To know that rock super stars lived very unassuming lives and to see the locations of what they would have called the neighborhood never ceases to amaze me.
It was a sad day for all of us when Ralphie died. I think I like the looks of the Tropicana better then, than what it looks like now! Really interesting history with the rockers living there!

I had a friend that ate at Duke's often, since he lived near by, 1 morning i met him for breakfast around 82'-83' and Shelley Winters was eating alone, Shelley knew i recognized her and she smiled and tilted her head at me and i did the same. I was told Shelley ate there some and Alfred Bloomingdale was a regular.

Another amazing vlog. Hubby and I always watched the Dodger games when Vin Scully was broadcasting and he would more often then not tell a story about Sandy Koufax but I don't remember hearing about the motel. All those names of people who stayed there is incredible, we are HUGE classic rock fans so knowing Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix and so many others walked that sidewalk and stayed in that place is awesome, I'm always in awe of things like that just knowing you're somewhere and standing someplace someone like Jimi Hendrix or Bob Marley was. I am also very sorry to hear about Ralphie May, the last couple of years have been dreadful for losing people we admire and I am really sorry that you have lost a friend. R.I.P

It's sad to see old Hollywood landmarks torn down and replaced. The Brown Derby, Chasen's, the old movie theaters, the old hotels.....it's just sad. And the great classic star's homes.....Pickfair, Gloria Swanson's mansion, Falcon Lair, Jimmy Stewart's home.....torn down and replaced by ugly new construction.
