เอ็นดู...ศัพท์ยาก
Thank you to EVERYONE who sent in videos. And I really apologise to people I did not include!
Part 3?
This is awesomeeee! Waiting for Part 3. 💚
🇹🇭👍🏻✌🏻❤️🤝🍺🍻
Yes of course!
Part 3 would be highly appreciated
Part 3👍
Oh my god ! It's Leya here, I'm so happy to be in this video and what you said about me warms my heart so much !
I started to study Thai during the first lockdown, but ever since I started University (I'm studying to become a Director of Photography) my free time has lessened and it has become so hard to incorporate Thai Language into my schedule... !
Hopefully I have my Thai penfriend who has helped me a lot to improve my skills through LINE and is so proud of me being in this video !
Thank you so much Paddy for this video and everything on this channel 🙏🙏
So happy to have you join Leya! You are very inspiring. Good luck in your studies and in your pursuit of becoming a Director of Photography ✌️📸🇫🇷
Your Thai accent is excellent, Leya. There were some grammatical and pronunciation mistakes but overall your accent is very good. Especially when you introduced your age, you sounded like my younger cousin. Please keep it up and good luck in your studies : )
Hey I am also French, I just want some advice from you because I am learning thai on my own which very difficult (especially the alphabet). Thank you in advance for your suggestions (I'm using already drop, hellotalk as phone apps, j'écris en anglais au cas où quelqu'un me donne également des tips)
your accent is really cute Leya.
Keep going Leya come to Thailand make friends, don't you know we're super friendly.
Wow! I am very impressed with everyone on this video. As a Thai person, I am extremely proud to see my mother tongue is being learned and spoken all over the world. Paddy did ask for a Thai speaker to chime in on one of Jen's sentences, "I am interested in knowing what you (Paddy) think of my Thai". I would use the word "อยากรู้" instead of "สนใจ" in that context. So, the sentence would be "อยากรู้จังเลยว่าแพดดี้คิดว่าภาษาไทยของฉันเป็นยังไง" 🇹🇭 👍
It is a great format to discuss people's progress with the Thai language without the slightest inclination to expose them to ridicule. You are doing really great.
As a native Thai, I'd like to say thank you to everyone for your interest in learning Thai language. Everyone doing such a great job speaking Thai. Wish you all the best in your learning journey. 4:00 Jen and Paddy, if you allow me I'd probably say it this way "ฉันอยากรู้ว่าภาษาไทยของฉันเป็นอย่างไรในความคิด (หรือในสายตา) ของคุณ". And last, Em your Thai is very impressive. You sounded like Native Thai, tbh. Hopefully you'll fall in love with Thailand even more when you have a chance to visit Thailand one day. Cheers!
คุณพูดได้ชัดดมากครับ
I absolutely love this format! It’s so interesting to see different levels of Thai from all around the world. I would love to see a Part 3 - or even more parts! :) These videos are great for expanding my Thai vocabulary and it’s just really encouraging to see and hear other Thai learners. Great job as always, Paddy! :)
If Paddy gets to a part 20 he might get to the level for me to submit an attempt (-:
incentivizing!
I’m blown away by your knowledge of Thai grammar and sentence structures, Paddy. You said you had learned Thai in a natural setting but I think you have as much understanding of the language as someone who learned it in a school or university does. Kudos to you!
Wow Em at the end, can't believe he's never been to Thailand. He sounded like a Thai person to me, especially when he was "thinking on his feet" and speaking naturally
I'm Thai and I agree with you too. He sound like thai.
This is fantastic. I would love to participate in any upcoming videos with foreigners who speak Thai. I'm a fluent Thai speaker myself. Studied in Thailand as a kid and love speaking Thai !
Very good content Paddy...on behalf of Thai people I am very proud and truly appreciated you are guys trying to learn Thai language...
Paddy, I hope you are not getting tired of doing this because I just can't get enough of it. 11 minutes went by so quickly and I just keep smiling throughout the video. Thanks so much for this awesome contents and thanks to everyone for loving our Thai language and culture!
Definitely not getting tired of it! Hopefully would love to make a part 3 sometime soon. Thanks so much for watching and enjoying 🙏
Leya speaks Thai incredibly awesome 🎉🎉 As a thai person, Leya has a very good pronunciation.
Love this video! Thank you so much for including me 😊❤️
Thank you for being part of it Sara!
It's really interesting finding another Swede that's also learning Thai! Obviously, your level is way higher than mine, but it's good to see, nonetheless! 🤩
ขอบคุณครับพี่,,,, ผมขออนุญาติแชร์นะครับ :)) ยินดีที่ได้มีโอกาสแบบนี้นะครับ พี่ทำให้ผมมั่นใจกับตัวเองมากขึ้นครับ ขอบคุณอีกครั้งนะครับ
Yesss, so happy to see the second part. Thank you so much for including me as well. Looking forward to next video already. All the best to you Paddy!
You too Henry! So glad I could include you 👌
Das war super! Sie sprechen ziemlich gut Thai.
Dude, Em sounds so natural and he has never even been to Thailand!? Wow, he is definitely a language genius, way to go Em!
Another great video, please do Part 3, Part 4. . . . . I find all of the Thai speakers inspiring! Thanks
You are the best man honestly, i am from Thailand originally but i moved to Europe when i was young and forgot everythong besides the i understanding a little. Keep up the awesome work!
I am very impressed on how foreigners love to learn Thai language. So proud of it! แล้วเราก็เป็นคนไทยเหมือนกัน แต่ไปโตที่เมืองนอก เพราะฉะนั้นภาษาไทยก็อาจจะไม่คล่องนัก 😅
ชอบมากค่ะที่ฝรั่งเรียนภาษาไทยจังเลย
Anyway, keep up the good work! 👍😀👍
พูดเก่งทุกคนเลยครับ
แต่เพราะการใช้กล้ามเนื้อและอวัยวะในการออกเสียงที่ต่างกัน อาจต้องใช้เวลาค่อนข้างมากในการปรับให้ร่างกายมันจำ
Fantastic Paddy! Just as enjoyable as the last and I bet every one of those people got an absolute kick out of featuring. Plus good positive advice as well. I would watch a part 3 for sure.
For Jen last sentence that she said Son-Jai(interested), I think it would be more natural to say Yak-Roo (want to know).
Great vid Paddy. That all spoke very well. I really need to polish up on my Thai. Maby one day I could half as good. Keep up the good work mate
Leya if you watch this you’ve already earned a black belt in Thai language and you are just 18 years old!
Oh my god ! It's Leya and this means so much to me... ! I think black belt is a bit too much for my current level but I'll try my best to reach that point in a few years !
Thank you so much for your uplifting words ! 🙏
@@prune9421 I'm french too, I learn Thai only with RUclips video. You have a good ear for catching the nuances of thai accent. That was impressive.
Are you into music as well ? (I guess you are)
Here's my input from the pov of a local, native Thai speaker (just my opinion and I could be wrong 🤷♂️):
4:42 - She could say "ฉันอยากรู้ความคิดเห็นของแพดดี้มากๆ" but personally I probably wouldn't have said that, and instead said something like จะรอดูว่าแพดดี้ว่าไง (I'm looking forward to hearing back from Paddy)
5:10 - hmm I'm not sure about this but maybe he could've shortened it to "สิบ สิบเอ็ด
8:36 - Most of my friends who study film would just say เรียนนิเทศ (คณะนิเทศศาสตร์ communication arts) which is a lot more common from what I've heard
I get that Em is just trying to be polite but there's no need for that many ครับ's lol. You could also tell how similar the asean countries' languages are from the way he talks and I'm really impressed
ps. is it just me or does it look like Paddy is tryna be a DJ when he is correcting their tone and pronunciation....
@Dave Gilmour Thanks a lot! I appreciate it, but I went to an International school in Thailand as a kid so my English had to be at a decent level as it was the primary language spoken 😂. However I have some friends who go/went to pure Thai schools, and from what I've seen, the amount of English taught has increased quite a bit; leading to a better level of English from Thai students in general. Recently, it has also been more competitive to get into universities in places like Thailand, US, UK, Australia etc as more Thai students look to study abroad, resulting in more Thais doing standardized proficiency tests such as SAT, ACT, toefls, and ielts. With social media, westernization, and tourism also being influencing factors, I'd say that the level of English spoken in the current generation has gradually improved compared to (for example) but my parents' generation. So I think there was just a lack of education and exposure in the past.
As a Thai I'm amazed that there's so much interest in the Thai language! Thank you so much Paddy, if i wasnt for you I would never have known.
P. S. to eveyone who sent in videos (part 1 as well), good job! You should be really proud of yourselves. I understood what everyone was saying quite easily.
Yo! I've been living in Thailand off and on for the last few years, and tbh I didn't really start making much of an effort to actually learn and be able to speak until the last year or so.
Some days I feel like I'm getting nowhere, it can definitely be intimidating, but watching your channel inspires me and keeps me going and wanting to learn more! Keep the videos coming
We want MOOOOOREEE!!!! Love this format! Makes me even want to send you a video of my Thai after almost 5 years in Bangkok! Keep it up!
WOW
ว้าว
great vid
The Indonesian guy at the end....perfect Thai for a guy that has never been to Thailand, this young man will have an awesome life ahead of him.
The French girl who learnt Thai because of love of movies and also had never been to Thailand.....so cool and impressive.
All the other submissions....bloody unreal.
Paddy, also not so bad!!!!
Cheers from Chiang Mai
Hii ! Leya, the French girl speaking ! Thank you so much for your kind words, I hope I will have the opportunity some day to go to Thailand and to learn even more things about the country !
As native Thai speaker I take my hat off to these people. They're haven’t missed a thing. Excellent!!😊👍
Thai is such an elegant language, with a singing rhythm on the ear. I enjoy these sessions even though I only know 3 "tourist words" !
Native Thai speaker here, you are doing a mighty fine job here mate.
Your comments and critiques are spot on. You pointed them out so clearly I couldn't even think of a better word.
Kudos to all the people in the vids too. Sure, mispronounces here and there but everyone got the most important thing right, getting the message across.
I love these videos. I'm learning thai and I learn a lot from their thai with yourr subtitles as well.
love this series so much! keep doing it paddy😁
Thanks Julian!!
For Em, you never been in Thailand but your Thai language is so fluently, amazingly.
Maybe because we neighbor, or he watch thai drama alot..
That's a native level! I'm just shocked!!
Khun Em, you can't fool me as being a foreigner หลอกไม่สำเร็จ. Every one is awesome including Paddy for criticizing !
I'm happy for the future of thai-lao language with diversified global ( not just regional) accents and dialects just like English today.
OMG! 😲 they impressed me a lot with their Thai! to be honest, I rarely see foreigners speak Thai so clearly, including you Paddy. 😉
Hey Paddy, I never learn Thai, but I always been encountered with a lot of Thai friends since I was in primary 6 when I moved to Penang for studying, and during my university in China.
This message is just to show, how I enjoy listening to you talking in Thai, having converstaion with Thai people in Sydney and you embodied that Thai people's persona.
Keep doing entertaining videos like these, mate!
Good Luck!
Thank you so much for the kind message Ken! I will keep trying my best 💪 Good luck!
สวัสดีครับ..
ขอนับถือด้วยใจจริงๆครับ
อยากขอบคุณแทนคนไทยหลายๆคน ที่ทุกๆคนให้ความสำคัญกับภาษาไทย
ผมรู้สึกทึ่งมากครับเมื่อได้ดูคลิปนี้ ทุกคนเก่งมากครับ ดีใจแทนคนไทย และเครพจากหัวใจครับ ขอบคุณครับ🙏
Thanks Paddy for doing another part of rating Thai vid! Can't explain how much I enjoy watching you guys speaking Thai! Waiting for the part 3
So glad you enjoy it Pang!
Great jobs Paddy, you needs to do video likes these once a month. It helps all of us.
Given the short time period, Jen is amazing and will make amazing progress if she keeps at it. Very impressive tones and cadence, she even inserts a perfct fake 'schwa' after the 'S' of Scotland, bang on. Really natural!
Congratulations everyone you guys are fantastic
Love what you do Paddy! Thanks for the kind words. 😊
You are a legend Justin! Thanks for sending in a video
Awesome video. Awesome speakers . Awesome crit’s. Really very inspiring and I hope you do more of them, Paddy.
After a year of trying to learn at home alone, this makes
me want to as they say “grow a pair” and find people to practice with.
Good luck Rolf!
Keep going!
I am Thai. I’m so happy to see foreigners l love to learn our language. This is amazing!
Love many people in this video kha and love to hear that you wanna learn Thai. สู้ๆค่ะ เก่งมากๆค่ะ ทุกคน :)
Again, I watch these in successions, I really appreciated everybody who participated and wanted to learn Thai. Thank you so so much.
And it's very interesting to hear Paddy point out different every pronunciation and tone.
Good one. Outside of just remembering what I've studied over and over again, pronunciation and tones still close to impossible/difficult to hear distinctions/ nuances esp falling tone. Thumbs up to Khun "Em" sounds like a native !
Hi Paddy. I like this series of your video. Waiting for the part 3.
I love you paddy 😘
You doing great,I’m here for you.
I am your fan club ♥️
❤️❤️❤️
Please keep building a global Thai language community. Rock star
First off Paddy, you are hilarious. I often laugh watching your shows. After watching your videos, I started recording myself speaking Thai. I was born and raised in Thailand until 14. One thing I noticed was that when I speak Thai, I completely drop the pronoun “I” altogether.
Jen from the video here! It just came up on my RUclips feed again! Didn't realise it was over a year ago - and I can now hear my own progress now listening back to this! Amazing! 🙌 Thanks for doing this Paddy! Loving seeing your adventures now in Thailand and excited to see where your channel goes! ปีหน้าเจนจะไป Sydney และหวังว่าจะได้มาเที่ยวเมืองไทยอีกครั่ง อาจจะมีโอกาสที่ได้เจอ Paddy ด้วยนะคะ 😄
So awesome to hear from you Jen! Would love to catch up with you in either Sydney or Thailand! Both options are great
@@ThaiTalkwithPaddy that would be amazing! I’ll be in Sydney next April for sure, and hopefully Thailand around some of that time too. I’ll be keeping up with your videos and hopefully have the chance to cross paths sometime then! Keep up the excellent work - always a bright day when I see a new video up! 🙌
Really inspiring to hear others wrestle with the Thai language. Thanks again
คุณดำเนินรายการ คุณเก่งมากเข้าใจการใช้ภาษาไทย อธิบายได้ถูกต้อง ดีครับคนต่างชาติที่ชอบภาษาไทยจะได้เข้าใจ เยื่ยมเลย.
Your Thai is so good. Omg and you can explain quite well in term of grammar structure. Good job
i have a problem with comparing myself with others BUT i might wanna try harder and learn thai very soon WITH DETERMINATION!
Thanks a lot Paddy, using these videos to learn basic thai. They are more interesting than just learning vocabulary on youtube, but the sentence structures are also more simple to understand versus your other videos.
Very glad it is useful for you Lance!
Technically using sonjai actually is a bit more formal. A more informal way of saying it would be similar to swapping the word “interested” with “I would like to know” like “chun yak roo waa paddy kid yang ngai”. Both ways of saying the phrase is correct and is only dependent on the formality required of the situation. Love these vids bro! ขอให้มีล้านsubscribersไวๆนะครับ
ชอบทุกๆท่านเลยนะครับ ที่พูดภาษาไทยได้ เก่งมากๆเลยนะครับ ขอบคุณที่ชื่นชอบคนไทยและภาษาไทยนะครับถ้า
Very great, everyone is the best by their way, thank you so much Paddy , you are excellent .
Great stuff, Paddy. Keep up the good work. เจมส์
Excellent video Paddy, thank you
Fantastic! I absolutely enjoyed watching this 😀
Nice! Especially Jen's Thai
And Em! Omg really good
Khun Paddy, my name is Mr. Boat. I live in Samutprakarn. I really love your program. Your Thai language is quite good. Thank you for helping promoting Thai language.
Love it bro xxx
Wow, As I am Thai. It's so amazing about your Thai, everyone!
Tones, Pronunciation, Vocabulary. All of you doing well.
For some people, If I just listened, I don't know that they are foreigners.
Keep going learning Thai. I feel good that you love to learn Thai.
ยอดเยี่ยมครับแต่ละคน พูดได้ดี ทำการบ้านมาดี ขอให้พัฒนาต่อไปครับ ผมก็จะพัฒนาภาษาที่สองของผมให้ดีด้วยเช่นกัน
Well done. Looking forward to seeing part 3 too 😊
you chose the right cover~
everyone speaks thai, becoming super friendly emediately.
Great video. I really admire everyone, including you … Paddy, and appreciate your interest and endeavor in leaning my native language 👏👏👏
I personally feel that a few might have been influenced by non-central accent (Northeastern/Northern) from the persons next to them.
Well done to all of those that sent in their videos. I now feel really jealous of each and every one of you. It shows it can be done though, so thank you. And cheers Paddy, I love your channel.
Love these, thanks Paddy!
Jen is really beautiful, just mesmerizing...
Sorry for straying off topic, but she really stands out.
ขอบคุณที่รักและชอบภาษาไทย และช่วย เผยแพร่ ภาษาไทย ขอบคุณมากๆครับ จะติดตามคลิปต่อๆไปครับ

I was freaking out- Mr.Justin is a 3rd grade teacher at my formal school, I moved to a new school for Grade 7 but I still do miss everyone from my old school.
Also, we do not really use สนใจ in a sentence like that, mostly ตื่นเต้น like you said. If the person wants to say it in a more non-formal/lazy-ish way then they can say อยาก instead (As in ฉันอยากที่จะรู้สิ่งที่คุณ/(Insert name) คิดเกี่ยวกับภาษาไทยของฉัน)
Another thing, (1:56) ผมอยากคุยกับแฟนในภาษาไทย is useable. There is no need to change the word unless they’re doing a very very grammar test
And who might my former student be? 😊
You're so good at Thai.
I wish my English is as good as your Thai.
คุณสามารถเป็นครูสอนภาษาไทยได้เลย คุยแนะนำได้ดีมากครับ ( 3:33 คนนี้พูดไทยชัดนะ)
Great video. ดีมากค่ะ ชอบมากค่ะ😀
I really like this video! And I am happy to talk anyone who wants to learn Thai language!
Paddy เก่งนะ สามารถผันวรรยุกตได้ ตอนเด็กๆ เริ่มเรียนครั้งแรกโคตรยากเลยย
Hi Paddy
ฉัน as high tone is correct
Though by the tone rules it should be rising, it is an exception and in natural spoken Thai high tone is used.
They are all excellent,so inspiring
วิดีโอสุดยอดมาก เป็นกำลังใจให้นะครับ👍🏻✌🏼
Fantastic .That impressed me a lot.🥰
the last one was perfect!
4:30 สนใจ (interested)
This is a formal word either in thai or english. In thai, we normally use this word in writing or to describe a second or third person's interest. Like เขาสนใจหนังเรื่องนี้ "He's interested in this movie." เขาสนใจเรื่องศิลปะ "He's interested in arts." You may use it to describe your own interest when speaking but it will turn the sentence to a very formal sentence.
The more fitting word and more common to use when speaking would be อยาก (want). อยากรู้ "want to know" อยากดู "want to see". So she should be saying "ฉันอยากรู้ว่าแพ็ดดี้คิดอย่างไร..." "I want to know what will Paddy think..."
Learning thai is not easy since the school tend to teach you only the most formal way of speaking since it sounds more polite. Same goes for english tough, no school would teach you "Yo, dude, wassup" on your first day. Anyway, the only way to improve is to practice and listen to what other people say.
Bring on Part 3.. & 4 . U ripper..
ฟังแต่คนสำเนียงดีครับ พูดไพเราะ เพียงแต่ออกเสียงจะเพี้ยนไปบ้างเล็กน้อย คนอินโดนีเซียพูดได้ชัดธรรมชาติเหมือนคนไทยเลย
