Hi Pip, hope you are well. I think I purchased the shoes via ebay. If you search for 'glitter greek sandals' there are normally quite a few different colour options that come up too. Mine were a 'glitter' shoes which is just like it's coated in glitter but they also do 'holographic' ones which are more of a shiny coating, just personal preference really. They are so soft you can bend them in half, so not much support for your feet, but comfortable just like wearing slippers really! Take care and hope you find some nice shoes, kind regards Luci xx

I don’t understand how this is for beginners. Basic steps and frame are never taught. Never even mentioned how many counts each move takes. And this “first move” is actually three moves, not one.

Hi, thanks for the note. The First Move has been a staple beginners move in Modern Jive for over 30 years. Modern Jive (unlike other partner dances) has no set/formal footwork patterns in the beginners moves and no set frame. It is a relaxed social dance designed for you to add your own style in - unlike say ballroom whereby everyone has to dance a move the same - same footwork, same hands, head in the same place etc. If you are looking for a dance that tells you exactly what to do, what foot to use and have a right and wrong element to it, then this is not what Modern Jive is. In your style of dance, maybe it is 3 moves but for modern jivers, this is just classed as one move. Hope you find a more structured dance that is more to your taste. Good luck and all the best.

@@GingerJiveOnline Maybe mention that in the video next time. How would a beginner know all of that, especially if they come from other dance backgrounds, such as various other styles of swing dancing, which are also relaxed social dances?
Anyways, it seems like your channel dominates RUclips searches for Modern Jive and none of what you mentioned was described anywhere, as far as I could see. Moot point, though; it seems like Modern Jive just isn’t for me. Thanks for replying, though.

@@GingerJiveOnline Thanks for the explanation. It would be great if that were mentioned in the video before getting into the routine. As @Gplusplus mentioned, it leaves dancers coming from more structured dances wondering what's going on. All the best!

Would be a tremendous help to count each step for beginners.
