SME challenge Geopex - Sinking and corbels more robust and effective with geotextiles

In this video, Maarten van der Steen, manager of Geopex, explains the tests carried out at Deltares, with specific emphasis on the possible damage that ballast can cause to the geotextile. The main purpose of these tests in the Geohal at Delatres is to prevent the erosion protection properties of the zinc and collar pieces from being lost during installation due to damage caused by the installation of the stones. This is a real danger. Recently, the CROW guideline regarding this installation became even 'stricter', because too many damaged geotextiles are still found. With this research, Geopex makes a significant contribution to the sustainable management of waterways and the protection of soils and banks.
