Christmas Day game between the Bulls and Pistons. Pippen and Grant Hill had developed a friendly rivalry from competing against each other during their time on the 1996 Dream Team and were the two best small forwards in the game. Pippen scored 27, Jordan chipped in 23 and Dennis Rodman had a nice all-around game with 11 points, 22 rebounds, and 7 assists. Спорт
I still believe that the 90's Bulls in their prime would dominate in todays league.
Peter Alick (Hyrulyamoto) no shit
they have no chance against GSW
U know by it
Bumble Bity the Bulls had three regular members of the NBA’s All Defensive team in Jordan, Pippen and Rodman, three extremely good outside shooters in Jordan, Pippen and Kerr and an inside game the GSW wouldn’t know what to do with. Durant is a great outside shooter but he couldn’t take the pounding of trying to play Longley and Rodman inside and if he tried to handle the ball on the outside Jordan and Pippen would eat him alive. Curry would likely be Jordan’s assignment for most of the game and we all know what happens when Jordan goes on a mission.
@@bumblebity2902 the same gsw team that almost lost to the houstan rockets? The same gsw team that lost being up 3-1 in the 2016 finals? If it's one thing the warriors have shown me, it's that they are beatable, I don't know where this idea that this warriors team is so unbeatable came from. They've never played a team that has a high bball i.q like they do this team is far from the greatest team of all time like people like to think they are
This Grant Hill... better that any guy playing in current NBA.
Pippen showing Hill he still the man 💪💪
The shot by Jordan at 4:13 is one of the most amazing jumpers I've ever seen. It's hard to see it here (I have this game on tape), but on the replay you can see that Dumars stripped the ball literally out of Jordan's hands on the way up, and while in the air, Jordan had to regain control of the basketball, double-pumped, and hit the shot. Just amazing.
Pippen in today's game would just dominate.
Pippen was that Nigga.
The original Mr Glass, Pip was that dude.
I always thought Rodman was one of the most underrated passer
The home team actually wore home jerseys and the road team actually wore road jerseys. And defense was actually played. Good days of the NBA
😂😂
The arena floors looked the same everytime with no fake holograms.
Jordan + Pippen = Best duo in the history of the game
Amazing line up with three guys at 6 foot 6 inches, one at 6 foot 7 and one at 6 foot 11. From position 1-4 this is pound for pound the best defensive line up ever. Stretch that defense with full court press, NO guard will be able to initiate a decent offensive scheme. Then you have the greatest scorer ever and the greatest rebounder ever on the same team.
The greatest team ever in NBA
Nobody could/can take charge better than Pip .
Anton Zorin Yupp. But that's also why he was alot more injured in the 2nd part of the 3-peat. Like Larry Bird, did the dirty work and sacrifice.
Anton Zorin
The second threepeat Bulls probably had the two best ever at taking charges in Pippen & Rodman
Man Pippen was good..
Grant Hill, Penny Hardaway, & T-Mac. 3 Players I would have liked to see injury free through their careers. Really good players before the injuries.
Date of game, 12.25.96. Final score: Bulls 95 Pistons 83. Bulls improved their record to (25-3). Pippen 27 points 8 RB 8 AST, Jordan 23 points 10 RB 2 AST, Rodman 11 points 22 RB 7 AST, Kukoc 14 points 8 AST 4 Steals. Team stats... Rebounds: Bulls 51 Pistons 37, Off. Rebounds: Bulls 24 Pistons 12, Assists: Bulls 30 Pistons 11, Steals: Bulls 10 Pistons 3.
in short....they raped them
Dennis Rodman runs the perfect weave on a fast break. Basic basketball...killing them.
The home team actually wore home jerseys and the road team actually wore road jerseys. And defense was actually played. Good days of the NBA
pippen was on fire that game
That's gotta be one of the shortest lineup for a game I've ever seen, especially up front!! I just loved the way Phil made full use of each and every player on that squad, from 1 to 12, everybody knew their role and everybody played to the best of their ability. He mixed up the lineups many times and never seemed to go wrong!!!
i was at this game best seats i ever had; front row. can remember vividly the grant hill dunk on bill winnenton, his face was priceless. looking for the entire game on video to see myself in my 20's
So much firepower the Bulls had back then. MJ, Pipen, Kukoc, Steve Kerr Ron Harper, Rodman. Complete Offense and Defense Domination. I was lucky to have witness this great team played.. Even a prime Lebron-Heat/Cav's or a Golden State led by Durant, Curry, Thompson can't beat this version of the Bulls.
This in 1996 not 1997. Scottie Pippen was out for the first half of the 97-98 season and Pippen is playing here.
96/97 season
Exactly what i was thinking this was Christmas of 96
Why Pippen wearing Air Jordan's?...When he has his own signature shoe. Dam you know you're the Shit when your teammate who is an All-star in his own right. Is wearing your Shoe's...The G.O.A.T
I love this camera angle.. Looks like street ball
the best starting line up ever !!
That drive and dunk by Grant Hill at 6:58 was just amayzing. Beat Pippen and a helping Rodman to dunk over Bill Weddington. Just wish he didn't have to deal with all thos injuries.
IMO the best intro music to introduce a starting line up not to mention the running of the Bulls to start it off on the jumbotron
90s = Greatest Basketball Era by far. Jordan, Olajuwon, NBA on NBC
When that intro come in....game time.
Always got pumped during that intro!
I love the entro of NBA on NBC. I love this NBA 80s and 90s so much fun to watch and more entertaining than today BORING NBA.
was @ this game, best seats I ever had at any event. floor seats across from pistons bench. I think I saw the back of my head on one shot.
former Pistons Dennis Rodman and former Chicago Bulls coach Doug Collins and Phil Jackson was an assistant back in 1989, Collins was fired in 1989-1990 and Jackson replaced him and the start of the Bulls era from 1991-1998.
God I remember HATING that camera view!!
+Marc Giant that cam is awsome.. it seems realistic
+RasXcellent1 this was the only game the used it to my knowledge
I’m here for this comment
I used to love the bulls on Christmas night
This is game was played on Christmas Day 1996 not 1997.
SEE MY RODMAN 22 REBOUND !!!!!!!!!
Put This Game On NBA TV Hardwood Classic On TV
I remember seeing this game over my grandmother's house on Xmas.. I was 20 back then.. I was wowed cuz it seemed like the whole team had those AJ XII's (taxi's) on
I remember this game!!!!!! There's one highlight in this video that is missing and that is during the first half Grant Hill shook the shit out of Scottie with a crossover for a layup!!!!!!!!!!
From North Carolina, at Guard 6'6", MICHAAEL JORDANNNNN
MUSIC TO MY EARS
I would say Michael + Scottie = Win
Waaaaaa dennis rodman 11pts, 22rbnds and 7assists😳 AAWWEESSOOMMEE💪🏽
Anyone else here in 2020 due to the coronavirus lockdown? Amazing how in just a couple of years the Detroit Pistons roster is so different than the one Dennis played on.
This game was on Christmas of '96, not '97. I rememba cause Pippen didn't come back in da 97-98 season until January of '98 cause of his injury/surgery.
Your videos are so high quality!
In 1997 Bulls played the Heat
I wish they never got rid of Chicago Stadium. Can you imagine how loud that place would have been when they got rolling in that 72-10 season? United Center was fine, but you didn't FEEL it like you felt Chicago Stadium.
pippen wear air jordan12!!
xmancomic as was Ron Harper
pippen got his own shoe later that season. I currently have a pair.
Who do you guard ?!🤔
plus Rodman had a great game not just rebounding, the perfect pases at the right time , the scoring when he nas the chance , etc ... I mean this guy was a genius when it comes to his role in part of the team ... 🤐 .. Just mind blowing
This game was on December 25th 1996.
As soon as that music played you knew heads were gonna roll......
Yeah man definitely goosebumps for us, but I think the visiting teams all shat their pants prior to the games after that intro.
who made this channel? I love it... my favorite most complete textbook player ever...
A point forward that knows how to play without the ball unlike Lebron. Not to take away from Lebron, he’s more dominate with his athletic power, but Scottie is the most skilled player I ever saw even over Magic.
PS: I thought Grant Hill was the second coming of Pippen, but he got hurt bad right when he peaked... smh, what a shame.... 😢
NBA on NBC wooow I like that, specially the intro music
Wow...MJ doing a Curly Neal impersonation...Then Rodman...with "The finger roll"!
DAMM Rodman 22 rebounds WOW.... Rebound King!
i remeber watching this live, but didnt seem the video quality was that bad back then
Oh how I miss those days....
6:38, Harper is like 'i am open, i am open!' MJ is like 'nope, sorry!'
Scottie did that All Star commercial but didn't get selected that year....😵
two best teams in leauge at least in reg. season, and what a diffrence .... bulls were amazing .
man i miss the bulls i cant wait for that 30 fof 30
Light Work for the Bulls in this game...
Best nba on nbc & team intro.
My mom told me about this game about my oldest cousin when he was 3, he used to run to his room and freak out when he heard the music because he was scared about the cartoon bull above the stadium.
6:27 MJ with the Harlem Globetrotters auction tape 😁
That was the original small ball line up, that group of bulls could lock down anyone
Yeah ya. Got's something to watch on Christmas.
have this on vhs.... I so wish we had dvd recorders starting in 91!!!! there isn't shit I wanna record now!!!
I had this on Tape 📼 too
Pippen with the Taxi's on !!! FIRE
i think that the song after bulls introduction is maybe another spin off track from SIRIUS.. but im not sure can anybody hlp??
Everytime when this song was being played you know a team was going to get their a$$ kicked.
I liked this pistons team!
iz crazy in the 97 season he had the like 8 people wearing his Air Jordan XII jordan of course pip harper luc brown winnington and im sure i saw phil jackson wearing some fresh J's with his game suits on lol
Pip missed the first 35 games of the 1997/98 season
Pippen is the original Mr Glass.....then Grant Hills ankle took the moniker.
That was the days
you are correct because on christmas of 97, the bulls played miami heat beating them. scottie wasnt playing yet.
Starting four hall of famers in this game. Plus Ron Harper.
And Steve Kerr off the bench.
that intro is like and please excuse my pro wrestling analogy, but its like The Undertaker's entrance, it messes with your mind and you this looming dark figure (The Undertaker, Michael Jordan) coming for you and you are beaten during the entrance.
song after the bulls intro?? thanks
you're awesome man keep it up
Awful jersey's the Pistons wore in the late 90s😣
@gobersiak Yeah man...one of the best years to be born in...Kinda wish i could have watched the 80,81,82,83,84,85,86 Finals live...started watching when i was 5...Showtime era...Bad Boys, and Bulls era's...Lakers 3 peat was b.s. Old Pacers...One man team Sixers...and Weak Nets...The Eastern Conference was trash from 99 up until 04...The 2003 draft rebuilt the Eastern Conference.
Jay Ortiz Facts bro', Facts.
there were an altercation between hill and rodman...you didn't showed it..great game tough!

Upload More Chicago Bulls Basketball Games From NBA On NBC Sports
The Bulls didn't need to shot 3, but if they do, they would smoke the GSW. Just look at the Bulls top defender, they are much taller and faster. They would neurtalize the GSW offense.
MJ is the greatest and was automatically an MVP candidate every year. But in 1997, MJ had Rodman, Phil Jackson's coaching, and a top-five player in Pippen. Hill had an old Joe Dumars. He led the Pistons in rebounding, assists, scoring, and steals and 54 wins. Therefore, he was more deserving than MJ.
@kenkb02 Yeah man that was my time...im born in '82...seen it all...The Jordan move in the '91 finals...saw that live i was 8...shit was crazy...i was in my room it was late at night...like 11:45, 12:00o'clock thats late when ur 8 feel me...and he did that and i was like o shit...Marv Albert was a like A Spectacular Move by Michael Jordan!!! SHIT WAS WILD CUZ....I GREW UP IN AN ILL ERA.
4 HOF players in the starting lineup with a HOF coach, hard to beat that pedigree.
@noelh98 i agree
Rodman 22 rebs WOW
I personally LOVED the first :26 of the vid because as well ALL know, every intro to a Christmas Day game now is 1 minute of annoyance via the annual theme song that plays all the god damn time lol. I get it with the money and promotion.. and money that's involved, but the music sucks. It mind a minute of Dr Dre, or a minute of even Michael McDonald. Or you know... "Welcome to a special NBA Christmas Day edition... let's start the game".
Marcus Jiles
other than #23 aint many better than #33
Patterson Lindell both highly overrated
@@MuhammadFarukh nah we actually in the Midwest dawg
@@elbowgang9715 Actually you're right. I must've been on crack or something when I wrote that
@DAB901 was this the game that went into double OT? Hill does a lil Worm impersonation running back up court after something silly happened on the floor...........then in dub OT Pip hits a 3 to setup the Bulls win........?
This wasnt christmas of 1997 - i was at the 1997 Christmas Day game against the Miami Heat. Pippen was out with his back injury. Do some digging, the Bulls Played the Miami Heat on Christmas Day 1997. Not the Pistons.
ts8605 Someone mentioned that in earlier comments. So this was 1996 Christmas Day during 96-97 season.
Melbester9 ahh ok, i didnt read farther down. Both were great games!!
ts8605 Yeah lol. I'm a Knick fan just watching old school highlights . Hopefully Kristaps Porzingis can lead the Knicks franchise to a title like Jordan did. I'm from New York, huge fan of him. What's your team?
I think he put 97 so we bulls people would know it was 97 bulls n not 96 bulls
Chills!
wow rodman!!!
Love
