Just getting started, she! You have no idea of the vision of this channel - each year will get exponentially better! And thanks for the kind and supportive comment.
If I had to exclude the airport transfer and check-in and personalized recommendation on go-to places, I'd imagine it is standard experience. I'm also comparing this hotel alongside with other hotels in Toyko based on travellers experience. Although it is in top 10. I'll have to see further packages if they include a 24/7 butler and a room with a walk in closet and private tour guide/translator. then that's a seal deal for me. at least for business travel.
Your standards for hoteling are quite discerning and elite - definitely top-notch. The shuttle was an a-la-carte $400 option, and I'm not sure if the personal check-in and bespoke sightseeing preparation were standard operating procedure or an upgraded service due to my Marriott Bonvoy Ambasssor status. An optional Butler and translator is such an elite level of service. I like your style. There was a gigantic walk-in closet btw, and i did show it in the video. Great
Best hotel i have ever stayed in! You must check out the ritz Carlton in Kyoto for a similar experience and also the peninsula Hong Kong for equal level views👍🏼👍🏼
Garrett~ I've heard profound things about the Kyoto Ritz and I am so looking forward to seeing that property someday in the future. Thanks for the referral regarding the HK Penninsula - it's on my radar now 😎
I just read an article that said this Tokyo Ritz Carlton is one of the best Ritz hotels in the world. After staying there there, I absolutely agree that it is 😎
Totally wanted to see how it was, totally booking this december on my big trip now. what style of room did you pick? i know there are multiple types. I definitely wanna go for the Modern Japanese style.
@chasm The room at the Tokyo Ritz in this video was their regular standard room to my knowledge. For modern Japanese Luxury & Refinement--> Tokyo Ritz Carlton. For modern Japanese Luxury with a cooler atmosphere and more technologically advanced rooms --> Prince Gallery Tokyo Kiocho. I also did a video on this hotel.
@@Coolist Sweet! i'll be sure to check em out. I was wondering if you'd ever be interested in doing a video discussing your likes and dislikes on certain luxury hotel brands from experience, since you've gone to so many over the year. talking about certain aspects like bedding, customer service, food and amenities. You are so well travelled and show to love life. gives me great vibes watching your vids.
@chasm. Dedicated videos discussing those topics are certainly in the future! Many of the aspects you mention are discussed on the fly during a lot of my videos. For example, hotel A's design might remind me of hotel C's, or hotel D's vibe may be reminiscent of hotel G's. Many of these comparisons, juxtapositions, and rankings are done on-the-fly during each video, so definitely stay active on the channel! But also, yes, in the future, you'll be seeing more compilation videos with my highlighting my favorite hotels and standout features.
6:30 You talk about getting a lot of corner rooms lately. Given how companies share information with each other and how they use artificial intelligence to track consumer data and spending, you are probably flagged in their system as a big traveler / big spender...OR one of the hotels found out that you are a social media influencer who does hotel review videos like this one and so you're now flagged in all of these hotels' computers as a very important person and so you get a lot of corner rooms.
The rolling shutter, IBIS, and field of view on that particular camera are definitely aggravating. All of those equipment pitfalls have been addressed as I've recently switched camera setups.
I like to switch hotels every 3-4 days to create new experiences and keep the trip fresh. The Prince Gallery Tokyo Kiocho was also AMAZING btw, and cheaper.
Quite the materialistic, myopic, and pretentious paradigm Dr. Perhaps I just landed from a 16 hour flight and was whisked right to a hotel... True jet-setters aren't concerned with such nonsense things like check-in garb, and upper-echelon hotels empathize and respect that. Trust me, your debonair clothes alone will not segue into a room upgrade, earn the respect of the staff, or afford you an extra amenities or service. Sounds like you give a little Too much credence to materialism and what people think of you, which is a hallmark of insecurity. Where I come from, class and dignity aren't conveyed via aesthetics and appearances. Under that premise, any lout or rapscallion in a three piece suit would be welcomed, yet a benevolent, altruistic and successful gentlemen in a jogging suit would be turned away. Class is conveyed through language, attitude, principles and values. You can't buy your way into class, but sounds like you're one who will try - good luck with that. Bottom-line: I worked diligently to attain the business class flight, rolls Royce ride, and the monstrous suite, - no grandstanding snide comment regarding appearances will mollify any of those successes. But, if you'd love to go head to head on education, wardrobe, or culture - I'd be game. Watch a few more of my videos before making more baseless and erroneous suppositions. Of course that means you'd first have to leave your computer room, make a video, and upload it for us all to see. 🍿 Oh, and the ritz Carlton had no issue with my wardrobe, and that's the only opinion I care about. Last I Checked, I'm paying to stay there, so it's me that should be concerned with what they are wearing, not Vice versa.
Lol, I'm learning bro. I've never done any kind of Camera work or even social media prior to inception of this Channel. Plus, the rolling shutter and lack of IBIS on that camera setup was definitely frustrating from a stabilization perspective.
Tokyo is in general a dope ass city but the ritz damn!! I gotta try that spot
I was floored by the experience. Even a drink at the lobby bar is unforgettable!
Just booked the Ritz in Tokyo in November after seeing this video. Great review. Cheers from Mexico mate 😎

You picked an amazing hotel, James! At the moment, this is still my favorite hotel of all time.
@@Coolist was it just the basic room? i see options ranging from 500$ a night to 2000$ a night lol.
This specific room was the 'Carlton Suite'
Nice thanks.
Was a really fun video to make
What room did you have to book to get the Rolls-Royce pick up? How did you get that?
Is this where they filmed Lost in Translation? It looks like it.

Your lucky 🍀 dude some people can’t travel to Tokyo this my dream even to vist I can’t I wish one RUclipsr can take me next time I be so happy
If you can stay at the Tokyo Ritz Carlon, you can buy all the drinks you want. Your doing ok.
How much was the room and transport to the hotel?
At that time of staying, The Ritz Carlton Tokyo was approximately $700/night, and the additional luxury car transport cost another $400.
A normal room there is $2,000
Looks great but how much for 1 night
Damnn how was the config of your room called
This Was the Carlton Suite
@@Coolist Thank you for answering ^^
Your room is H-U-G-E for Japan!!!

Go slow on the camera panning and bounce. It gives me a headache watching it.
The rolling shutter, IBIS, and field of view on that particular camera are definitely aggravating. All of those equipment pitfalls have been addressed as I've recently switched camera setups.
Can you get around in Tokyo without knowing Japanese ?
Thx.
Did I hear that correctly, $135.00 for the burger?
That's correct. In retrospect, it wasn't worth it.
Orangensaft
How much did it cost?
It was expensive. I don’t remember the rates off-hand, but the whole experience was spendy.
@@Coolist ah okay thanks because you mentioned that you stayed at three hotels so I was like what? “Isn’t one hotel expensive enough?😂”
