love things to be sweet you can add 1 cup if you don't add 3/4cup
I tried this yesterday and it was the best cake I ever made. I make a lot of cakes but the recipe I used called for condensed milk and drinking soda which I did not have at home so tried your recipe and it was soooo good! The best sponge cake I've made. Thank you. Looking forward to more recipes.

Hello mam...I am 16 years old I tried this cake and it came out to be super duper yummy and it was so spongy ... Everyone in my family loved the cake ..And it's our routine now to make 2 cakes every week.. i made premix of this cake with all dry ingredients and to just add oil and buttermilk.... The cake was soo delicious ...Must try once..😍😍😋😋

No for chocolate ganache chocolate is must, you can't make ganache with cocoa powder ,yes you can bake cake without lemon juice , vinegar and milk powder, replace milk and lemon juice with buttermilk for Chocolate sponge add 2 tbsp cocoa powder

I made this cake just now and it was super moist and fluffy, the crust was also very well done. Thanks for the recipe. I baked in oven at 160 degree for 30 mins.

The cake seems good though i have some questions:
1.Is that curdle milk called butter milk...!!!
2.why to curdle the milk! Why not whole butter milk or curd ?
1.no 2. Butter milk serves different purpose however curd can be used... But to everyone curd is not available all the time that's why she curdled the milk

there is one item is missing and that is One cup milk which you make butter milk with lemon juice
So one cup milk in recipe ingredients on side bar not written can you plz correct before some make mistake and waste all in items

niloufer yasmeen, I know it’s non of my business but to make two 12 inch cakes you double the ingredients, as you saw she cut the 7 inch into two layers, if you make 1. 12 inch cake it should make one thin layer. And because it’s 12 inches you want to make it in two different pans.
If u triple this recipe then u can get a almost same height 12 inch cake in a 12 inch round pan.
